+Brett Padgett it's in a protective water proof case. Kind of like the one you put a go pro in. The lens cover on it gives a tiny fish eye detail to it. It is an iPhone though.

Ah the youtube comment section, it's been a while. The selfie-stick was patented. I can definitely see companies like GoPro potentially selling something similar to this. They already sell a ridiculous amount of mounts and accessories. It may just be a phone on a string but you're underestimating people's laziness; they'd rather buy it for a few bucks that make it themselves.

This was so ahead of its time
This is a brilliant idea and the execution of it was amazing! I just saw one of Casey Neistat's vlogs in which he expresses his admiration for this experiment and tried (read: failed badly) to create a similar cinematic experience. This is definitely outside-the-box thinking and I say "Bravo!"
P.S. I will also say you are an fantastic skier. I would probably have died attempting that same experiment. Be well and take care.

rebelincheck Yea the camera is better, but my android phone specs are much higher than the iphone. Plus I like the freedom of androids os. Iphones ios doesn't give as much freedom. Different strokes for different folks man. I don't think my comment was defensive, I just said what I prefer.

Neat. If you ever consider doing this again, consider using a Nexus 6P. It has a better image sensor, a larger aperture and supports 240 frames per second slow motion video.

+Petter Maxeem You're an idiot. An f2.0 aperture is wider than an f2.2. It allows more light into the camera. The Nexus 6P also has a 1.5μm image sensor which is larger than the 1.22μm sensor found on an iPhone. Bigger does mean better in this regard. Since the camera aspect is better, that is why I am recomending it. Both the 6P and iPhone shoot 240fps slow mo, I am well aware, but I think a nicer camera would make for a better video. That's all.

And how do you expect to mount a wide angle lens to your Nexus? No one makes lenses for it haha.
