Well wasn't that bloody lovely!?
Have been following Yohan for quite a few years now. He always makes old ‘standards’ fresh. So musically creative. Thanks for this!
You will always be mind blown when ever you watch yohan's old videos
What a lovely arrangement! I'm curious though why the quarter and 8th triplet rhythm instead of notating as swung eighths? I know they are not exactly equivalent, but I feel like it would simplify and clarify the notation. Regardless, stellar job and congrats on approaching 100k!
Man this video took me back to a time when COVID hasn't happened yet haha
Great transcription Timothy! A blast from the past upload for sure.
This is the reason for the season! Dang! LOVE this!

Great!💯🙋♂️
Hello, my dear friend! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video! Like 👍 Very nice! Always be healthy and happy!
Amazing
Very Jools Holland-esque. Some of the chord progressions and those lovely 1/8th beat rests are just like a couple of the tracks on JH’s “Geographer’s Guide to the Piano”. I thoroughly enjoyed this cover (and the transcription).
Hi! Where do you find the drum base? I would like to use different types of drums for playing. Thank you!
You can always tell when dudes just have it. Kid has some chops.
Perfection
Well done sir
Nice

I’m sad to see words like “genius” be misused for simply talented people. It’s great, but is it genius? It’s even stilted at times, and is a cover. Mostly diatonic and absolutely within the realm of what has existed for about 60 years plus. Reserve the term genius for composers who break boundaries, for creators and inventors who push the standard. Unless it works for your clickbait titles, than carry on you genius you!
thank you for this comment kturn5953. you really opened my eyes to the tragedy that is a compliment
this guy seems like fun
@@amadeuz8993genius level fun!
It is genius. Beethoven also composed diatonic only and he is a genius. His harmonic language is the same as the geniuses that predate him. Do you only consider non diatonic and outside playing to be "genius"?
@@heinzgilbertI looked up the definition of genius and there does seem to be a wide discrepancy. Psychologist Lewis Therman said it is an ability only shown by 1 in every 250 people. So according to him this pianist could be considered genius, but that’s cause probably less that 1 out of every 250 people even study piano at a professional level. However, according to psychologist Leta Hollingworth it is an ability only shown by 1 in every 2 million people. Now that’s a higher threshold for sure, and then it must be reserved for elite minds. Seeing as how the definition is ambiguous, I no longer have a leg to stand on. I viewed “genius” like Hollingworth did, yet that is not the only voice on the topic as Therman would disagree with her. So, it’s fine, this guy is a Therman level genius, and therefore you guys are right!
It’s fun to critique music or art because it’s always a losing battle. Someone will inevitably come along and describe how important that art is to them. The fact that art is subjective simply dismantles any naysayers like myself. I don’t see or hear the genius in this, and with Beethoven it was obvious (counterpoint, voice leading, through-composed motives, harmony, modulations, original compositions, etc…), but that is my viewpoint. Therefore anybody could be called a genius depending on the person saying it. Genius is now a term I can throw around at anyone that I think is fairly good at what they do. I’ll redefine it in my head as not a ground-breaking or unique person, but simply a standard level of talent and accomplishment to be used to describe anybody I like 👍 Next time I come chatting about misuse of words, I’ll research the word and argue with myself ahead of time haha 😂 Don’t call Albert Einstein a genius anymore, because that would be underselling him!
Ok I'm bored
