Seems odd, why would some foreigner or customer of the business enter a dark room uninvited where there is a meeting taking place only to find food to their right...? Unless they have a super strong sense of smell. I believe this 100% was to fire the guy.

I think the joke is that Ron is a spineless ass-kisser with no personality, so the boss gives him a ridiculous job to fuck with him, Ron doesn't realize he's being fucked with so he just goes with it and takes it way too seriously (something that probably happens at corporations like this every day). In the end the boss just gets so pissed off at how much of a bitch Ron is that he fires him

As a janitor, I've experienced getting the shaft when it comes to bagels, holiday cookies, etc. so I just wait til everyone goes home then and eat away. For me maybe? Yes I'm a Mexican, and I use a fake accent to my advantage as well

no the janitor was a sales "associate" and in they all are associated in some way to the sales company, so the bagels were for pretty much everyone haha, thats why when ron got fired, he wasnt allowed to have the bagels
