Shit was dope. I didn't expect the patent leather repaint to look that clean.
Haven’t watched yet and already know it’s about to be a godly shoe 💯
Thank you bro
Saludos desde 🇲🇽
The lofi music while watching at night after a long good day birthday party is hitting different man, god bless our days and our lives and may everyone have the best outcome in their lives.
Another home run as usual! Thanks for documenting your process for us, it helps me with any small questions or areas I have for my own projects so it's good to have something to refer back to. 👏👏
John, I got a pair of 99 Bred 4 that are just sitting in my closet. I wanted to try and restore them myself by why not ask the Sensei of restorations to do it? I can shoot you an email as well. Bay Area local.
No thanks 🙏🏼
John this is the first time watching all the way through which is my bad.
I'm really impressed with your craft and the end result is really really great work. You can just tell that you have been doing this for a long time. I'm not trying to sound corny but you really have something to be proud of. I've watched other videos similar to this but nobody is more precise and thorough and careful as well than you. Takes a lot of patience ,a steady hand and great vision to do your type of work. What's even better is that your young and can expand and really get your name out there. Sky is the limit and wish you the best. God bless!
Yup sanding w/ a few fine grits of sand paper then paint and wet sand then glossy clear! I did a few pair of OG 11s .. nice work !😎
Wow! I can't believe how well they came out, before the re-release of the Cool Grey 11s I honestly thought there was no coming back from that nasty yellowing on the OG pairs
That high gloss finish *chef's kiss* 👌
Tht paint match was on point, great work
Liked it before I even watched it. This dude is always putting out 🔥 content. Although I prefer the aged look on these 2001's, these came out super dope!
This got me motivated to try to do this restoration again, I tried it on an original pair and messed up last year.
I originally planned to try to get the retro ones that come out later, but after seeing them use an ice blue outsole, instant pass after seeing that, so now I want to get another ‘01 pair to restore
Get u another pair off goat or eBay people selling older Jordan releases for cheap
@@yallknowdayday4380 I did get a pair last year for $100, with the box, did a restoration, but the lining was off, so I did it again, but the acetone ate up the patent leather 😭😭😭
I’m on the hunt again for another pair from ‘01, along with ‘00 Concords
as a professional carpainter: good job on on not accelarating the drying time...maybe i dint get it, but i think angelus sells "softener"..i would recommend using this because shoes are in motion and it makes the paintjob just smoother and avoids cracks and stuff like that...but overall decent job!
Missed your videos bro so glad you’re back 🥺
Great video bro! I’m going to restore my Tuxedo 11’s and your video was VERY helpful.
Amazing job as always. 👍🏻
Sheeesh!!! Brought them thangs bak frm tha dead Pet Cemetery type 🙏🏼👌🏼🔥🔥🔥
god i forgot how much i love these videos
Clean work bro 👌🏻🔥
finally posted🙌🙌
Damn!!! That's good work
This was cool. Looks just like new
He went from cleaning shoes to MAKING them like wtf TALENT 😳
You're easily the best of the best in the sneaker restoration game. I have been working on some projects, currently have some cool greys. I'm interested in how repainting the nubuck went for you after it chipped. The pair I have are chipped pretty badly. What colors did you use to match the upper and approximately how much (percentage wise) of each did you use? Looking forward to your response. Thanks in advance.
Once the nubuck gets chipped you're screwed. It'll never look the same again. The best you can do, is what John did, and try to blend it in as best you can so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. Nikes durabuck is synthetic and cheap. It's not even real leather. The cotton shows once it chips. It's a lost cause. There's some weirdos out there who pretend to know how to restore it but it ends up looking like baby turd mixed with baby powder thats painted. Stay away from durabuck if you're doing restorations unless the client knows it's a lost cause and you'll just do your best to mask the damage.
You did a killer job. I didn't even know you could paint patent leather. Looks factory bro.
finallyyyyy i already know this video gonna be fire
Got some Nike sb Gibson guitar case’s that would love some of your attention man lol need a reglue, fur refluff, scuffs, paint.. a little bit of everything.. haven’t seen many refluff videos on CZcams ! Keep killing it JM!
Damn! So clean!
Thank you for the extra re-glue tips! I needed that advice, I fucked up the alignment on a pair of 1996 Columbia 11s and feel sick XD, I appreciate the vids tho , I wont fuck up again
Vick almightys restoration on the concords def had good tips for lining as well
yessir you are back
Another great vid! Love the way how you explain things. I’m wondering tho how much it’d cost to restore my Zen Gray 11s.
sheesh, that was ill. well done sir.
Bro Nice job on the Patent Leather!
My man loves his cotton balls and acetone
Good shit bro, can you please tell me how you got the patent leather color??? I need to touch up my cool grey's, would most definitely appreciate it!!! 🙏
always amazing work my guy! can we get a workshop tour?
Let me clean it up first ahhah
I got this project and concords ripped patent up next… have you tried the sanding and adhesion promoter method and has this restore lasted using the videos method?
Hey I have pure moneys from 2012, sole separation, scraped paint, and creases you think you can restore them?
This man saving a lot of money
yo john, mabuhay bro. quick question man..i have a 2010 cool grey 11s. Was going to reglue them. While cleaning the adhesive with acetone, paint came off on the toe section. Was wondering what angelic paint to buy to match the color and glossiness of the rest of the shoe. Thanks in advance bro. God bless.
Dope vid💪🏾 Gotta question, recently cleaned my cool grey 11s and the nubuck turned darkish brown grey any way I can restore them to cool grey again? any tips will help ✌🏾
Hey John, when you get chemical burns all you do is keep finishing the shoe with just water and you let it set for 2 days and it eventually goes away on its own.
The chemical burns I had on my shoes were left for about a week. I've did multiple sessions after that and it became permanent. I've had chemical burns go away on their own before. I just let this one sit for far too long.
I got some cool grey 1s that need some TLC but I need to reglue the midsole. Any recommendations
Lourd la vidéo fréro.
So how do you get the footbed glued down if you only apply glue to the heel and toe then the sides
Do you only glue the sides of the midsole to upper and not the foot bed?
Amazing work! Just wondering why you didn’t airbrush the patent leather before the reglue? That way you have to tape less and get a crisp line where the midsole is glued
I would have piece of mind knowing I don't have to touch up the patent leather if I were to get glue on the uppers. If I mess up on the patent leather while im regluing I'll have to redo the whole process again.
@@johnandrew00 ahhh makes complete sense! That’s for the info, and dope video as always! 🔥
DANG BRO NICE SHOES YOU GOT ON
I got some 2010 copper Foamposites I need restored icey soles and reglue
Good ahh job ❗️
This is crazy for me
I’ve subbed to you when u had 100 subs crazy u grew
I like the color of the patent leather actually....would hve been cute to keep it
Love your vids, what kind of dremel do you
Use ? And what grit ?
Hey is it ok to wash in washing machine without the bottom sole?
Where are u located I got these but they say in the box and turned yellow can you fix item
how is the shoe holding up today? can see the shoe was never really worn as it doesnt have any crease.
How many coats of the gloss and what’s the dry time between coats
Dope video bro! where did you got those khakhi pants?
My first time to see someone painted a patent leather 🤔. Is the paint durable?
What glue do you use? I’m trying to reglue 11’s and I got yellow glue which gives it a yellow tint
Barge cement super stick
How do you like cement in the bottle? I’ve seen a few people do that.
It preserves the glue well and it’s easier to apply. If I accidentally leave it open, the glue will harden at the tip. The rest of the glue won’t dry out
@@johnandrew00 genius bro! I need to do that. The barge container is a pain in the ass to be honest.
how do u clean ur white laces
he is truly a shoe doctor
Can anyone tell me what that bit is called he is using for his dremel at 5:47 mark
your so underrated
Damn, I like the patent leather as is.
So you don't glue the bottom just the edges of the uppers and soles? Would that hold up overtime?
Most of the stress will be on the sides. Glueing the bottom won't add to the durability of the whole reglue in my experience.
@@johnandrew00 makes total sense
This shoe is older then me 😂😂😂
Please tell me the model of this shooting equipment
Yeeee keeps me wanting to be alive
These gotta be for display. If you wear these the patent leather is gonna shatter alongside your soul…
I’ll let me boy wear them and see how they hold up
@@johnandrew00 Amazing work nonetheless my boy…
U ready for another pair I have the same 2001 11s glue is failing
You can actually use salon 40 for the patent leather the same way
It doesn’t give the same results. I’m more likely to damage the patent leather with minimal results as I’ve done in the past.
Yo, I know it can't just be me. I been watchin JM for years, and he just sounds like he aint about it anymore. I think the grind took what was once a passion/hobby and YT turned it into a job for him and he just dont want any part of it.
People grow up its normal, hes not doing no cringey stuff anymore which i appreciate, he gets to the point and still has a lot of charisma while doing it
@@neecs Naw. It aint that. There's a lot to unpack here. I personally enjoyed his creativity in his intros/openers. I also thought his approach to reiterate processes was unique and separated himself from all the other Jordan restorers on YT. But most importantly, you can see a huge difference in edits.
He used to hold off on quick summarization transitions and kept with great detail the level of work he was executing on the shoe.
Now its: Show shoe - > transition - > dremel - > transition - > apply glue - > transition.
What's become apparent is the attempt to keep vid lengths within a certain threshold (this is a monetization decision) and relax on the heavy editing required (time).
Its no less quality -- its just a different vibe. A different focus. I'm just sayin, as an avid viewer, I can see it. No cap
I appreciate you for being a long time subscriber!! I feel you in that bro. It got boring for me. All my videos feel the same. Just with a different shoe.
It’s always been the same steps for every project. I’ve been hanging on to the same script for almost 5 years now. The only difference is the shoes I work on. I gotta try some other things on the channel that I enjoy
@@johnandrew00 I feel you my guy. I know the YT grind can eat yo soul, cuh. You found a script that was bangin. Algorithm was liking it. But it required you to use that same method for 4+ years...
I loved that method. It taught me a lot about what to look for, how to prep, and expect results given the work put in.
Just keep that head up, little homie.
I still got mine. They're not destroyed though. They did turn olive though
I think every person keeps an old toothbrush so they can scrub things with 😂😂
do you charge for restorations bc I got two OG Pairs of sneakers that neeeds to be restored 😭
What does the sound called in the background 8:10
Do you ever take in projects?
Hey guys I got a question. I have a pair of 2016 space jam 11’s which were pretty beat. I’ve used the sun and salon care 40 to unyellow them for a couple weeks now. I’ve reached a plateau where if I keep icing them the color doesn’t change. Anyone know what’s wrong?
Unyellowing shoes are a process🙏🏽 yellowing can be slowed down but it cant be stopped unfortunately. Depending on the age/wear of a shoe, the yellowing might be able to bring back the icey look. Heavy wear yellowing is a whole different yellowing than yellowing from an old sitting deadstock pair. ✊🏽
There’s a limit to how icy you can get them depending on how worn out they are. DS shoes that are yellowed will go back to factory ice.
@@johnandrew00 thanks for the advice! I’ll keep that in mind when i buy used shoes. btw i’m a huge fan! i’m trying my best to replicate your work 😅
I have a pare of beat 2019 cool gray 4’s that you can work on
The shoes he was wearing 😳
You gotta restore my classic green 4’s☹️
Lmao mine are fucked as well the whole leather cracked theres no going back
@@neecs mine just need a reglue
😳how did u do that?!
not gon lie.. all you had to do was clean the shoe strings😅. that brown look Dope in a Way.. and question have you ever did any Jordan 6s 😮??😎 keep it up
🔥🔥🔥
NICEEEE
You the 🐐
Isn't boiling water easier for sole removal ?
Not an air Jordan 11 anymore. Now a foam Jordan 11. But, a good restoration
just wait until you hear about the 'air' jordan 1
You really have to be that guy that has to be technical with the name of a shoe? Over a part of it that won’t be seen? 🤦🏾♂️
@@Thejordanenthusiast I know it’s hard to come by a air unit, i have nothing against using foam. At the end it is a clean pair of Jordan 11s.
@@Thejordanenthusiast just like the Porsche Taycan Turbo s; it doesn’t have a turbo but, it is still a sick fast electric car.
A john why do Cool grey turn yellow or a different color over time
Need help with the chemical burn on soles
So your saying we can send our old shoes in for a restoration?
2000 infrared 6s with box and I think the card
Haven’t seen u in a while
Can i ask you a question mr manalo if some of your subscriber give you a shoe to fix will you do it for free or not🤔
In the beginning of the video I said I would restore a pair for free if i'm able to do a video. But it depends on the severity of the shoes.
Yeeeesirr❗️
i wouldn’t of touched the patent leather the vintage yellowing is what people want these days jordan reimagined
🐐🐐🐐
I have have some pumas that I was about to throw away they are jacked up there are holes in the shoe and the color came off and the foot pad foam is broken off and all of the shoelaces are brown and black and are jacked up and one of the shoelaces are teared if you can fix my shoes I br so happy
