Why did u like
Being able to solve a gear cube it was hilarious how dedicated he was to keeping the cube shape, like you can just fix that all at the very end...
I also solved gear cube myself and a "breakthrough" moment was when I realized that every gear has 6 teeth, and 6 is not divisible by four... so turning a single side 8 times makes the cube "correct" but with gears 1/3 turns wrong... one more tome and it's 2/3, and the last time it goes back to normal.
@Ryandal Gilmore yeah i also figured that out

When someone solves a puzzle with no tutorial and you can’t solve it with a tutorial.

Gear cube (of this type) uses just one algorithm for solve. In fact, one can solve them by just randomly rotating it.

It's difficult to put it down.

Way back when I first started cubing, I spent a few weeks trying to solve the 3x3 without any help. I got the 1st two layers down and I could move some things around on the last layer but I just couldn't get any farther and finally gave up and looked it up.
I've always felt lame for having given up on the original 3x3 so now, my whole approach is to figure every new puzzle out without any help no matter what. It's so much more rewarding. Even if my original solution is trash and I end up looking up better ones online _after_ I solve it myself at least once 😛
Try the ghost cube definitely one of the hardest 3x3 shape mods. I’d love to see you do it👍
It’s pretty easy imo, I think J perm would find out how to do it the same way I did
But you can do normal 3x3 algs, can't you?
@@skilllessbeast7416 I think it's just the same as something like a mirror cube where you just need to solve it according to shape, it still is of course a lot harder than a mirror cube

As someone who can’t solve a simple cube watching people solve these more complex puzzles and shapes is so impressive
You would be surprised how insanely difficult the 3x3 Rubik's cube is. Like, it genuinely is extremely challenging with no help.
@@cryolite08 But you are taught how to do it, and even then it can be confusing.
For a puzzle that is really really simple, all you do is turn one of the 6 sides of a cube, actually figuring out how to do that is too hard. Rubik took a whole month, and not only did he invent it, but he is also pretty smart.
Jperm: I'm not sure if this works
*5min* later : yeah so the cubes solved
For the gear pyraminx, I would match up the small centre pieces in order to get a good shape.
I recently bought the Gear family and also my pyraminx got misaligned two times and like you, I had to reassemble the whole thing, seems like if you force the turns, it happens, you need to twist it gently, get the cogs in motion and then you can turn it a little faster

Hi Dylan. I just wanted to tell you that I have watched your videos and tutorials since I started cubing (a bit less than 3 months ago) and I really enjoy them. I recently taught one of my friends 2-look OLL and 2-look PLL, and I used your way of explaining in your videos (as well as my own ways) to teach him, and he learned it in two days.
He was impressed by how fast I could turn and solve the cube (even though I’m averaging around 25 seconds), and that’s why he wanted to learn some of those algorithms.
Anyways, I like teaching people stuff I know since it makes me learn it better and we can have a good time together, and when I’m teaching people the Rubik’s cube your videos are extremely helpful, since I learned almost everything I can from you.
Cool story
I solved the ivy cube without algorythems, it's fun
Not to be rude but you don’t spell algorithm that way.....
For someone who claims to not be a puzzle enthusiast, you're amazing at intuitively solving strange puzzles!
You're my favorite cubing CZcamsr, and J perm is my favorite PLL (even though I use a much different alg, please don't hate me)

One of the cubes you said only turn like a 3x3 in the intro also turns as a curvy copter
@Marcel Mayer it was in one of z3 cubing's videos

I INVENTED A 2x2 ALGORITHM!!! It is technically a V-Perm on a 3x3, except (U' D) move set. when we reach the U' D set of moves, I turned the cube left and continued the algorithm. This only works when, on the yellow side, two pieces that are diagonal to each other are solved, and the other two aren't solved. I held the cube near one solved piece and did the alg.
idk if this was already an alg for 2x2, but I just listed it to make sure. I used this while doing Ortega, and it helped.
For the gear cube you need to do the layer by layer method.
I feel like better time spend watching 10 hours of cubing tutorial then any 10 hours of gameplay
For the 2x2x3, when you need to swap the two middle edges, just do R2 E2 R2
The Coin Pyraminx is like an Ivy Cube in a Pyraminx.
J Perm really needs to work on his non-WCA solving skills.
A general rule for solving any corner turning puzzles is to solve the corners first and use commutators for the edges. This works for many puzzles.
Thanks for the tip
