"To the hilt" is a reference to the use of daggers and swords. It means that you've stabbed someone as deep as you can, using the whole blade up to the hilt. Modern use simply means that sometime is done as much as it can be. Loaded to the hilt would mean loaded up with everything you can.

I'm glad you mentioned the absurdity of truck prices these days, basically limits the purchase of them to individuals or companies who can write them off as a business expense.

    • @danielrn133

They are selling them as fast as they can make them. The basic XL starts in the low 20s. How much cheaper do you want to "write off"?

I’m dating myself, but there was a time when pick-ups were much more affordable than passenger cars, although the list of available options was short. Back then, you mostly bought a pickup because you really needed one for work, towing, or country living. Somewhere along the line, pickups became trendy to own (especially 4x4’s) driving up the market and with the standard and available options, prices got out of hand. There is no way a Ford Ranger is worth anywhere near $50k... $35k would be a stretch. I admit, this Ranger is nice but I wouldn’t pay that price even if money didn’t matter.

The mating of motor and transmission will haul some serious ass. The Lariat was not worth the added expense to me. I got the truck I wanted in a price range that got me bang for buck. They include. off-road wheels, tires and suspension, a tune that adds 40 HP and 60 LB FT of torque and a cat-back exhaust. All of the things you mentioned are coming to fruition. You're so darn smart! It's always nice to see that you bring your penguin friends along for the ride. I can't imagine one of your car reviews without them. Keep up the great work. Love your channel.

I really wanted the F150 but it was too big and did not fit my driveway. The Ranger has fantastic gas milage and its quick like you said. I have the Lariat and picked this truck due to style, performance and overall very good experience with Ford. Only complaint was the truck was expensive and stupid named tires. I have a 2004 Ford explorer sport trac and try to use the keypad as much as I can, it's so useful when you want to get something in the truck and you dont have the keys to open it

Love my keypad. Use it all the time. Nice being able to grab something out of the truck without grabbing my keys first.

Hi Sarah! Quick question - If the rear diff was locked when you did the braking test, couldn't that explain the slipping feeling?

I had a 2008 for 12 years and loved it but wanted something new after so long I bought a 2020 Ranger but got the super cab version since I don't like the full on four doors and couldn't be happier this thing is a beast. Think the only thing I am going to do to it is put on a Raptor grill since they look so awesome.

I have a 2020 Ford Explorer and I like the key pad. I have used it to lock my keys or if I forgot something in it but don’t have the keys I hit the code and it opens. 👍

Duratec is such a versatile engine platform, super underrated IMO. you can pair multiple transmissions and tunability has been there since the engine was introduced back In 2004.
