Hey mark! Have you checked oil pressure with a manual gauge to make sure your gauge in the dash is not off a little bit? 30 is a little low. But 35psi is not uncommon either. Feel free to call us anytime with questions ! And thanks for watching! 435-743-5550

Hey bud wat about a ntc 400 big cam 1 cpl 267.....my oil pressure use to run 53 to 60 psi all day now it's staying around 45 to 50 and fluctuating back and forth really bad......just had it inframed and ut was doing it before inframe......I tried filters and changed piston coolers jyst other day and the big cam 1s do not have the bolt on bottom of oil pump so where would the spring and plunger be.....inframe is 2 weeks old.... had all three heads redone....new injectors... 15 to 1 high compression pistons....we put a formula aftercooler on it (that helped my boost a little bit) I have read and beem told that the big cam 1s ran earlier model oil pumps and the big cams 1s required more oul pressure tyan the 2s 3s and 4s and had idle pressure of 40 on hot motor and 50ish to 60 on hot high idle driving......now it's 20 psi hot idle at 770rpm and 45 to 50 flucatinh bad while driving.....I got a video I can send to u of the gauge to show u wat it's doing and I also changed the oil pressure guage three times and 3 different brands every one of them had same outcome.....my email is jseay5013@gmail.com I would like to talk to u uf possible would love to exchange phone numbers....I need some help.wirh

Where did you place the shim? I didn’t see exactly. Plunger end of spring or plug end?

      Plunger end!

I did that already and the oil pressure is still low. Should I get the rod bearings changed for maintenance and to see if it helps?

@@okijhbg it is probley a good idea to check them. But dropping the pan will also let you look and make sure there is not a piston oiler broken because that will cause low oil pressure for sure. If the bearings look good. It Might just need an oil pump. But if I had to guess, Chances are it needs a bearing or piston oiler
