When you’re praying Vishnu, a part of Shiva in you is praying and vice versa! You like what you lack and you aim whats on other end of greatness. Is it ok to pray and surrender to one god . Is it ok if we choose to not ask help from one . I love lord shiva so much . I respect hari . I know both are equal . It is completely ok. At the end you have to have complete sharnagati to one form only. But our advaiti sharnagati is different from the vaishnava sharnagati in a way that we will never disrespect bhagvan vishnu even when we are having sharnagati towards shiva, we know that even bhagwan vishnu's bhakta can attain moksha same for bhakta of bhagvan shiva.
If you watch this video carefully, Jagadguru has said, pick one form of Bhagavan and worship him/her with utmost devotion. This is the concept of Ista Devata and there is nothing wrong in what you are doing. As Advaitin, only thing to keep in mind is not to disrespect or degrade any form of Bhagavan.
Hi, nice question, you are totally right, just fix yourself on any form you like or admire, see all the other forms in that one form, just have complete trust on Him / Her. Few have intentions to change mind when they are in troubles and think that God whom they are trusting is not responding, so they have to change to other God...!! Nothing like that, whether we believe in one God or multiple Gods finally our prayers reach to SINGLE ALMIGHTY only. Personally, I'm admired more towards Rama avathara, than other incarnations, but still I pray to other Gods also, can be Vishnu's incarnations or Lord Shiva or Goddess. JAI SRIRAMA
I wish all hindus and muslims understand this basic logic of existence of God. All violence and destroying places of worship will come to end. Unfortunately today the more religious people are the more evil and in-tolerant they are. I think only atheist are only people living in peace.
How can you even think of comparing human made religions and Gods of an organised religion with the immemorial and permanent Sanatana Dharma?.... please start reading more scriptures and listen to Pravachanas by Gurus.
