It is not a beach city I'm in Murrieta but one city over in Lake Elsinore is plagued with homelessness and drugs and it continues all the way to LA. Because the entire university system has been restructured around catering to them and leaving men behind. Similar bias exists towards all minority groups. When I was a tutor for the computer science department, the tutoring program was a part of the “Initiative for Inclusion and Diversity in Computing” and a diversity statement was a required part of my job application.
