Swam 50 laps or walked or both everyday. I remember as a small child watching him do that in his 60's, 70's 80's and yes even into his 90's before health issues finally caught up. He set a precedence for me that now at 44 I've tried to follow in my own life. Yep!! Unfortunately it takes more effort and supervision than administering meds… My grandad asked every day to be allowed to workout. Even when he could no longer get up by himself at 93 he was lifting his legs and exercising in his chair. If someone had been able to help him get up and moving daily I’m convinced he wouldn’t have deteriorated so much from a skilled rower in his 70s to very frail in his 80s due to Parkinson’s.

This is so encouraging, especially to us younger folks. If we are in decent health but need to start being more active, what are we waiting for? Thank you for this!
Super important for old people to do some strenght training because muscle wasting becomes a serious issue if you stop moving or think you're too old to do things.
This. This is who I want to be like, healthwise when I reach that age. 81 and he's still strong. Imagine still being able to travel and do your hobbies at that age. Amazing.
That's why it's so important to be active as you age. Granted you can't prevent everything but paying the cost of taking care of yourself over the years will allow you to enjoy your elder years. The worse thing you can do is not be active as you age. You'll be less likely to need as much additional care/attention and it will take some pressure off of your loved ones who you may otherwise rely on to help you.
I was 52 when my 72 year old father told me he did 200 pushups every day except Sunday. I realized what a wimp I was. When I started, I struggled to do 10. Within a year I did 500. I'm 63 now and still do 200 a day, and 60 in one minute. Never let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do.
My grandpa is 90 and can do pushups and core rollers. For his age it is incredible and I have much respect for him being more fit than most people probably
This is EXACTLY what I’m looking for with my Mom!! She’s 83 and developing dementia but I believe we can turn it around with whole-food-plant-based eating and the Bredersen Protocol, and transforming her body is what I want her to be able to see she can do! 🙌💗

Make sure she takes high potency B12 supplements. Many elderly people have low B12 in the first place, so get her levels checked, also. No B12 in plants.
This gives me hope for myself. At 40 i keep calling myself old and basically giving up. Im withdrawing and living a solitary life style. I see this. Hes not giving up. Hes living. Actually living his fullest. I want that for myself.

People already face enough obstacles or challenges getting into fitness and exercise, and your comment is just discouraging and the opposite of what people wanna hear. They know they should’ve started sooner, but that’s not the point lol

The moment he stopped when his coach said 'we'll be doing another set' I felt that! Like, yeah I can keep going!... but not if I have to do another rep 😅😭
I’m so happy for him. This is so inspiring.
This shows that it’s NEVER too late to start because as long as you stick with it you’ll definitely see results. Love this!💪🏾👊🏾
❤
Wholesome stuff! I like her approval and encouragement, “perfect daddy, that’s wonderful!”
The INSPIRATIO. I NEEDED to go on.. I'm 62 and a couple of months started my PT sessions...this week, I was thinking 🤔 maybe I'm TOO OLD at 62 yrs and maybe I should stop...then up comes this amazing MOTIVATIONAL video. 😊
GREAT MAN absolutely inspirational 👏👏👏👏 🏆 ✌️ 💪 🏆
It is such a privilege to watch this. Thank u for posting.
This is very encouraging..thank you! ❤
I’m several years younger, but I can’t do half of what he just did. I’m getting busy NOW!!!❤
I was LITERALLY about to type this.
Gives me hope for the work we just started with my 75 year old father.
I'm so grateful for his youthful spirit!! I keep telling my 71 year old mom that it can be done if she wants to do the work!!
My 76 yr old mother does Pilates 2x wk for the last few years, she would be in a wheelchair otherwise, it has truly saved her mobility, it's expensive and she talks about cutting back to 1 day a week but it would affect her strength and ability to walk in the long run, it's a necessary expense... she and my dad went on a cruise last spring to Alaska for their 50th anniversary! The girl that leads her Pilates is 23 and so sweet
@terrasseberry5403 👏🥰
It’s great that you’re trying to get your Mom to exercise, it’s a great physical & mental benefit at all ages. I’m a Zumba Fitness Instructor & my current oldest student in my Sr. class is age 90 & she still loves to squat all the way down to the floor during some of the routines & I go right down with her & WE CRACK UP LAUGHING 🤣💦
@@cleanserene6330That’s great that your Mom works out twice a week! I love hearing this! YES, it’s definitely worth it for her mentally & physically! My oldest Zumba Fitness student is 90 & she can do some moves that my 60ish age students can’t because SHE stays ACTIVE! My oldest has been age 92! If the cost really becomes an issue, instead of cutting back, I’d see if there are government funded fitness facilities in her area where she can attend for free. They do exist. Tell your Mom to KEEP UP THE PHENOMENAL WORK! 💪🤩 #SheROCKS ❤
Tell her to start with just 5 minutes a day.
And tell her it’s not work…..it’s beautiful graceful movement which her body craves.
Stop believing what they tell you. You don't have to get weaker as you get older! Props to this man!
That is wonderful to see he’s keeping it up with his health and vitality too many people at that age decided to stay without any movement and physical activity 😮😢
I'm 62 and have putting off resuming my fitness routine for over a year... And I am inspired to see his progress in one year. I'm challenging myself to get started tomorrow. 👍🏽😁👍🏽 Congrats! 😍
How’s it going? 🎉
Cmon, we want to know how it's going? You can do it, just try for a bit, then a bit more when it gets easy!
@@surfnyollyI started yesterday with some burpees and planks. 👍🏽😁👍🏽 Thanks for asking! ❤️

@@JudiVentress you got this! It's getting the routine going, the hardest part is starting, the routine gets it easier every day. And every day of that routine will make you stronger. Good for you Judi! Much admiration and respect for you, and life will be easier and better this coming summer.
His whole vibe changed. Fitness really changes you from the inside out ☺️
What an accomplishment!!! I'm so proud! 🥰🥰💪🏾🥰
With that enthusiastic encouraging supportive voice behind the video ! LLLOVE IT ! ❤
More then Goggins, the people that inspire me when it comes to health are people like this. People in their 80s and 90s still moving and still working on there body
At 81 he do a better push up then most young guys I see u OG👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Original Grandpa
I was going to say the same 😂thing
He literally didn't even make one push up in the video. Great progress and amazing that he is this active. But that just aren't pushups, and with that form it doesn't have any effect whatsoever.
On the tips of his toes as well 😤💪
Very impressive for his age but he was doing half push ups.
I’m not sure anyone’s aware of how much emotion this kind of thing gives me. Inspired
Inspiring ole man ❤ they sure don’t make em like that anymore ❤❤❤❤ treasure him ❤
This is ABSOLUTELY Phenomenal! And, a TESTIMONY to what consistency can do for ANYBODY at ANY AGE!!!! #Warrior
What a warrior! Thank you for the inspiration. Age is just a number.
I hope I'm half as fit, agile & strong as you Grand Pa when I'm 81
You're💙💚❤Awesome
That moment when he kept pushing, when you told him to stop, what an inspiration, essence of indominable human spirit
Omg. The way he got up at the end so effortlessly. Beautifully done. Thank you for the inspiration ❤❤❤
Yes, I noticed that, too!
Reminds me of my neighbor. He was in his in his 80’s and I would often see him at the local gym with a big smile on his face. He was in better shape than a lot of 20 year olds. He was such an inspiration to me. I miss you J.
You got to respect that hard work! He is probably better shape than most half his age. I would just be really worried about his joints. I can't imagine that he doesn't have joint pain.
LOVEEEEEE IT!!!! As a fitness professional myself, these are the accomplishments that are gold. But I have to say, he is so feeling confident, because he started when he was wearing his glasses, now he is rocking the 😎!!!! Like, "Yeah, I got this." 👍🏽
Yep. That's the motivation I needed today. I'm 1 week into working out again, and it's tough to stay focused. If this man can do it, so can I.
Yes! You can do it. Keep it up for your good health. You deserve all the good benefits @winstonsmith11
How's it going?
It's fantastic to see. He's an absolute champion.
Damn this motivate me. Thank you grand grand!
I just turned 71 and had open heart surgery 3 mos ago for a congenital heart defect. In my 40,50’s I did CrossFit, boot camps, 50 bike rides💪ran parking garage ramps etc. Always channeled’Failure is not an Option’. I attribute my fitness earlier rituals w how quickly I recovered from surgery. Kudos to this wonderful man for his strong convictions💪Hope you live and love till you are 100!!!! and beyond. Bravo 🙌 to YOU ❤
Congratulations on a successful surgery. I love your message and while I'm a bit younger than you, I've also committed to lifelong fitness. Thank you!
You are a hero to me. Im 60 and ive been struggling to keep going... Keep blessing others
This is so encouraging, especially to us younger folks. If we are in decent health but need to start being more active, what are we waiting for? Thank you for this!
Super important for old people to do some strenght training because muscle wasting becomes a serious issue if you stop moving or think you're too old to do things.
Is no one going to compliment how encouraging the trainer was?
😎 Indeed!! He has every right to be proud of the power and strength he built up!!

Love this! Dignity to the elder generation! They are so valuable to our society. I hope this becomes a movement.
I think it is a movement. I’m 82 and in the gym 3x’s a week and walk 3x’s a week. It’s my superpower!
@@MyQuitters Kudos to you and thanks for sharing such an important, life-affirming message.
ASTOUNDING!!! 🎉 FANTASTIC!!! WHAT AN INSPIRATION!!! THANK YOU!!!
Wow! He’s awesome @ 81 years young. 👏👏👏
This. This is who I want to be like, healthwise when I reach that age. 81 and he's still strong. Imagine still being able to travel and do your hobbies at that age. Amazing.
Same, I want to be like him if I ever reach that age. Still strong and healthy
That’s my goal too if I reach his age.
Good work!
Beautiful transformation and beautiful home.
God bless the people tha help and encourage the elderly to improve their health like this.
impressive af. we should all hope to do such things at this age.
I’m twice his age and do twice as much weight. Child’s play.

Honored, lady laughed is so sweet
I love that this person is encouraging their parents on a health journey. It’s amazing to be able to have a profound good impact on the ones you love.
This is EXACTLY what I’m looking for with my Mom!! She’s 83 and developing dementia but I believe we can turn it around with whole-food-plant-based eating and the Bredersen Protocol, and transforming her body is what I want her to be able to see she can do! 🙌💗
That's exactly tly right😂
That's great, I'm glad you know about Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition for even more health benefits and longevity, also the book "How not to age" by Dr. Michael Greger that just came out! Also, Drs. Dean and Ayesha Sherzai (you already mentioned Dr. Dale Bredesen) :)
Make sure she takes high potency B12 supplements. Many elderly people have low B12 in the first place, so get her levels checked, also. No B12 in plants.
Lots of greens(detox any existing heavy metals), lots of walking and strength training. Praying for you and your mom🙏🏻
I needed this so much today...thx for the inspiration 🙏🏾
I’m 62. This man motivates me. Will start weightlifting next month.
This is a great reminder the body is waiting for us to do the right things to it. Super transformation
This gives me hope for myself. At 40 i keep calling myself old and basically giving up. Im withdrawing and living a solitary life style. I see this. Hes not giving up. Hes living. Actually living his fullest. I want that for myself.
I love this video - it's a great feeling to see someone commit to themselves and see the progress that results. He also demonstrates that it's NEVER too late.
When men stop moving, they die. Bless both of yall.
