    We don’t need to sell players as a statement. We need to sell them because they’re not good enough to play for a Manchester United team that wants to compete at the top. I dont expect us to get rid of everyone we need to in the same window, but we should be looking to sell as many as humanly possible as quickly as possible.

    The main reason ten hag hasn't been sacked or backed is the fact that Ineos are leaving the decision to the football people.. Wilcox has only been there two weeks and Berrada and Ashworth haven't even started..
    They all have to agree on a football style and vision going forward, then see if ten hag fits that vision..

The pundits made a comment on how the roof in the stands was no protection and they were still getting soaked, and made a bit of a joke about it! Embarrassing! That's all I can say... • @Ebamber3
    @Ebamber3 Před 23 dny

    another important thing I don't see a lot of people talking about is the financial aspect of keeping managers around to see out their contracts
    For 10 years, we've been offering managers the same ludicrous contracts we've been offering players. When we sack the managers, the last years wages don't just disappear into the void, sacking a manager entails paying off the rest of their contract to relieve them of it same as it would be if we just tore up a player's contract; we then promptly go and promise another ludicrous contract to the next manager. Every time we sack a manager, we've essentially thrown away millions; so the whole "oh we'll just give you a 5 year contract and sack you in 2 if you're not up to standard" approach is poor financial planning on top of being very short sighted.
    Teams can have lulls in form ranging a few seasons, happened to Arsenal a few years ago. It's a much better approach to just give managers short term contracts, let them see the entire thing out and reevaluate their position at the end of the contract based not on their performance in 1 season in isolation, but in their entire career for the club overall. 3 years (overall) should be enough of a sample to make an educated decision on Ten Hag's future for the club based on his entire time at the club. It's quite frankly ridiculous to only judge the manager based on a rough patch in isolation; any time I see other fans of the club argue against that, it genuinely makes me laugh at how stupid and short sighted they all are

    It's as if they're not seeing the big picture about EtH from Ineos' perspective. Other than a slight upturn in form if players realised the manager would be staying on there is very little to gain.
    Making a statement in favour of ten hag, given the results this season, would mean making their choice for the future. Ineos have just got their feet under the table at United. It makes more sense to bring in the hierarchy, let them make their assessments and act from there.
    Bringing in a new manager, before thorough analysis, to maybe scrape a trophy and then have to sack him 18 months down the line would leave the fan base and pundits asking themselves if anything at the club has changed since ineos came in.

    I see a window of opportunity opening up in the next couple of seasons which could lead us to the title in May 27.. and a more sustainable position from there on.
    Klopp leaving next week will see that team start to break up over the next 18 months,
    I believe next season will be Pep's last (if not sooner) and that current shitty team also break up.
    Arsenal will fall away also over the same period especially as they will fail to win the title again this season.. (belief & moral will dip)
    Spurs will just be Spurs.
    Newcastle will get stronger of course and provide a strong challenge.
    The point being, If the correct decisions are made at United this summer (the most important in our recent history) and the process of removing the dead wood is started in earnest and replaced by better, and strengthened over the next three/four windows there is absolutely no reason why we couldn't win the title in the 26/27 season...

    Appointing Ten Hag was a risk as he didn’t have a CV that suggested he was capable of managing Utd. Liverpool are taking a similar risk with their new guy. Clubs seems to be prioritising ‘style of play’ over managers with track records of success and delivery. Moyes at West Ham is another example- their most successful manager is getting the boot because he doesn’t fit the modern hipster mould. A truly elite club seeking a new manager should ideally be appointing someone that has previously won a top 5 league, and/or a champions league (preferably both). This is the approach of Real, City, Bayern etc. Of the rumoured replacements, only Tuchel, Jose and Nagelsmann have a good enough CV
