I always thought Dracula's special abilities weren't inherent or related to him being a vampire.i always believed he just had more time to study magics and learned more than the average vampire.
Different versions do it differently, but in the games he is either empowered by Chaos or "the forgotten one" an ancient demon. Both of these are insanely powerful with Chaos being equal with God and the forgotten one being more powerful than the devil. Whichever they use of inspiration unless God (true God) pops up he will be the most powerful entity you will see. He is so insanely OP it's actually mind boggling. I'm sure Netflix may explain his powers differently but unless they do a hard turn from the very idea of Castlevania he will still be miles ahead of anything else in power.

Interesting fact that I like to mention, the key had no souls left in it after Death drained its power. So to open the corridor Saint Germain must have used his own soul to save Trevor.
What I love most about Alucard is that, unlike many powerful and important vampires, he abhors his undead life and considers his immortality the worst of curses, reminding us of other iconic tragic vampires like Eli from "Let the Right One In " or Louis from "Interview with the Vampire". As Count Orlok said in "Werner Herzog's Nosferatu": "Death is a horrible thing. But there are things even more horrible than death..."
Well, the show made it pretty clear that as a Damphyre (Human/Vampire Hybrid) , Adrian is not undead unlikely to both baseline vampires and his father. He's pretty much live and full of warn blood flowing into his veins. He's just... colder and undead-like.

He wasn't turned by the first vampire, but rather he "stoled" the power of another vampire called Walter Bernhard using a vampiric artifact called the crimson stone, Walter could still be considered his "sire" of sorts, but that was what Dracula meant when he said he was no ordinary vampire, because he was turned by magic rather than the traditional mean of being drained and drinking vampire blood. He did this bc he hated God for the death of his first wife Elisabetha due to an illness, which drove him mad with grief and became a vampire to spite God, he changed his name to Vlad Tepes a long time after. Also, this is just a theory of mine, but the dagger that Trevor used to kill Death could have been made by Dracula when he was still Mathias after Elisabetha's death, Trevor said the dagger was made by a mad wizard to wanted to enact a murder-suicide pact on God, and since we know Dracula is a powerful mad suicidal vampire-wizard who hates God, the dagger could have been one of the first things he tried to use to enact his vengeance on God before finally resorting to become a vampire.
Netflix Dracula has NOTHING to do with his videogame counterpart as proven during his encounter with Trevor only to reply with the dialogue: _"So you must be the Belmont"_ instead of something like: _"So Leon kept his promise"_ prooving he had NO HISTORY with the Belmont clan prior to Trevor facing him thus severing any chance for Mathias Cronqvist to be the same Dracula that we see in the Netflix "adaptation".

Though this may simply be an homage, there's no reason to disregard the possibility simply because the character doesn't spell out what had happened prior to the show.
Maybe the reason Lisa is in Hell is because of Dracula? I seen some particular scenes in another franchise where someone who deserved to be in Heaven voluntarily goes to Hell to be with the one they love. I’m this case, it’s Lisa wanting to literally go to Hell to be with Dracula.

I guess Death can be considered a sort of "vampiric entity/spirit" not a vampire, but related to vampires in the sense that he feeds of the lifeforce of mortals through their souls leaving their bodies when they die instead of blood, he may even be a kind of proto-vampire.
Death is a sort of elemental, a being made not of flesh or stone or fire, but made entirely of the last moments of every creature. With every death, he gets a bit stronger

With the introduction of nocturne my own head cannon for Dracula’s strength is that he was a mage (or at least had the potential) and now due to being a vampire he has had hundreds of not thousands of years to learn and practice.

The reason Lisa was in hell is actually only subtly explained through WHERE in hell she is found. What illuminates the area and the fact she was waiting for dracula at all. Lisa had in fact gone to heaven when she was murdered by the tainted bishop and the corrupted church and was truly offered acceptance into heaven but she DENIED her own entrance knowing Dracula would end up in hell when he died and she knew it wouldn't be heaven without him there with her. So she wanted to be sent to hell to wait for dracula when he eventually dies and winds up there. God himself gave Lisa his blessing and let her go to hell to await the one she loved. In hell Lisa is found by dracula living inside a BURNED DOWN church. The symbolism in that should be self explanitory. The entire area is devoid of tortured souls and the ONLY light in the area is not from fires of hell but a beam from the sky. The beam of light literally coming from heaven itself shining down on the area like a beacon to draw dracula there. Because of Lisa's love and devotion to her husband and being willing to endure hell itself just to be with him God concecrated that ground in hell to allow Lisa's pure soul to not only stay in hell but to stay SAFE in hell free from being hunted and tortured by those who are there for actual redemption and punishment while she waited for dracula to show up so they could be together. Its such a good form of story telling when the subtleties of characters and the environment itself give you the answers you're seeking for shows, movies games and the like. Also interviews and behind the scenes information is also a massive boon.
It’s a fresh and innovating idea that they made Dracula an anti hero it makes the character more relatable and interesting and the irony is this version of Dracula is more human than those human characters. What I think of how Trevor, Dracula and Lisa got a second chance was when Death Was defeated by Trevor in that very instance Death was not present to feast on the souls, thereby those that died during that exact moment were given a second chance.
okay here's a bit of history regarding castlevania's dracula. the main timeline not the Lord's of Shadow timeline. Dracula was once called Matthias cronqvist a scholar and master tactician during the crusade he "was" a close friend of Leon Belmont, who was already a skilled knight. the two had one countless battles until matthias's fiance elizabetha died of an illness, during Leon's final battle with walter it is revealed that Matthias planned the encounter all along. from the walter turnng rinaldo gandolfi's daughter to a vampire, forcing him to forge the "whip of alchemy" to leon getting a hold it and the whip eventually being infused with sarah's vampiric soul into it, turning it into the "vampire killer" and finally walter's defeat at leon's hand. as it turns out Matthias faked his illness all along and was watching from the sidelines as his plans unfolds, he waited until leon defeats walter and with the help of death absorbed his vampiric soul into his with the use of the Ebony Stone, now merged with the crimson stone which walter bernhard used. he later revealed that the whole ordeal was his plan to become an immortal in order to spite god for taking away his beloved elizabetha, and even offered leon the same power as he had also suffered the loss of a love one which, he declined, as he no longer see's matthias as his friend nor human anymore and that he also felt an unbridled rage coming from the whip when matthias revealed himself.
Lords of shadow dracula is my fav incarnation of him in all of fiction the dude is litteraly omnipatent for the most part. able to mach god and satan in raw power and durability. Dude litteraly survives holding a cross theat emits the force of sevrul nukes. and just shrugs it off like it was a slight breez. That is rediculessly op.
There was one that I've seen that I think you'd like! It's a foreign film, depending where in the world you are: it's called "We Are the Night" or "Wir Sind Die Nacht". It's about vampires, and focuses around someone that goes through the change of it. The lore behind the vampires in this is kinda interesting, and some character backstories were cool too imo. I liked it and can't remember where I've seen it. Either on Netflix or some other platform 🤷

Lisa is in hell because she chose to be there. You can see the light shining on on her from her side, so the light of heaven reaches her even in the darkest corner of hell, she just chose to be with Dracula. Also it should be noted that Dracula, even after YEARS of not feeding (possibly decades if he stopped after meeting Lisa) still would have never died if he didnt let Alucard kill him. Imagine if Dracula was at full strength when he fought them. It would have been like a toddler fighting a full grown Siberian tiger.
Varney also shares a similar name with Varnae, the first Vampire in the world of Conan The Barbarian. He also happens to be a gigantilopithicus, and a wizard. Magic vampire King Kong.
I think the reason why Lisa was in Hell with Dracula was because she wanted to be with him. And besides. Even after what Dracula did before being killed by Alucard, she still loved him. And Dracula sill loved her.
Since Leon Belmont is proven to be the First Vampire Hunter from the Belmont Bloodline even in the Netflix Series, I think this is also pointing at Dracula still being Matthias Conquist in the Netflix Series, Leon's former best friend who decided to become a Vampire to defy God for making humans mortal after his first Wife passed away
Dracula's story is a metaphor of humanity scorning and persecuting exceptional people, on the basis of being different than the rest of them. It's like the "elite" is envious and afraid of their skills and talent, and do anything they can to bring them down to their level, or sink them lower.

8:48 when I first saw this scene I thought it was an angel coming to warn him that the consequences would be severe. Like I thought opening up the “shield” the separates hell from earth is something that CAN be done, but heavily frowned upon by heaven.
I also noticed that the further “up” things are in this universe, the more hellish they appear. While things that are “down” appear “good”. Like the Belmont library was deep down, but the night creatures that attacked seem to come from a hole in the sky.

long story short dracula tricked his best friend (the first belmont to become a vampire hunter because of this) and a very powerful vampire to fight and with his best friend winning dracula's plan of becoming a true immortal was working, he used a vampire relic the vampire had in his possion to control death and put the vampires spirit and power in the orb for dracula to obsorb (and a few other things) then boom true immortal with insane power, oh and it all started because dracula's wife died in the name of god thats why he goes nutts in the show because it happened again kind of thing.
The problem I had is that he threw away everything his wife taught him about humanity, deciding that her ENTIRE species should be wiped out due to the actions of a few.
Seems kinda weird to me that death didn't have the foresight to predict, that no entity causes more death than humans themselves. If he would've just stayed put he could've gone all you can eat with future world wars approaching etc.
300 years after the original series he's definetly _dead_ with the videogames having no reason for him to show up again for the animated series to do as such. We might still get a reference to him and the city he was rebuilding at the end of Season 4 but to be honest i'm pretty sure he's not showing up ever again.
By the way you can follow dracula's origin how he became a vampire. I think it was in the game with Leon Belmont. I think he was Leon Belmonts friend before becoming a vampire. I forgot the game name but it was castlevania and was so long ago in the PS2. The thing is it was canon and serve as a prequel to the castlevania games up to symphony of the night.
The best theory for Lisa being there is she asked to go willingly so she could see Dracula again. That's why she's seen with light shining on her because she still has God's love.

There's a lot of backstory in other games in the Castlevania franchise. There is some indication that time itself is not linear, and people from collapsing pantheons and planes of reality tend to go feral when whatever powers them gets shut off. Becoming a vampire can prevent them from falling apart and keep some form of power. That's how you get so many weird looking vampires in the Castlevania franchise. They also act as a form of evil police against other forms of chaotic evil.

Id like to imagine he is an ancient vampire that is far older than his video game versions, this would explain how he is so powerful. For example that vampire that was in the latest series that was originally an Egyptian priestess was nowhere near as powerful as Dracula but must have been at least 1000 years old.
Iirc Vlad Tepes was a gifted scientist who made himself a vampire by science thus his increased strength and unique abilities compared to other vampires.
I like that Dracula was not the first vampire like he often is portayed to be. In the universe I have been creating and writing stories about, Dracula is also not the first vampire but rather a great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson of the first vampress who was from the country of Romania.

I will note that this tends to apply more so to Abrahamic religions and even then only to some of the more orthodox interpretations/branches of such. Not only do most other religious traditions have such elements integrated within the religious structure, but many heterodox Abrahamic traditions have magic and miracle-working as part of their framework as well. That said, in-universe within the show, it is entirely possible this is the reason Lisa finds herself in Hell. Other reasons include willingly laying with the dead (Dracula), spawning an abomination in the eyes of God (Alucard), mixing cloth of wool and linen (i.e. Leviticus 19:19 / Deuteronomy 22:11), or because plot.

Maybe the reason Lisa is in Hell is because of Dracula? I seen some particular scenes in another franchise where someone who deserved to be in Heaven voluntarily goes to Hell to be with the one they love. I’m this case, it’s Lisa wanting to literally go to Hell to be with Dracula.

I guess Death can be considered a sort of "vampiric entity/spirit" not a vampire, but related to vampires in the sense that he feeds of the lifeforce of mortals through their souls leaving their bodies when they die instead of blood, he may even be a kind of proto-vampire.
Death is a sort of elemental, a being made not of flesh or stone or fire, but made entirely of the last moments of every creature. With every death, he gets a bit stronger
I love the fact that Castlevania's Dracula became Lord of the Vampires for the same reason as Coppola's Dracula, both taking revenge against God for the unjust death of their beloved Elizabetha. Without a doubt the best origin of Dracula 😎

With the introduction of nocturne my own head cannon for Dracula’s strength is that he was a mage (or at least had the potential) and now due to being a vampire he has had hundreds of not thousands of years to learn and practice.
*Fun fact:* Alucard is inspired by several characters of the same name from some of the classic Dracula movies, most notably Count Alucard from the 1943 classic film "Son of Dracula" and Johnny Alucard, the main henchman of Christopher Lee's Dracula during the 1970s in "Dracula A.D. 1972"

The reason Lisa was in hell is actually only subtly explained through WHERE in hell she is found. What illuminates the area and the fact she was waiting for dracula at all. Lisa had in fact gone to heaven when she was murdered by the tainted bishop and the corrupted church and was truly offered acceptance into heaven but she DENIED her own entrance knowing Dracula would end up in hell when he died and she knew it wouldn't be heaven without him there with her. So she wanted to be sent to hell to wait for dracula when he eventually dies and winds up there. God himself gave Lisa his blessing and let her go to hell to await the one she loved.
In hell Lisa is found by dracula living inside a BURNED DOWN church. The symbolism in that should be self explanitory. The entire area is devoid of tortured souls and the ONLY light in the area is not from fires of hell but a beam from the sky. The beam of light literally coming from heaven itself shining down on the area like a beacon to draw dracula there. Because of Lisa's love and devotion to her husband and being willing to endure hell itself just to be with him God concecrated that ground in hell to allow Lisa's pure soul to not only stay in hell but to stay SAFE in hell free from being hunted and tortured by those who are there for actual redemption and punishment while she waited for dracula to show up so they could be together.
Its such a good form of story telling when the subtleties of characters and the environment itself give you the answers you're seeking for shows, movies games and the like. Also interviews and behind the scenes information is also a massive boon.

It’s a fresh and innovating idea that they made Dracula an anti hero it makes the character more relatable and interesting and the irony is this version of Dracula is more human than those human characters. What I think of how Trevor, Dracula and Lisa got a second chance was when Death Was defeated by Trevor in that very instance Death was not present to feast on the souls, thereby those that died during that exact moment were given a second chance.
okay here's a bit of history regarding castlevania's dracula. the main timeline not the Lord's of Shadow timeline.
Dracula was once called Matthias cronqvist a scholar and master tactician during the crusade he "was" a close friend of Leon Belmont, who was already a skilled knight. the two had one countless battles until matthias's fiance elizabetha died of an illness, during Leon's final battle with walter it is revealed that Matthias planned the encounter all along. from the walter turnng rinaldo gandolfi's daughter to a vampire, forcing him to forge the "whip of alchemy" to leon getting a hold it and the whip eventually being infused with sarah's vampiric soul into it, turning it into the "vampire killer" and finally walter's defeat at leon's hand. as it turns out Matthias faked his illness all along and was watching from the sidelines as his plans unfolds, he waited until leon defeats walter and with the help of death absorbed his vampiric soul into his with the use of the Ebony Stone, now merged with the crimson stone which walter bernhard used. he later revealed that the whole ordeal was his plan to become an immortal in order to spite god for taking away his beloved elizabetha, and even offered leon the same power as he had also suffered the loss of a love one which, he declined, as he no longer see's matthias as his friend nor human anymore and that he also felt an unbridled rage coming from the whip when matthias revealed himself.

Lords of shadow dracula is my fav incarnation of him in all of fiction the dude is litteraly omnipatent for the most part. able to mach god and satan in raw power and durability. Dude litteraly survives holding a cross theat emits the force of sevrul nukes. and just shrugs it off like it was a slight breez. That is rediculessly op.

There was one that I've seen that I think you'd like! It's a foreign film, depending where in the world you are: it's called "We Are the Night" or "Wir Sind Die Nacht". It's about vampires, and focuses around someone that goes through the change of it. The lore behind the vampires in this is kinda interesting, and some character backstories were cool too imo.
I liked it and can't remember where I've seen it. Either on Netflix or some other platform 🤷

It is quite curious to think that Alucard, apart from being the son of Dracula, can be considered a descendant of Attila the Hun himself, considering this famous phrase from the vampire lord:
"What devil or what witch was ever so great as Attila, whose blood is in these veins?"
That's in the Coppola movie where he's actually Vlad Tepes, in castlevania he was born Mathias Cronqvist a crusader knight four centuries earlier and just changed his name to Vlad after becoming a vampire

Lisa is in hell because she chose to be there. You can see the light shining on on her from her side, so the light of heaven reaches her even in the darkest corner of hell, she just chose to be with Dracula.
Also it should be noted that Dracula, even after YEARS of not feeding (possibly decades if he stopped after meeting Lisa) still would have never died if he didnt let Alucard kill him. Imagine if Dracula was at full strength when he fought them. It would have been like a toddler fighting a full grown Siberian tiger.
Varney also shares a similar name with Varnae, the first Vampire in the world of Conan The Barbarian. He also happens to be a gigantilopithicus, and a wizard. Magic vampire King Kong.

Dracula's story is a metaphor of humanity scorning and persecuting exceptional people, on the basis of being different than the rest of them. It's like the "elite" is envious and afraid of their skills and talent, and do anything they can to bring them down to their level, or sink them lower.

8:48 when I first saw this scene I thought it was an angel coming to warn him that the consequences would be severe. Like I thought opening up the “shield” the separates hell from earth is something that CAN be done, but heavily frowned upon by heaven.
I also noticed that the further “up” things are in this universe, the more hellish they appear. While things that are “down” appear “good”. Like the Belmont library was deep down, but the night creatures that attacked seem to come from a hole in the sky.

long story short dracula tricked his best friend (the first belmont to become a vampire hunter because of this) and a very powerful vampire to fight and with his best friend winning dracula's plan of becoming a true immortal was working, he used a vampire relic the vampire had in his possion to control death and put the vampires spirit and power in the orb for dracula to obsorb (and a few other things) then boom true immortal with insane power, oh and it all started because dracula's wife died in the name of god thats why he goes nutts in the show because it happened again kind of thing.
In the other Castlevania Lore Dracula was the first vampire

The problem I had is that he threw away everything his wife taught him about humanity, deciding that her ENTIRE species should be wiped out due to the actions of a few.
Seems kinda weird to me that death didn't have the foresight to predict, that no entity causes more death than humans themselves. If he would've just stayed put he could've gone all you can eat with future world wars approaching etc.

300 years after the original series he's definetly _dead_ with the videogames having no reason for him to show up again for the animated series to do as such. We might still get a reference to him and the city he was rebuilding at the end of Season 4 but to be honest i'm pretty sure he's not showing up ever again.

I forgot the game name but it was castlevania and was so long ago in the PS2. The thing is it was canon and serve as a prequel to the castlevania games up to symphony of the night.

There's a lot of backstory in other games in the Castlevania franchise. There is some indication that time itself is not linear, and people from collapsing pantheons and planes of reality tend to go feral when whatever powers them gets shut off. Becoming a vampire can prevent them from falling apart and keep some form of power. That's how you get so many weird looking vampires in the Castlevania franchise. They also act as a form of evil police against other forms of chaotic evil.

Id like to imagine he is an ancient vampire that is far older than his video game versions, this would explain how he is so powerful. For example that vampire that was in the latest series that was originally an Egyptian priestess was nowhere near as powerful as Dracula but must have been at least 1000 years old.

In the universe I have been creating and writing stories about, Dracula is also not the first vampire but rather a great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson of the first vampress who was from the country of Romania.
In many beliefs and religions performing magic and alchemy is an automatic ticket to hell even if you use it for best reasons and pure heart
but isn't that the same as admitting magic and alchemy are real and were thus created by a given deity? they should just turn the magic option off in the universe settings if they don't want it used

I will note that this tends to apply more so to Abrahamic religions and even then only to some of the more orthodox interpretations/branches of such. Not only do most other religious traditions have such elements integrated within the religious structure, but many heterodox Abrahamic traditions have magic and miracle-working as part of their framework as well.
That said, in-universe within the show, it is entirely possible this is the reason Lisa finds herself in Hell. Other reasons include willingly laying with the dead (Dracula), spawning an abomination in the eyes of God (Alucard), mixing cloth of wool and linen (i.e. Leviticus 19:19 / Deuteronomy 22:11), or because plot.
