I've been watching these videos a while from a few of you now and started to wonder if I should join in on making videos. But hearing about your problem with videos, I lost all interest. I'd have too many figures anyway that youtube would randomly hate for no proper reason. They are art, how hard is it to understand nobody buys them for sexual purposes?
Your patreon solution sound like a good idea. Sadly I avoid those for other reasons, which is that they too enjoy kicking people out of their service for adult content or because other social media platforms whined that they disliked the person so that Patreon should also kick the person off their platform.
Not as bad experiences with onlyfans yet though. Maybe that is the place to be, and instead of being a woman taking photos of myself, I could just take photos and make videos of anime girl figures.

I feel like they flopped on the Yumeko completely and it was a complete wasted opportunity. I feel like it was sculpted by someone who had never seen the source material. I kinda wish she was seated on her knees with a face of pure ecstasy on her face - moments away from her winning gamble. They could of incorporated her house pet tag into the pose - made her necktie like the one she wears in the school uniform... so much wasted potential for a character concept ideal for a bunny figure 😭
EXACTLYYY except that concept would actually require Freeing to put some thought into the figure instead of slapping a character head on a bunny suit and selling it for 30k yen. I just can't help but feel fatigued with these bunnies,,,, （＞人＜；）

actually yumeko’s figure makes even more sense now. i get you guys wanting more but women at casino’s who wore bunny suits would always tempt men to gamble. that’s where the person who designed her figure got the idea from. it’s honestly disrespectful to the artist for people to automatically assume they just put it her in a bunny suit for the sexy factor; shes supposed to tempt the main character and others around her to gamble throughout the entire anime.
you guys have no knowledge of what gambling actually was so you start spitting on what they had figuratively dressed her in. please like at least invest into looking these things up. her character makes the most sense to put in a bunny suit compared to ANY other characters they’ve put into bunny suits yet you’re the same people who buy those. just saying. there’s a lot of meaning behind the bunny suits besides the fact they’re sexy. you seeing them being put on random characters just for the sexy factor has made you think their meaning is meaningless.

My target range back in the good old days was 6-8k. These days I look at figures at 30k and go "Well, I want it, but it also cost the same as my old Dollfie Dream Rin Tohsaka V2 1/3rd scale doll". So I'm so far off that I look at things at 19k as dirt cheap, and 23k as normal.

I didn't recognise Yumeko when I saw her bunny, I legit thought it was a oc. I think the overall bunny and face look really nice, just nothing like the actual character it's based off.
I agree on the statement that if you mess up the eyes it messes up the whole face which makes the figure less desirable.
For Doki-chan, I'm even more in shock because of her hair or paintjob in general. There's almost no shading, resulting in a flat look overall. The prototype had really well done shading that captured Yoms' style.
I think well done shading elevates a figure immensely and is the key difference in that crucial 100$ to 200$ price range.
That Doki-chan isn't even worth 10k Yen in my eyes. The pose and sculpting is not exciting enough and the paintjob fails to add value. It's a shame.
Yeah. All of the problems for that figure boil down to the paintjob. If you freeze the video at 11:06, you can see that the cast is absolutely fine, but the paint is basically non existent on the hair (no shadows at the tips nor highlights in the centre), and there isn't sufficient depth or interest in the sculpt to compensate: the paint on the prototype was doing all of the work. Also, the eye transfers on the final model may be a fraction too close together (in the prototype, they tuck ever so slightly under the hair).
I have 1500¥ prize figures with better paint jobs and hair sculpts. That's saaaad.

When PO for Yumeko dropped both the face and honkin’ bazonkas just seemed too inaccurate for me. Azuki on the other hand was my first ever scale and I adore her. Truth be told, I didn’t know about the different leg color issue until weeks after I got her. The base is great, the pose is great, and the paint job is great. Personally still can’t see the difference between the two legs but maybe I’m seeing them through rose tinted glasses.
Also, I decided to pass on the Nuts PO, but you have me reconsidering haha 😂
Ugh, Union Creative... the one UC figure I have is also the only figure I've gotten that was a massive disappointment compared to the prototype (the shading was basically non-existent), so I'm scared to order UC figures now... 😥 I'm glad at least the Azuki was a win, very cute. ❤

I have one UC figure. It's a Motoko Kusanagi figure. It's quite a few years old. I really love the pose and sculpt and the fact that she's using her optic camouflage so her legs are going transparent. But the paint of her skin is ageing, perhaps at the rate of a regular human being, lol She still looks nice, but nowhere near as luminous as she used to.
Had the same issue with the Erina OC Figure. Looked like a bootleg, had to sell this fig. Lol
Yeah, you basically nailed it on the Yumeko figure (face too chubby, lips lack sharpness)... I'm sad for her because I really wanted her bunny figure to be awesome, but I can't bring myself to value her face as Jabami Yumeko at all. Wallet-kun's rejoicing though; he's been looking for some much needed relief lately.
They did Douki-chan so dirty 😭 It's such a shame how inconsistent UC because they have a lot of very pretty original characters imo.

In my eyes, the jabami figure is not the worst, but could be better. Like the chitoge figure, i wished they incorporated gold, blue, red and blue elements to bring out the casino feel, and maybe make the tailcoats longer to drape over. We have seen the other tailcoat figures and they obviously could do that. It just felt like they went lazy to me for jabami. the face expression does seems like shes mid talk, but either go big with the crazy face or give her her looking down on opponent face. PICK ONE.
She can fly as a OC figure but BECAUSE she is from a source material of kakegurui, Nope. its a nope. She not ugly persay though. Just not yumeko.
Honest to God, the Douki-chan figure doesn't feel like it's worth 15K yen, it looks like a crane game prize with how flat and unshaded it looks 😬

I think the Yumeko figure is pretty but I don't think it looks anything like her. I think the figure of her by Kotobukiya looks way better simply cuz it looks like her.
I'm not a bunny figure fan and quarter scales are usually too big for me but I would've seriously considered buying Yumeko had it not been for the massive bazonkas or whatever we call them haha!! I'm generally not a fan of big boobs on figures because I know what they feel like irl and looking at this Yumeko figure is enough to give me massive second-hand back pain LOL!
the raised leg is a little more green or gray-ish (?) but as long as you're happy with the figure... it doesn't matter :D That Union Creative figure tho... kinda looks like, to me, a prize figure
Also, just wanna add.. that Jabami bunny could've been better if they made her facial expression a little bit more crazier

In fact I have cheaper figures that looked less overall flat and... I dunno, matte looking, is like they skipped a step while painting her.
That's why I'm always wary of presales and ordering or buying figures without any reference besides promotional photos.
Sometimes the promo photos look much better than the actual product and the sneakier ones just "retouch" them. It happens with prize figures, it happens with more costly ones.
you were talking about the first figure like $100 isnt a lot of money to spend on a figure. I don't expect every detail to be hand sculpted in but an entire leg being a different color is insane for $100. I usually quickly grasp the conversion but with how you were talking about it I was actually second guessing myself, thinking it must have been, like, $15

I personally don't like or mind Yumeko's face, as I don't know if the face breaks the figure, per say. I actually sort of like the hair sculpt and I feel like it's the saving grace because of how spread out the strands are, it does give the figure that presence you were talking about. I do think they were also going more for calm Yumeko and not gambling-crazy Yumeko.
But those breasts are absolutely ridiculous LOL I can't believe they thought that was okay. It reminds me of the bunny girls that have way too long of legs just so they compete with the other 1/4 scales. One bunny that I went for was the Lacia bunny from BEATLESS, and I think her face is also debatable, but there are enough details for me to immediately go "that's Lacia" so The difference is negligible in some cases like hers.
I was one of those people who had to post a note on r/animefigures telling people to NOT leave negative comments about her face when I posted my Yumeko bunny, since every post involving her had hate comments flooding the post. It was just unnecessarily repetitive and toxic. Like, we get it. You don't like her face.
Onto my personal opinion, though: When I first saw that she was announced, I didn't know that it was supposed to be Yumeko (I also was initially disappointed with the final product due to people repeatedly posting pics of her with flash on, which came out awful looking). I didn't really care for the face and honestly only preordered her out of fear of the aftermarket and the other Yumeko figures having ridiculously high aftermarkets. After I received her, however, she became one of my favorite FREEing bunnies. Of course, I am not blind. She has some QC issues/lack of details and they didn’t nail her face 100%, but I feel that her face definitely looks better irl than the promo pics. Who knows, maybe they'll make an alternative version with her "crazy" face? If they do, I would be willing to get rid of the original version in favor of the "crazy" version.
Also, speaking of her giant melons, I don’t understand why FREEing felt the need to increase the bust size of a character who ALREADY has a big bust…….? Seems like overkill. Then again, maybe they just appear bigger than normal because she’s pushing them up with her arm and is wearing an open suit?
as someone who only ocassionally buys cheaper vocaloid figures, i didn't think they were too bad! if someone who only bought the figures as a one off i don't think they would be too mad about it, i don't think i would have even noticed the flaws hahah
I actually like the yumeko jabami figure but I do think it’s a bit pricey considering it doesn’t really look like her but overall I still like the figure

I save all the plastic, blisters, and boxes but I am so overwhelmed trying to pack some figures. I feel like you have quite the experience because of all the moving pls help a fellow mover 🥲
The first two look like pricefigures to me (the first like a good price figure except for the leg, the other like a regular price figure) and as for the last figure I just hate the facial expression. I would buy none of them, but if I had to choose, I would choose the second figure because I would absolutely hate the different colored leg even if it might be only slightly noticable in person and I expect the flag staff-thingy to bend over time and be really prone to breaking while being cleaned or in transport (there is a way better figure of Jubami, otherwise I would choose that).

i was also a victim of a disappointing union creative preorder recently... i should have believed the people telling me to wait esp bc their OC figures don't typically skyrocket in the aftermarket anyways. the prototype was just so pretty (it was the snow white), i thought even if it wasn't all the way there i'd be happy. but no, the fact that it's like 75% like you said makes it more disappointing like, what could have been😭.
edit: but i'm trying to like it so ik what you're talking ab in the jabami section. and i feel like it doesn't look like yumeko? like only the hair makes me 100% sure it's yumeko, cuz her body and face are both off
I looked at myfigurecollection on my profile, and it seems like I have managed to somehow never buy a union creative figure. That or forgotten to add the figure to my collection. But I've started to be curious about those figures now that I hear about them.

Union creative is breaking my heart. They have all these awesome figures, like the whole calne ca line is amazing. Then they make basic figures at a higher price that are definitely not worth it lol. I will say though the china dress chizuru they released fairly recently, I grabbed second hand for half the price. I don't see why people didn't love it other then it wasn't worth the retail price. lol
Also, the Yumeko, I'm in your camp. I don't think i hate the face but i don't like it enough to buy it.

Honestly, I don't think the Douki-chan figure looks that bad. I do agree with the quality on her face though, there was definitely something off when I first unboxed it, but I think I've more or less accepted this purchase since I do usually enjoy the work Union Creative does on their higher quality figures.
I'm holding out on the Nekoyome figures since they said that they won't be doing Chocola & Vanilla from the same Race Queen set (guessing since the rights are now with Hobby Max/Mimeyoi). Bummer since I do like the bases.

I agree with you on the Jabami and I'm kinda sad they just missed the mark with her. When I initially saw her pop up on AmiAmi I just thought oh another bunny in a different suit and I was shocked when I read that this was supposed to be Jabami.
Yeah, UC is a real hit or miss... I got their Cat Maid form Mika Pikazo and she is awesome, I also heard that their Albedo Figure was really good. But they sometimes have real problems with their QC especially for the prices they ask...
the yumeko “bunny” outfit actually makes more sense than you think.
female gambler/roulette dealers typically wore bunny outfits and dealt cards. they were trying to captivate the sexiness but again they have little knowledge of who yumeko is. but the bunny part, i want to clarify, isn’t meaningless. actually, her character as a gambler fits it much better than any other anime character that wears a bunny suit. it peeves me that they did this to chiaki when it makes no sense yet people eat that up lol.
I feel like a really big reason the yumeko bunny looks a bit strange is the eyes, they feel too high on her head and its just setting me off
The Douki-chan looks like a prize figure, no offense. The base is too simple and there is almost no shading at all in the paint. And 15k Yen price tag? I don't even know what to think about it.

I have a couple union creative figures. They’re such a hit or miss! The ballerina one was perf and maple from nekopara union creative was great. But I had a original character of a cat girl from them and her pose sucks it’s like leaning in person so much down it’s a pain to photograph you have to shoot from higher up..

If I spend 250€ on a figure I want it to be at least 95% there. At that price the design has to be perfect and it ends up differing too much from the prototype that hurts.
The look of a figures face is very important. Other areas can have minor defects or issues, as long as the face looks good. There are two yruru camp figures coming out soon. And I've skipped on one of them, and almost skipped the other as well because the faces just didn't seem right. I do have to agree that the Yumeko Jabami face just doesn't look like the character because of the way they sculpted the face.

I don’t think I’d ever preorder another Union creative figure after the paintwork I got for the danganronpa ones either tbh, it’s much better to wait and see with them. For Yumeko I didn’t mind her face but like you said, they made the booba too big for me 😅
The only figure I was ever disappointed by after getting it in person is my Grelle Kotobukiya figure from black butler. I LOVED the prototype pictures but in person his bangs didn’t lay right, it was just off enough to bug me. Still love the figure overall, I have the whole 4 piece collection 😊
I really dislike Union Creative, even though I have a couple of figures from them. Their prices are stupidly high for the kind of figures they produce..
Union Creative is mediocre at best, but I am not sure if I am glad it's that way because I love Yomu stuff and they have his license, so I am saving a bunch of money with that xD

One that, despite her different colored legs, is still cute because neko. One has so few details that make her almost unrecognizable, especially at that price. One has so much assets that I can't help but think about shoulder pain - perhaps that is the reason she has such a pained expression on her face.
Ah well. I guess they can't all look perfect like Hayley. ;)

I agree with the Yumeko figure , though I will say I think a lot of kakegurui figures are a miss when I see them, a lot of them don’t nail the character. That said their is a few I like
The only figure here I don't have is douki-chan since I'm not interested in the series

I just think the Yumeko figure has the facial proportions wrong, literally I think putting the eyes a bit lower on the face would fix the most glaring problem in my eyes
The only bootleg i own is a shigaraki tomura it was dirt cheap but honestly it was better than athe authentic banpresto figure which was crazy lol
the 13k figure looks like the same quality as Furyu's prize figures based on how flat and bright this figure's been painted without any detailed shadow colors on her skin and hair.
You have to take into consideration variations in people's eye sight. Some people can differentiate colors and textures and sheens at a way higher resolution than other people, and some people have varying degrees of color blindness and far sightedness. Lighting will also have a massive effect on how colors are perceived. Using two different plastics on the legs def seems like a rooky mistake that was bound to cause a problem IMO.
Me, I'm near sighted, but my eye for detail and color variation up close is intense enough that those tools jewelers use to look at stones close up makes no difference vs just holding it close to my eye. Downside is I'm very photosensitive and near sighted.
Wow that bunny girl statue does not look like the original character at all.
The face and chest is wrong, and even her hair colour is more grey then black.
I feel like this would've made for a more interesting experience if you hadn't read the controversies beforehand, and just knew they were controversial.

Was expecting more derpy looking figures
I've been wanting to get Yumeko but the more I look at the figure it just doesn't feel like her at all. I've seen different concepts of her in a bunny costume and I feel they should've been more unique with the outfit as the stockings will always be iconic since it's real fishnets. Her face looks absolutely nothing like her and wish they gave her the crazy look she always has. Overall it's cute but could be way better

How could you diss Douki-chan? LOL I guess I'm too much of a Douki-chan simp. Yes, a bit too much for a plain OL look, and now looking at her prototype (I couldn't remember the details until this video reminded me) I agree the shading of the paintjob not only around her hair but also her blue top looked way better - but she nice to my eyes. And I err... have preordered Kouhai-chan and Senpai-san too... BTW I have also seen an illustration of her in a kimono by Yomu on Twitter early this year (IIRC) and a figure of her in that would be an instant preorder. #doukisimp
I think Jabami's face looked better "IRL" - by that from recent user photos and even this video, but I agree something is still off. Her "straight-edged" (I don't how to describe this) hair at the back looks weird and the hair colour looks flat (does it look better iRL?). And your video has a side angle of her face which I don't see on photos thus far and she looks good at that angle. I didn't preorder her as I prefer getting her Kotobukiya ArtFX but if she happens to appear on Buyee cheaper... I may just get... her.... *whistles* Just to add - as you say FREEing does get some characters' faces a bit off and that includes *hot take* the well-loved Sakurajima Mai bunny in my humblest of opinions. I jumped for the 1/7 Aniplex scale for Mai because of that.
PS: Did CZcams bring down your Chiyo video? Talking about her, thanks to that video my own quesQ onee-chan arrived safely from Buyee/Mercari yesterday. She's a beaut. This weekend sees a major reshuffling of my figure display as she needs to be in a Detolf pronto! ^^
I wonder if the Azuki was originally intended to have one stocking on one leg, which is why they chose the different materials. I mean, theres definitely an obvious colour difference, one is absolutely definitely pink and the other more yellow, but it looks like yours isn't so bad.
As for the Douki chan, I saw someone got a repainted one off yahoo-japan and it looked so much closer to the original. For me personally, I feel like it's not as extreme as people are making it out to be, maybe its just the lack of shading? She's just...bland

i get yumeko bunny and its true what she says its not the best but for bunny 1/4 freeing figure its much better than other ones in the same price, and i think for face they dont want to make that scary face that make in anime o manga cause its not the style of good smile
