- Join Paul and Martin in their reaction to Celtic's chaotic semi-final against Aberdeen.
Miovski opened the scoring after just two minutes for the Dons, but Kuhn managed to equalise after 22 minutes, and the game was level at 1-1 going into half-time. James Forrest drove one into the bottom corner moments after his second-half introduction - to put the Celts 2-1 up, but Aberdeen equalised at the death sending the game into extra time. O'Riley put the Hoops 3-2 up before Aberdeen equalised again in the dying minutes of extra time to force a penalty shoot-out.
Joe Hart put himself forward to score the decisive penalty but missed, only to redeem himself and save the next Aberdeen penalty to send the Hoops through to the final.

Wouldn't have conceded those 2 goals last season with starfelt in defence, Taylor and Scales don't seem to know who should be marking the man at the back post.
Yang is an unmitigated disaster and is never in a month of Sundays Celtic quality.
@patsanters2741 rank rotten? No he wasn't, never lost a domestic game with him and CCV at CB together. Was always a stand out performer in the backs to the wall games where we had to see games out under pressure.

If anyone thinks the league is done their deluded. Thats about 8 late goals after 90 mins, absolutely shocking. We are through but feels like we got lucky today

We fall apart in the last 15 mins if 1 goal up, weak mentality. Huge changes needed in the summer irrespective if even we do stumble over the line and win the league and that's still a huge IF as we're a very average team
This performance lets us know that we can’t be over confident in the league run in.

What a league we would have if teams came to Celtic and Rangers and tried to win instead of parking the bus. we saw that with Ross County, Dundee, and Aberdeen today.
For his whole career I've been shouting for Forrest to play as a center forward. He's a great finisher & had pace to burn. Reminded me very much of a Michael Owen type. He's been brilliant over the years playing on either wing but can't help but think we missed a trick with him.

semi finals are always difficult no matter who the opposition are. history shows that as the less fancied team has nothin to lose

Rodgers needs to take a long hard look at some of players he is putting on the field, Scales and Yang come to mind and perhaps 1 or 2 more
--> Yikes! 😲 This is precisely why Celtic supporters need to temper our schadenfreude at Rangers' midweek draw. This Celtic team cannot put together a meaningful 90'. Credit to Aberdeen, but it never should have gone to extra time, let alone penalties.
--> If Maeda's out for the balance of the season, Celtic's in trouble. Yang is not cut out for this pressure, and we'll miss Maeda's output against Rangers in the derby rubber, helping to keep Tavernier deep on the pitch.
--> As a fellow Yank, I'm usually full of praise for CCV. But, on the heels of being named (with Scales) to the SPL Team of the Year, he had a poor match. Let's hope that now that he's gotten it out of his system, it'll be back to normal going forward.
Yeah yeah, blah blah we still won. Well done Aberdeen for their competitiveness, Us won. I think the schaden freude is reserved for the Ross County game. Well done Ross County, them lost. Now is the time to get behind the team fully. The 12th man. The supporters should know this at the fron of their minds throughout the coming weeks.
@@derekruairc334 Yes, we still won. And supporters still need to be full-throated behind the squad (even those of us 4,000 miles away). But that shouldn't blind us to recurring problems, or to potential match-up problems. We won, and, after winning the Cup Final, this will be water under the bridge. But to get there, lessons need to learned and not repeated.
@@nicholasjagneaux I couldn't agree more but firstly we won in a tumultous game. Aberdeen played well. Our players stood up to that in certain ways. Celtic deserved to win and they won. That needs a few seconds of appreciation. Rodgers has managed to bring us close to a double. I trust him with his choices until it becomes obvious that it is not working. Putting shade on players is divisive.
From going 1-0 down within 2 minutes, conceding in the 90th and 120th min and still coming away with the place in the final is brilliant. 25th of May will look after itself. Three massive league victories in a row to come!

We do this thing in this country when one of the Glasgow teams goes on a bad run then the other one gets a positive light shined on them.
Rangers had all the positivity and it’s now turned to us before today with them dropping points. Reality is both teams are awful and the demise in squad quality that we’ve seen this season can’t be ignored if we win the league or the double.

we keep possession when we need a goal and when we just need to keep possession we try too hard for goal & often give it away / lose on the break. so strange but done it all year
I do not know why the Celtic fans where chanting Joe Harts name at the end today , a 6tt 6in lump of wid who cost us two goals and should have saved two penalties easily , also Callum McGregor has become an arrogant liability and Celtic are a better team without him hence their excellent run without him in the team .

Look back throughout the years, and this type of cup game is common. We got the win, and i hope forrest gets to start the remaining games. Scoring 6 out of 7 pens is impressive.

I saw Martin at the game but he didn't have the puffy jacket on. In South stand.
Aberdeen were fighting for every ball, and had confidence going forward. Our defence looked really shaky. CCV was strong in a couple of tackles but got caught out of position too often. Scales was poor too.
We are into the final.
Now the team need to buckle down and finish of the league.

That was dire, let's be honest. Far too passive and not pressing nearly hard enough. On the bright side unlike some others our players have bottle and can grind it out and at least we now know we actually have players who can take penalties? Right, let's get back to the league, that's has to be the priority!
Fair play to Aberdeen for having a go . Pretty much similar to the rest of the season we just aren’t a very good team and rarely boss teams . Too many insignificant light waits in our squad . If we manage to clamber over the line and that’s still an if we must spend some real money to knock this under par squad into shape . This season has been really poor .
Look, it’s a cup semi final. All that matters is going through. Aberdeen played really well so can’t just expect to win easily every game. Just doesn’t work like that. Missed Maeda today and definitely need to strengthen but that’s for another day. All that matters now is get 3 wins in a row and win the title. Then look at what changes need to be made.
Scales and greg taylor are the changes that need to be made , this has been known since day 1.

Statistically, the weakest opposition we'll face for the rest of the season, and we barely beat them - but we did :-). Most of the team off the boil today (worrying); CMcG obviously not near fit; Yang meant we were playing a man down; Aberdeen found ways to exploit us, and others will have seen that. Cup final to look forward to, *after* we take care of the league!
