  • Since arriving for the 2012/13 season, Ian Whitten has remained a loyal and unwavering cog in an Exeter Chiefs machine that has reached the heights of English and European rugby.
During his time, Whitten has scored sensational tries, assisted brilliantly and provided a sophisticated physical presence in both defense and attack.
Though there are plenty of young players coming through at Sandy Park, Whitten's absence will be a tough one to fill. He is...
    A club legend.
Here is his retirement tribute. Enjoy!

Exactly why he was in desperate need of a tribute. Great bloke, too.

Finally a Whitten highlight reel. What a legend! It’ll be strange without him next season 😢

      Happy to provide!
He is a Chiefs legend. It won't be the same club without him.
I had the pleasure of working with him, and many other players, during my work experience days as a filmmaker at Sandy Park. He's a great laugh.

Cool! Those moments shared with players requires nothing but sheer serendipity just to be in the right place at the right time.

What a servant he's been to Chiefs. Super player. I hope he enjoys a splendid retirement.

Talismanic, to say the least. I had the pleasure of working with him once or twice during my work experience at Sandy Park creating corporate videos.
A hilarious bloke and, more importantly, a brilliant player.

      You're very welcome, Rory!
It's a shame that it took Whits to retire for him to receive the tribute treatment, but I guess there was no better time to make one.
I had the pleasure of being in the stands as he scored his last ever try against Bristol at Sandy Park!
