- Let's face it, at some point you're going to make a mistake while hunting. We're human... it happens. But there's a difference in missing a shot or moving at the wrong time and spooking a deer that's out in front of you, and making mistakes before your hunt begins. At least in the former situation, you know when and where you went wrong.
In this video we go over five mistakes you could be making before you get to your tree stand, and how to correct them.

First day of rifle up in the dark. After that, I get up when I feel like it. Deer get up and move around at certain times in different areas. It is easier to spot a deer that is moving than one already bedded. I shot a lot of deer by just walking around between 9:30 and 11:00 AM. The quickest way to ruin your hunt is to take it too seriously.

You have a great CZcams voice lol! Very smooth! Great tips!
I try!
Great tips your videos are very informative and I look forward to them your channels actually one of my favorites. Good luck this deer season I've got a couple rub lines mapped out in a Fred Bear Kodiak recurve. I'm hoping my razorhead is painted red this year with a big old buck. Rushing to the stand is something I used to do a lot myself and relying too much on sent product both big mistakes.
Thank you so much Steve! Good luck to you too!
Leave your hunting clothes outside in a box keeps the outside scent on
I was between two trees surrounded by brush and a squirrel was making a weird sound behind me. It sounded like it was 3-4 foot away.
So not knowing what it was I stud up and turned to look.
Well when I turned back around a beautiful doe was watching me.
She blew and ran.... I hate that squirrel 😡
It’s really hard not to try and find out what’s making noise behind you. Becomes an exercise in how long you can take the torture of not knowing lol
@@InformedOutdoors I was imagining a racoon or something coming out of a hole lol
With my luck it would have rabies 😳
If i happened to sleep in, at that point, i just shut the alarm clock off, and go back to sleep because, im just not gonna risk goin in there at daylight, and ruin my spot
Exactly what you should do in my opinion. Not worth ruining the spot for good.
That is exactly right. U need to be on stand before daylight. If u cant then maybe the evening hunt is a better way to go. Your already up and coherent.
I like how you're walking up to the camera in every clip lol
lol I know it's terrible!
@@InformedOutdoors nah man I say you OWN it! that's like your thing for all your videos trademark it!! lmao :D btw love your short quick helpful hunting tips
#1 mistake= ATV’s
Why
@@TexasNationalist1836 Deer associate them with humans, they stink, they are loud, bright light, all these things are horrible.
@@JeremyFriebel so how do you get to your stand
@@TexasNationalist1836 Park the truck and walk. If trails systems for ATVs I will just bicycle them
I just started hunting deer this year. I get in the woods at 330 4 ish. I set in the same spot for about 4 5 hours then I walk away from where I was looking and slowly make my to the entrance of the public land. loop around the preimeter of the rifle area and If i can walkthrough water i do because personally I've found in about 6 to 10 inches of water its faster and quieter than walking on leaves. Then I make my way to a place that I think if I was a deer I would walk through to go to the feeder set there for about 4 hours. I do the same thing walk around and go back to the original spot stay there until 2 hours after sunset. And go home. Sometimes I think it would be easier hunting deer at about 65 mph with a protester deflecter.
Who needs a tree stand ?
What are you using?
