- Furumizu, the Lei Legend of Japan, finally got his character back in Season 2. Unfortunately, many players don't think Lei is TOO scary in Tekken 7, but Furumizu still is able to make him work (Top 8 at MasterCup Try). Here he goes up against Noroma, arguable the strongest player in all of Japan, for a spot to face Double at Red Bull Monday Night Streaks.

Fun Fact: Though Lei looks pretty intimidating with his animal stances, only people who play with him knows how vulnerable those stances are. I feel a good Lei player uses psychological tactics to intimidate the enemy player.
The secret for this is this.. people love the stances but the most important is the stance transition, how you can flow from one stance to another without being punished
Agreed! also Remi King has a great idea, the transition between swaps and where to use them, as counter or evade, are the trick to have a good flow without being punished hard
Yeap. The way he down 4 into snake then side stepped the low into panther 2 was so risky and sick.

That's completely true, people are so scared of snake 4.1, dragon 1, panther 1.2 and tiger 4 (and very occasionally crane 4) that it's very easy to get scared and play mind games
I love playing with lei, changing levels constantly and being unpredictable with cool Jackie Chan moves
Having played a shitload of fighting games through my life, i think Lei Wulong is the coolest character of em all.
On good hands its just a show of skill and an unpredictable storm of attacks.

I learned each stance parry’s something different or has its counters. Tiger parry’s mids, panther doges highs and parry’s mids, dragon has fast combos into other stances, snakes great for closing space, crane doges lows and helps create space and confuse people but is very vulnerable.
Drunken styles my favorite because it’s evasive if you know how to use it to run away and switch from the ground to drunken to ground again :)

But when you change stance you cant do anything... dont forget if he goes to an animal stance if he wants to change to another he cant move when he move his hand...

The ending the rage didn't work because the string was long u loose power with each hit in long combo strings per hit I love it by the way wgl is biggieshaq I'm only a saviour but I use of original t2 t5dr lei techniques mixed with new stuff I hard main lei and have since he came out all these tournament leis switch on lei real leis know lei does everything better than everyone and are to stubborn to switch characters just make it work. Mirror match my lei I don't quit or switch biggieshaq I've played about every lei u see in these tournaments and princess ling has best potential but he a don't hard main all the leis I've faught the only dude I like was blazingpenut my boy zitro can scrap and pepper has the Hart but switches also I had my first born son and don't play as much as I would normally but I will whoop a fool and I didn't play t7 untill lei came that's how hard I main just met antenaboy he's legit also these tournament leis ain't nuffin

i love lei wulong due to his realistic martial arts and dont even play with any other characters but after long time i have realized that he is definitely not the best player and cannot be matched with other tekken players.

Hey man, I mained Lei in T@, I used to clown on people in TTT with Lei, but those stance switches are frame negative, a d/f 3+4 with Jack should nullify any of that close/mid range shenanigans. Homeboy is minus and counting on Jack not having a fast mid with a broad horizontal hitbox.
If you think furumizu doesn't know lei is negative on these stance switches you're a funny ass guy

lei just needs a little boost in punish and he can play better. all or nothing rush down style is whats forcing good lei tourney players to do unsafe high risk, low reward set ups.

@@ALLmasked Lei was never designed to play fundamental Tekken, hence punish game will always be weak. He does seem to be stubbier than before though.
He also will never be above mid tier, unless some unique mechanic can be abused, like haha step from TTT1. However, the character does have immense depth and heavy mind games with trickery, so players can get really creative.
