Watching this tournament fighter use Lei is awakening a urge to play with the character again. Unfortunately my muscle memory is light-years away from good when I used him in Tekken 3 😞.

First off lei has god tier moves from neutral. The only character with a move like ff3 which is bullshit in everyway He has a df2 like Paul's but with longer range (it's busted) Razor rush is a problem move, it can't be stepped easily and you're more likely to get clipped by it because of deceptive range and causes a lot of hesitation for the opponent Now we get to the meat of the character. All his stances have some sort of launch to them. In many instances these situations become pure 50/50's the opponent can't move or hopkick or interrupt On top of the fact his moves in general cover a huge range and are incredibly evasive. He can also stop, step or block and cause a lot of confusion to the opponent. These mental frames are completely in favour of the lei player. Even if you manage to get the right read you still may not punish lei maybe just some ground hitting attack
Suiken is the best kind of final boss. A sudden difficulty spike that appears out of nowhere and completely flattens you.
