    It took a while, but I am now full-time on the channel and started a Patreon to help support it! Visit my page at patreon.com/neshacker if you'd like to help support the channel.

    Your videos are excellent, clear, to the point and really well crafted.
    I personally will be happy to support you on Patreon, but I don't care for the perks.
    The only real perk for me is to keep you motivated and creative.

      Right on, I appreciate that :)

    Hey all! Sorry for not getting another full video out this month, things have been crazy! Do let me know what kinds of perks you might like if I start a Patreon... I was thinking of perhaps sharing my planning materials and original scripts, or perhaps letting you all vote on the topic for upcoming videos.

    Your videos are really great! I've always been a bit scared to jump into assembly coding, but the fact that it's for NES and your incredibly clear and well structured videos have made this all really fun. I hope to see more content from you!

    Thank you for these videos. I've just started reading about 6502 assembly as a way to decompress during my winter break. These videos have been simple enough for me to follow along with, while introducing enough complexity that I go "huh? wait...," which lets me know what I should be looking more deeply into next. If you started a Patreon, I probably wouldn't be able to give much, but I like to throw people a few bucks when I can, to help justify them in doing what they are doing. Keep up the great work!

    Love these videos! I'm a Linux Systems Engineer and have always wanted to master an assembly language (and I still have the dream of publishing a NES game or two!)

    • @NesHacker
      @NesHacker  Před 2 lety +1

      Heck yeah! I’m a web engineer by trade and I ended up learning most of what I know on my free time back in the early 2010s. Definitely doable with only nights and weekends :)

    so happy to hear of the upcoming videos, i am so ready. Even your demo rom you linked will help me understand nes sourcecode which I am struggeling with atm. I wonder how to apply my assembler knowledge to make a game so these demos help alot. Lately ive been able to, using the HELLO Demo to get my own characters on the screen even tho I do not yet complete understanding of communitcation with the nes system and how to structure my code to actually make a game.

    • @NesHacker
      @NesHacker  Před 2 lety +2

      Haha, I hear you. It's all a LOT when you're first getting going. Hopefully I'll be able to get to some more of the "bigger picture" stuff once I've established the basics videos to help folks like you get to making actual games :)

    if you would do a review/commentary on the final fantasy restored patch/hack, i'm really curious how they were able to implement all the unfinished/nonworking spells and weapon capabilities that never functioned as intended, i loved your earlier FF vids and this would be the perfect spot to highlight an amazing patch

  • @kythrathesuntamer9715

    Still want more assembly videos. there aren't a lot on CZcams and yours from all appearances do the best at explaining things.

      @@NesHacker Yay! You know i've only ever played around with Python and a bit of C but never finished a project really in either but I'm starting to realizing that i've got intrinsic reasons for wanting to learn how to do these things. Like the extrinisic rewards in the future might be nice but I like computers- they do a lot of the work so we don't have to. And I deliberately targeted the NES because learning assembly and low level coding is when you need the code on modern hardware to execute quickly but these days performance is often the last thing on developers minds

    Take all the time you need...pushing out a video a month at the quality you do feels more than reasonable to me. I'd rather see the pace you're going rather than trying to push out more videos at a lower quality. Quality > Quantity always.

  • @rpraver1

    In halloween code it has a include common. Where is that?

  • @ChadZeluff
    @ChadZeluff Před 2 lety +2

    So I don’t have a sense of how “full time” you want all of this to be… but I’m sure with a $50/mo Patreon tier, there might be a few of us that would pay that for 30mins of 6502 screen-sharing pair programming with you.

    • @NestorMataCuthbert
