    I'm liking this more conversational style of review. Gives Tom a chance to give his opinion as well. Perhaps the fact that they're comparing two different rubbers also lends itself well to this style of review.

    I played with 05hard on FH and 05 on BH on Viscaria FL now for a month and find the combination very good. I find the 05 hard top sheet seems to grip the ball better and helps keep good control and , despite lower trajectory and higher speed, the ball tends to land on the other side. The 05hard also seems to produce more spin causing problems for the opponent. I agree however that, with 05hard you have to be more precise on the blade angle, pull on the topspin and play with confidence. Very good on serve and OK on short game.

    • @alexandervarna8085
      @alexandervarna8085 Před 2 lety

      Hi, Dan says it's very sensitive to spin, worse then 05 in the short game?

    • @Paul5tall
      @Paul5tall Před 2 lety +2

      @@alexandervarna8085 Hi, Yes and no. It feels like the top sheet is the same as 05 and on slower ball (short game) the ball does not sink as much into the harder sponge and hence 05hard is little less sensitive. However on faster play the rubber is more direct and the attack seems to be more sensitive to blade angle. I am now used to it, but other players that tried my bat say so. I believe that in fast exchanges that ball that comes from 05hard is more difficult to cope with by the opponent. I believe that 05hard requires little more committed and more precise attacking stroke, but generates better quality shot. It suits me to use 05hard on my forehand where I can generate more speed. It feels that the 05 on my backhand gives me greater range of shot.

    guys, to explain the contact rubber/ball with a hard rubber, the contact has a smaller print on the ball which means, spin is applied to the ball at its farthest point from the center. you can't go farther than that. that means if you lack of timing or force, you lose the grip due to lack of contact surface.
    with the regular T05, the ball sinks in and enlarge the contact print. that means less acceleration(or spin) but more dwell time. which gives more arc. the ratio spin/speed is balanced. where the hard one has naturally more spin than speed so the arc is reduced in length and falls into the net. so to preserve the quality shot with it, you have to hit with a more chinese stroke to recover that speed/spin balance. that means more open bat angle and more forward motion. as well as slightly more up towards our head. it's a tad more demanding in energy since the new ball entry. but they get better almost every year. for me, Sanwei seamed 3 stars ABS are the shit. great ball. well... amazing ball. cheap as well! ridiculous quality for the buck. tough as a nail.
    this is basically a tenergy for chinese or those who play chinese stuff. or maybe those who play very VERY soft blades. which are rare now on the market. most of the blades are sitting beetween medium and stiff.

    I have played with this rubber for a month. I agree the rubber shines when you hit through the ball. This is great close to the table counter loops etc. Looping far from the table is slightly difficult because you have to hit through the ball for it to keep the speed. I tried it in my club as my practice partner brought it. He put it on Jun Mizutani blade and that set up was crazy fast for me. The balls just went of the table . On thing i noted was if i got the stroke correct the spin was crazy on the ball, but then sadly i don't play that strong every ball. Certainly a rubber who have decent technique and play strong game and don't depend on rubber for forgiveness. As they say "With great power comes great responsibility" :)

      @TableTennisDaily  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Ladder, great question!
      On my Boll ALC it didn’t feel that different or too top heavy to me and still felt quite well balanced when compared to having Tenergy 05 on both sides. It also helps that I'm used to the weight of Tenergy 05 so I personally didn’t feel that balance was an issue but everyone will be different based on personal preference and depending on what you are used to.
      Hope that helps 💪

    Great 5th ball on the backhand!
    Great flicks!
    With the "05 hard" you can't let the ball bounce off the rubber on a block like normal 05. You've got to control the block. Going to take some practice.

  • @stevenvanzoelen
    @stevenvanzoelen Před 5 lety +1

    I have played Rakza 7, Tenergy 05 normal and the hard version. As you can see in the video, the Tenergy 05 normal is much more sensitive to incoming spin. The hard version is less sensitive to incoming spin. Rakza 7 has less spin then the Tenergy's and plays very allround. If you have a very good technique, the 05 hard is the way to go. If your backhand is less then your forehand (which is the case by a lot of players I encounter) don't get carried away and choose a safe rubber which suits your style.

    • @lgeiger
      @lgeiger Před 5 lety

      Bryce Highspeed is still a lot faster. The Tenergy rubbers are so popular because they're also very controllable. I know the pros claim to use the rubbers we can buy in the store, but most of them simply don't. All of them get factory tuned or preselected rubbers that we can not buy in the store, because they would be uncontrollable for an average player. I think the T05 hard is just a tamed down version for the average customer.

      L. Gyger you can actually buy professional rubbers without a problem. Even the professional tenergy version. I feel that this review is biased towards showing more fancy attacking shots. Sure, those are a big part of the modern game, provide some fast and cool action and probably attract more viewers too. Nonetheless, I find it very important to show how a rubber performs in the boring short game. You would do well spending a couple of minutes on it instead of the two seconds summary at the end. Actually, your T05 review was much more balanced in that regard - you spent quite some time on touches, serving and returns.

    3:52 I wonder if its wrong that you dont have to "lift" while hitting it, and that its really that you have to exaggerate the movement even more. Harder rubber wont give you the same kind of freebie spin, but it will spin even more when you hit it the right way, right? I am thinking that the first impression might deceive because you bring with you technique from playing with other types of setups.

    Is there any rubber with rgb? Its not for gaming if it has no rgb 😂😊

    Good speed and for blocking. But I don't like the feel. For touch shots the ball doesn't stay on the surface very long because it doesn't sink into the sponge. Also not good for serving.

    can anyone compare the hardness and durability of these rubbers;rakza 7, tenergy05, Tibhar mxp and tenergy hard

      Tenergy lasts at lease twice as long as German rubbers. Dignics lasts even longer. When you factor in durability, Butterfly is not that expensive.

    He's not convinced with Dan's fluff that he's been asked to say by the rubber manufacturer's product marketing department...

    Sadly this rubber won't solve the tearing on the top sheet of my forehand rubber, since it seems to be the same for both rubbers. I also don't want a low trajectory rubber.

      @fedor6595 Před 5 lety

      Razka is cheaper alternative but only 80% as good as Tenergy. Good for lesser players though before they move onto Tenergy
