Also should work better on cameras with metal backs like the G9II and unlike the plastic ZVE1
This version 2 is much better design than the first gen without having to rely on those suction cups. Results seem pretty good too
Thanks Richard. I never tested the original one but I heard they can fall off quite a bit. This one does a decent job.
Sweet! Thank you Shane. I've been wondering if this fan fit/was helpful for the G92.
Have you tried Fujifilm? The XS20 and XH2S seem great for the price for hybrid use
I haven’t tried those I would be keen to check them out at some point. They look great.
I'd be interested in how well it performs compared to the cheap heatsink/fan combos they make for phones, like you'd see on amazon or temu.
I had to get one for my a7iv and it also worked on my a9iii
I've done a lot of tests. The Panasonic G9 II camera overheats after an average of 17 minutes in 4K mode at 30 frames per second. When running on battery power.
If the camera is connected to USB-C, then the camera overheats even when shooting 1080 after 19 minutes.
I'm still testing this camera. I'm surprised. This is very bad. I do not know how to work with this camera.
Man this Guy never sleeps!
Howdy Shane !! 👋🏻😎
Does this work on a S5?
Yes it will fit but the original S5. I could never get that camera to overheat have you had it happen?
@@GeekyNerdyTechy No but I was wondering if it would improve the noise in astrophotography or when shooting video in max ISO at night.
@@costinio3983 I wonder if you might introduce microshakes from the fan instead if doing long shutter? probably not but just a concern
Test it on a GH6 and an fx3/30 😅🤣
haha!
Great, so those of us who bought the original versions get absolutely nothing for those and now we have to spend the same amount of money AGAIN to get a product that was supposed to work properly the first time. Ulanzi knew they messed up the original version, and that's why they were so quick to release an updated version. I will not be giving them any more money. They need to allow us to trade in the old versions for the new versions at no charge.
If it’s got issue send it back. I’m sure they have some sort of customer warranty
I don't think it will work with Canon r8. I think it heats up at the front and not the back of the camera.
Is there no heat sync on that camera?
@@GeekyNerdyTechy I don't know, but it doesn't heat up at the back. When you put the fan at the back it doesn't do almost anything, but if you point it at the lens area it helps a lot.
Wait a minute! That's NOT a guitar!!!
The problem with these devices is that these cameras are overheating for a reason and shut down to protect the camera's internals. While these external fans help "cool" the body, the internals are still being stressed. It's probably not good for a camera's overheating warning to be on for a half hour, as though the camera's temperature readings may not cross the threshold to shut the camera down its still putting a lot of stress on the components. Essentially I think these fans trick the camera into making it think it's not overheated even though it is.
I think the company should know better and put the temperature sensors where they matter. So if the sensitive parts are cooled down, there's no harm.
