Hello! Thanks for another useful video and giveaway. I'm learning to use the A7IV and have already encountered overheating several times. When we were filming an interview for about 2 hours in a studio where the air conditioner broke down. And when I helped shoot a wedding and it was a very hot day and part of the ceremony was outside. I think that for such and similar cases, in order not to let customers down, ulanzi released a very useful thing!

Seems like it! Now we have to pick which one works better for our videos.
Two issues with TIlta: Needs to be attached to a specific Tilta cage model or a base plate, and no internal battery.
@@gigihanmandarin Whaaat!! I thought it had it's own internal battery... that's actually a bit troublesome to add another power source for it.
I definitely gotta get one of these. Was filming my first wedding for a friend, and I got an overheat warning about halfway through. Luckily the camera didn't go out on me, but I was so nervous.
Yeah, you don't want to be filming a paid gig with a risk involved!! that just emits a lot of stress hahaha but glad it worked out for you man.

I would love one of these. I thankfully haven't run into overheating yet, but my 4k 60fps recording has been in short bursts. I am putting together a rig for it that will include a vmount so a short run usb c is no big deal.

hi Victor, thank you very much for the tests on overheating through the fan, I would like to test it through a dummy battery on a Sony 6700
I think dummy battery would help since the heat won't build up on the battery as well but I'd say around 10-20% better performance on the overheating side
thinking of getting one for my gf who's is taking up BA Film in UP Diliman, her camera is a7iv. I actually made couple of DIY cooling fans using USB PC fan and the other one with a mobile fone cooling fan. It works but it's too bulky. this cooilng fan from ulanzi looks great and would love to have one.

Oh, this might be worth a try on 6700 🙏🏼 although not a perfect solution if used outdoors, but might help in certain situations.
Indoors for sure! Outdoors… hmmm you might worry about the fan falling more than filming 😭😭

I've been using the a6700 for 2 weeks now. Love it to bits as the picture is incredible but yeah, it does get warm and did shut down on me once when I had a 1080p60 HDMI signal going out while the camera was set to 4k60. Even without recording it can overheat on the new firmware...

So victor would you recommend to get the a6700 despite the overheating issues? should I spring for the fx30 instead but not sure if I can get a true hybrid experience out of that one
For travels/everyday use, I don’t get any overheating issues and that’s shooting photo and video! Short bursts are okay but when we record in one long take, that’s where we see overheating. If you’re gonna do pro work, fx30 will be your safest choice. Other than that, a6700 is good enough and is really good for hybrid shooting!
FX30 cannot do burst shooting or attach any external flash. If you have even 1% chance of needing either of the said two features, get A6700. Overheating can be mitigated by an external fan. Unable to do burst shooting or attaching an external flash can't be mitigated.
Nice haircut my man! The Ulanzi looks good but I don't like the sticker thing and that it doesn't always hold. Would a key takeaway from all your testing be to shoot with Manual Lenses on this guy for longer record times?

I put the fan on the Sony a7iv and the air noise appeared in the video audio. it was frustrating.

I made a lot of overheating tests, and got much better than that with firmware 1.01. The results will change a lot according to camera settings. If youd don’t use external hdmi and neither xavc hs 4k codec, it will be much better: for 4k 24p and 30p, i can film as long as battery die. For 60p. I have already provided results in another video of josh sattin about a6700 overheat...
I use the sony a6000 and since there is no remedy for its heating problem i would use that fan as my surface book laptop cooler because its processor is in its display.. placing that fan behind the display would definitely reduce the heat😊
I have the fuji xs20 and it overheats too if I run it for too long , so if I win this it would be sweet !

@@VictorLaforteza yes! Victor I can’t imagine , as an enthusiast hybrid shooter, why I’d spend $$ on a body, lenses, filters, etc when the iPhone log is that good. I also pair it with a Ricoh GR3x for photos
It shouldn’t surprise you that the 4K 120 outlasted 4K 60. The 4K 60 is down sampled from 6K, whereas the 4K 120 is a pixel to pixel readout, a much smaller section of the sensor.
True but based on my other videos, the 120p performed way worse so it’s surprising this time around it was almost even.

I really need your opinion on this since this question is really bothering me. I am a beginner and want to get into videography primarily and photography on the side too. I have a limited budget and I can get the Sony a7iii for 600 dollars cheaper than the a6700 where i live. I've gotten mixed opnions from people saying the a7iii is the clear winner because of the 2 card redundancy and less overheating. While the others say the a6700 is the newer camera which will be a better choice.
So what should i get if I want to make videos but at the same time still be able to do pro shoots or something of that sort down the line? Is the dual card that big of a deal or will i get by with a high quality sd card?
Should i save my money and get the old a7iii second hand with some lenses or get the a6700 new and slowly build on that?
Another option could be waiting for a few months more so that i can get the a6700 second hand or something. What should i do
get the a7iii. It's gonna last you longer especially in longer recordings. the lenses are more expensive but it's worth it. 3 years did pro work with the a7iii no issues.
Sadly the suction cups wont hold the fan down for a long time.

Anyone from India using this camera? How's the over heating issues here after the firmware update? Cuz the average temperature in most cities is above 33 degree Celsius... And if anyone of you have used a6700 in india let me know the run time in continuous shooting with the fan and without the fan please. Would help me to save some money when we choose this.

This is just a fan. The Tilta device is a peltier cooler.
Tilta doesn’t have built in battery though.
