Last year of the St. Louis made Corvettes. 1981 and newer made in Bowling Green, KY. My dad started working at the corvette plant in 1965 and retired after 42 years.
A good story for Thanksgiving! Not often anymore that jobs hang onto their workers for 42 years.

@@williamthot3978 Dad would have stayed longer than 42 years. They pretty much payed him off to retire. They were trying to get rid of all the old guys so they could hire new ones for way less money. They had already gotten rid of most of the assembly line guys before that. My Dad was a electrician and Maintenance foreman so he hung on a bit longer than the line guys. But ultimately they all got paid off to retire.
If I remember right the first 2 years of retirement he received his full salary as if he was still working.
@@JohnnyRebKy In my spare time I’m a Doc.and I talked to another Doc that had returned from a business meeting. The big advise was get rid of your employees in 5-6 years. Then hire new ones that cost less. In my opinion that is cruel and sick. I grew up in the 1960’s ( thus my love for muscle cars) so it may be some residual hippie in me. It seems to me a happy, well educated and trained employee is critical for not just a business but the whole committee. It leads to more discretionary funds which can be spent at Maple Motors!!!

Nice C3 Nick! Yes, a Corvette is a bit quirky on some items. But, there are many resources to learn how to service these cars. They may not have tons of power, but they are a neat car.

may be real miles on this one. clean and smooth driving. no power, but that was how it was then. GM made more vettes in the 79 and 80 years models, then other years. sure want a 2022 vette ha ha. peace

Nice Corvette seems to have more power than stock C3 Corvette’s we’re not that fast stock but they sure look good I think they also had the terrible crossfire injection that one does not seem to have that which is good very nice paint .

Democrat carter years alot of cars had no power back then ,auto makers got penalized if it didnt get certain mpgs just like today the muscle cars are killed off again with Gov penalties & no tax credits.

I always wonder if these malaise C3s are good crate engine candidates. People might not mind the loss of originality so much for 50+ more reliable hp with no fuel economy penalty.
They disconnected all the horns so maple motors and Nick always wins the game. It’s rigged. Haha 😅😊
