  • Essential oils have been used for centuries for their therapeutic properties, whether relaxing after a long day or boosting your energy levels in the morning. Blending different oils together can create a unique aroma that caters to your specific needs.
In this video, Mr. Sweet and I are on a mission to create a blend of essential oils suitable for his and her shower gels. Mr. Sweet needs a summer blend that will be refreshing and cooling with the added bonus of keeping the insects away since he works outside.
I’m creating a blend for me because it’s fun!
It’s important to use and SMELL our oils safely. Be sure to use the technique I demonstrate in the video so that you don’t have a reaction to the oil and aren’t overwhelmed by the fragrance.
Let me know if you’d like to learn more about blending oils using top notes, middle notes, and bass notes in the comments section.

I do want to learn more about the high and low notes. My favorite essential oil smell is ginger.

Ginger is warm and delicious. I prefer it as an oil over the tea, lol. Mr. Sweet and I did a video together about which tea we prefer - ginger or peppermint. I'm Team Peppermint. Mr. Sweet is Team Ginger. Blended together the two teas are wonderful! You should watch it. It's a fun video. But I digress! A video covering the differences in notes is on my to-do list. I hope to have that out soon, so keep an eye out! Thank you for your feedback.

My favorite essential oil is lavender. What would be a good oil to mix with that?

Lavender and peppermint often blend well together. They work very well together in relaxing muscles and nerves and helping let go of stress.
A good question to ask is, "What are you using the blend to help with?" Lavender blends well with sweet orange, bergamot, lemongrass, patchouli, vetiver, ylang ylang, and frankincense!

@@SweetHerbinLivin definitely not ylang ylang. I can’t stand that one. I’ll try peppermint
