Slow Rosenberg Freight Elevator at 231 E Buffalo in Milwaukee, WI

(June 2023) This is a really neat vintage Freight elevator at 231 E Buffalo in Milwaukee. It was installed by F. Rosenberg Elevator Company, has CJ Anderson buttons, no inner door, and is really slow! I am really surprised this doesn't have an inner door. This is also the only elevator in the building.

There’s another freight elevator twice the size behind the door on the left used as an actual freight elevator. I haven’t rode it but it’s apparently slower than this one.

That’s is very slow. What makes elevators fast or slow?

It mainly has to do with the speed of the elevator compared to the number of floors served.
A traction elevator can go the speed of a hydraulic making it slow as well.
A hydraulic elevator can be fast.

The size also factors. E.g. a really large elevator would go slower than an average size elevator.
