god save the audio engineer, some heroes dont wear capes
That wall of sound in the last two minutes. Incredible.
Mate, it’s impecable mixing
that drummer is a legend, doesn't fuck about, just keeps a solid backbeat. quality.
Rest in peace, Josh Fauver (the bassist) :(
this was literally deafening when i saw it. the first set i saw that gave me hearing damage and i couldn't be happier about it.
dude i was thinking that the whole time. and like it's deerhunter so I wouldn't necessarily think they're like concerts would be so loud and like driving
Come on cry for us
Are you shitting me? Josh Fauver was an essential part of Deerhunter's signature sound. His bass work on "Nothing Ever Happened" alone defined Deerhunter's evolving style.
the first song i ever heard by them.. i was in middle school and the science teacher put me on
@@gavinc.morrison1147woaaah, your science teacher is based
@@CokeFlavoredSprite Mr. Kahn was sick
I love the guy smoking his cigarette
he passed away :(
Bradford is singing so well in this one. The fucking lyrics of this song, my heart..
Amazing drum sound
Incredible clarity in the live recording, really bringing it to life.
Love this video so much, their Halcyon Digest era got me through a tough time.
So much delay and pitch shift going that it's almost impossible to tell what they're doing just by watching their hands. Takes a lot of skill to stay in time with such big delay duration, it's super impressive. Love and miss this band so much
Speaking of looping, I could probably "loop" this tune all day and be ready to do it all over the next. Par excellence..
One of the best live videos I have ever seen.
My first taste of Deerhunter, good lord I've been born again! How are these guys not Grammy winners?
Because they’re great. Way above the heads of Grammy voters.
Just heard about Josh Fauver's passing RIP ma dude
I was there. I was fucking there, awesome!
I wasn't. I fucking wasn't! SHIT!
Rest In Peace, Josh Fauver..
all these drugs they play on me in these terrible ways
Malin Lindborg its a great line aye.
they dont pay like they use to pay
I've seen them three times live and their bass player is always smoking a cigarette!
Just too good. Fuckin dreamy creamy flawless. Makes me want to give up making music - TOO fuckin good
"no one cares for me
i keep no company
i have minimal needs"
@@rudejeams I find it uplifting, total freedom!
@@MrGunwitch To me, it sounds like people have disappointed you. I hope you find the good company you deserve
@@spadeplaladin5 The only good company you need is yourself :)
RIP Josh Fauver ❤️
I literally can NOT stop replaying this video, such an explosive and powerful song!
Do you still like this song 10 years later?
Rest In Peace Josh 😔
Really cool vocal looping at the beginning.
RIP Josh Fauver. I always thought this was the coolest bass player onstage presence I had seen.
Agreed!
yeah dude
he's a really good singer live.
incredible... can't listen to this and not feel something
This song makes me cry no joke
RIP Josh, never forgotten!
bassist is iconic.
This performance for me ranks up there with The Beatles "Don't Let me Down" rooftop jam
hahaha
Josh Fauver was too cool for this world
Is this song really just power chords? Wouldn't have assumed. It's so beautiful. Good fortune and long life to the mixer.
There’s definitely some octaving going on, and generally harmonies - but you’re right it doesn’t seem like they are playing some of that directly, so maybe there’s a harmony added through a pedal , Digitech Whammy can do both for sure, maybe not at the same time.
this gave me hope in music again. Just amazing.
Rest in Power Josh.
My favorite version. So powerful
Beautiful song.....
beautiful
Flawless
Damned good performance
Went to Pitchfork 2011 and 2012 ... I think this is my favorite set of them both ...
Those drums go hard.
Chilling. Glad this exists...and I can watch it all day if I want.
GOD I love love love love love love love Deerhunter so fucking much!!
Stumbled upon this...wow! Great stuff!
Pure Beauty!
fantastic song!!

DAMN THAT BASS.

awesome performance, wish I went to pitchfork that year
The first time I heard this I had lock jaw for at least 5 minutes after the end of the vid.
4:52 gives me chills every time
This is so great
that's a sweet bass
That is an awesome crowd.
essa musica é muito forte! e o live é ainda mais fenomenal
This song really holds up in the stripped down form as opposed to gettting to know this song in the video 30 minutes ago. A good song usually does.
rip Josh Fauver
mind blown
totally agree with you, so true
Hail to the indie bands
INDIE IS AN INSULT TO BANDS DONT CLASSIFY SONGS/BANDS WITH THAT TERM EWWW
leesterine because its so basic
Francisco Villafane i don't think so for me the Indie rock o Indie folk are one of the best kinds of music these day. It's not basic is amazing
Thanks : )
Epic.
Man no shit, I think I attained Zen watching this video. Take my hand and pray with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RIP JOSH! :..(
too sick
They're all playing their instruments, the guitarist is using a looper pedal, bradford's vocals are just good, but you can hear they sound different to the studio version, the bassist has some kind of echo pedal, so when he hits the strings in the verses is creates low rythmic sound.
the drums... what a sound
Unreal
cheers! ;)
We know, he loves you the best...
Love it deerhunter
This song is shockingly good. One of the saddest songs especiall if you know the backstory
❣️
Fucking gorgeous
Wow...
I actually noticed that too.
4:30~5:00 is bliss
Marko Mint yeah
