This song reminds me of listening to Siamese Dream on my Sony Walkman, staring at the popcorn textured ceiling from my bed as the batteries started to die. Feeling the joys and pains of the entire world.
You’re not wrong, but I don’t think the song is meant to be sung perfectly in tune. They have a string on their guitars purposely tuned a half note off, which gives those big chord hits that “clanging” sound. I think the melody was written to kind of drift in and out of tune and give the listener a sort of seasick feeling.

can't think of a single Deerhunter song I don't like
Sounds so organic, that is incredible. Good to see these guys getting out in public.
Especially on Conan. This band needs a little more attention than being underrated all the time. And here they are on Conan.
I farking love this song. And I remember seeing this performance on Conan.
would have been mind-blowingly epic if they played He Would Have Laughed. still great though.
i can't believe this only has 2k views
You are brilliant.
RIP Josh Fauver
Conan dun left the drummer Moses hanging even though his hand wasn't out. Come on now. Moses deserves some credit too.
Moses is an amazing drummer
