I didn't know Nation Wide, as I use to watch BBC2 when that was on. it was usually Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers staring Buster crab. some nights it would be Laurel and Hardy or Harrold Lloyd.
all the rest I guessed with in the first 2 seconds.

Wow, childhood memories. There were 3 I think I never got, the odenion line, the persuaders, and the water margin. God I feel so old remembering so many. You never hear folk speaking about Frank Cannon these days do you? I mean my 50+ boyfriend has kojak and Starsky and hutch cars. Poor old forgotten Frank! Monkey was something else! My brother still has the original single with the water margin song on the b side. 'Born from an egg on a mountain top'. Where was the Bionic woman? I loved her. Jamie Summers. Kung-fu reminds me of my Dad putting Ferrero Roche limited edition in his eyes on Xmas day and saying 'snatch the pebble from my hand' in a dodgy accent. Could go on for hours, good memories. Byeeee, Nicki

@@stuviewtv The incredible hulk was one of my fave programmes as a child. I used to possibly identify with David Banner and cried when he walked at the end and narrator said something like 'destined to be alone until he can control the raging power within him' Hmmm, maybe I empathised before I knew what empathy meant? Strange child I must have been. My Dad used to call me 'the incredible sulk'. Which would inevitably make me laugh and break my mood. Weirdo child!

Strangely enough, this is the second time 'The Water Margin' has come up in the last two days!
I saw it yesterday on an anime site, as they've now done an animated version of it.
(I got my love for all things Japanesy from 'Monkey' and 'The Water Margin' I guess!)
I remember it mostly from the incredible amount of gore (for the time!!) on offer- where else could an eight year old get to see heads getting lopped off by Samurai, and it led to some great playground discussions and reenactments the next day!
Thanks for the memories as they say...

Unfortunately not Stu- the original story is a 5-600 year old Chinese epic, but the TV series was a Japanese production, so the 'people' of today would say it was 'cultural appropriation', declare it 'problematic', and have it removed (and possibly hung, drawn, and quartered) straight away.
      🙄
The 'modern' mindset is one of the reasons why nostalgia for simpler times is so popular- even young people today are sick of their own generation, and hanker after a past they weren't even a part of.
Our culture has become creatively bankrupt, with studios just sharting out rehashes of old properties, and young people are increasingly realising that the original versions are *far* superior to the bland, soulless copies being churned out lately.
It's why all these 'reimaginings for a 'modern' audience' are tanking abysmally and costing studios hundreds of millions of dollars.
People have had enough, and are voting with their wallets.
At least we have the luxury of being able to remember a time when entertainment *entertained,* instead of proselytised at you...
      🙂
