    and Michael Karpowicz, piano.
For everyone born, a place at the table,
for everyone born, clean water and bread,
a shelter, a space, a safe place for growing,
for everyone born, a star overhead.
    And God will delight
when we are creators of justice
    and joy, compassion and peace:
    yes, God will delight
when we are creators of justice,
    justice and joy.
For woman and man, a place at the table,
revising the roles, deciding the share,
with wisdom and grace dividing the power,
for woman and man, a system that’s fair.
For young and for old, a place at the table,
a voice to be heard, a part in the song,
the hands of a child in hands that are wrinkled,
for young and for old, the right to belong.
For queer and for straight, a place at the table,
for trans and for gay, a welcoming place,
a rainbow of race and gender and colour,
for queer and for straight, the chalice of grace,
For everyone born, a place at the table,
to live without fear, and simply to be,
to work, to speak out, to witness and worship,
for everyone born, the right to be free.

I love this - and as a mother of a gay son, I appreciate you including the verse that includes him and all LGBTQ people. Beautiful voices. Beautiful message. 💗🏳️‍🌈

This is the first hymn I've heard in awhile that doesn't make me feel uncomfortable and stifled. 💕🏳️‍🌈 Thank you!

I posted this to the Reddit r/ChristianUniversalism subreddit, and here is the first comment:
"Wow, those are powerful lyrics, highlighting compassion, justice, equality, and inclusion. I really enjoyed that. The whole song, every line so meaningful. Thank you!
"And God will delight when we are creators of justice and joy, compassion and peace!""

We sing it at our DIVERSE, INCLUSIVE _Baptist_ church in Alabama (US)
Yep. a state with a painful history of bigotry and exclusion . . .

the process both creates the need for hymns and provides them, that's like trusting a snake selling anti-venom

Heartfelt rendition. I so much appreciate that the "optional" verse regarding queer and straight all having a place at the table was included. So many versions of Shirley Erena Murray's hymn to an inclusive society omit this verse, which misses the central point she is trying to get us to see.

This selection will follow lighting the Peace Candle and Prayer, it is also Communion Sunday. Yes, God will delight
when we are creators of justice,

If we are licensed with One License for streaming, would we have permission to share this in our Zoom worship?

might I use this lovely recording for a United Reformed Church in the UK service in July? We have the requisite streaming and copyright licences and would, of course, fully acknowledge you. Many thanks, Andy

Centre Place is the Toronto congregation of the denomination Community of Christ. We ordain LGBTQ+ ministers and our next president will probably be a women.

The contrast between the intended message & the form chosen to deliver it is beyond jarring... stock video footage & stock religious hymns are not the tools of the oppressed. When half your video description is dedicated to maintaining copyright & licencing protections, you are very loudly telegraphing your intent of appropriating activism for corporate interests, in a counter-productive way. Classic church style of make songs about the joy of children while SA'ing them, I guess?

Thanks for your comments. We do not usually engage with negative comments like yours, but we thought it would be important for you, and maybe others who think like you, to know you go through life making incorrect assumptions. Why stock footage? Because we do not have the resources to hire professional video crews, we are a small church congregation. Why the copyright notices? To protect our channel from copyright strikes.
