Beloved by senior citizens, you mean.
The awful awful vomitously repulsive music of the '60s and '70s that replaced truly sacred liturgical music is one of the factors that contributed to the mass exodus of my generation and those below from the faith. Such obscenely awful music - I grew up with all of those insipid songs - is one of the things that taught us that there was nothing sacred going on and which made Mass such a spiritually dead and tedious experience.
If and when we get the grace to come back to the faith, we don't come back to the Novus Ordo, which is just as awful as we remembered. We come back and find the true sacred worship we were robbed of growing up. It's impossible to truly lift your heart and mind to God in the same way at the Novus Ordo mass, which is completely banal, unworthy of God, and not even Catholic in tradition or theology.
If any of you even care about worshiping Him the way that He wants, dictates, and deserves in justice - as opposed to the way you want to do it - ditch the ugly and unworthy music and make a real offering. You'll actually get back some of the people who left, too. And then maybe you'll still be around in 20 years.

My parents are Jehovah Witnesses, they don't let me go to church or attend communion. I have been ridiculed for my beliefs over and over, today I have made myself communion bread at home and served myself a small portion of wine when my parents were away from home. The Lord has blessed me today so I would be able to eat of his flesh and drink of his blood, I am only 14 and I am aware that the path ahead me is much more difficult, however I am not afraid, and I will continue to be in this church that the Holy Spirit has led me to. Update: I am now 15, almost 16, at the time I was a Presbyterian and now I am a Catholic, I have not received eucharist yet and I understand I am not able to consent the Eucharist, and I am glad about this. Same with me!!!! Isn’t it awesome? I had been so lost in my faith, that is, until I came to know our Lord through Catholicism. I truly feel that this is the Church that Jesus Christ has created for us!!!! For the life of me I cannot figure out why Catholicism gets such a bad rap. It is imperfect, but those who turn their backs on our church, do nothing to bring God’s love and grace to all and help create the perfect church. I pray daily that people will return to the church and rejoice with us! We are so lucky to share the Eucharist!

I AM LUTHERAN AND WE SING these hymns at the Eucharist. The Catholics sing hymns by Lutheran composers such as Bach. Hymns belong to God not by any one church.

Many Catholics easily stray away from the faith that they received. What are the reasons for their falling into complacency, becoming indifferent and even hostile towards Christ and the Christian Faith?
The fault with many Catholics is that they think baptism is a graduation from having acquired knowledge and understanding of their faith. After completing their catechism classes or RCIA journey, they no longer seek out opportunities to continue growing their faith, both doctrinally and spiritually. Their only occasion to grow in faith is the one-hour Mass that they attend every Sunday. This is hardly enough to sustain the life of a Catholic. Those who do not grow in their faith are already losing their faith. There is no neutrality.
How, then, can we grow in our faith? Firstly, we need to deepen our intimacy with God through Christ. In Christ, we come to know and love the Father. Secondly, we must be rooted in the Word of God. We cannot grow in our faith without deepening our love and appreciation for the Word of God through bible study and most of all, a prayerful reading and sharing of the Word of God.
Thirdly, we must seek the support of the Christian community. A Catholic without the support of his fellow Catholics will eventually fall out from the faith, especially when he undergoes the trials and challenges of life, the influence of secularism, and the materialistic, individualistic and atheistic views of the world. Fourthly, to grow our faith, we need to evangelise and be a witness to Christ. We evangelise ourselves by evangelising others. By sharing our faith with others, we strengthen our own faith. By teaching our faith to others, we grow in understanding and clarity in what we believe in.
Finally, growing in faith is to grow in our Christian life. This is the most effective form of witnessing. It means that those of us who are baptised must live a life of holiness and purity, free from sin and a bad conscience. A life of holiness and charity are the fruits of a strong spiritual life and a life of hope founded in the promises of God.
If the Catholic Church is accused of being satanic, that is no more than its Founder, Jesus Christ, was accused of. When our Lord was on earth, he had the same problem. He was driving demons out, and some said he was doing this by the power of the devil. How did Jesus respond? He said, “How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand; that is the end of him” (Mk 3:23-26).
The Catholic Church drives out the devil, too. This practice is called exorcism. No one can deny that the Catholic Church has been doing exorcisms on people and driving out Satan for nearly two millennia. Therefore, we must reason like Jesus: If the Catholic Church were from the devil, it could not drive the devil out.
We shouldn’t be surprised when such charges are made against the Catholic Church. Jesus told us, “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master; it is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household” (Mt 10:24-25).

As a Protestant I was introduced to Catholic hymns and thought, Why can't "we" have hymns like that. Well that was about 20 or more years ago. Now after a round about journey, looks like I will be beginning RCIA. Then I can get all of this great music as much as I want
I heartily agree with what you say about hymns in the majority ofprotestant churches. Some stick to the Victoria hymns with difficult words to understand and dreary tunes. I have been attending Sunday Masses both online and in person, where an effort is being made to enliven the service. I am now 74 years old and have a funeral plan in place. It will be held in a protestant church, but will be celebrated by Anglo-Catholic priests, who will use hymns I have chosen and all are from the Catholic hymnals. I hope you will have all your needs met in the years to come.

I’m 68 year’s old and went to Catholic School all my life and went to the beautiful church in my parish.
Now they’re all being closed for condominium’s. Saddest part of my life I never wanted to see.

These are among some of my favorite Communion hymns in the Catholic Church. I do see a lot of people who comment on how the music helped them to convert. The Church is full of beauty but as a Catholic Church we need to realize that these songs sing about a greater beauty...the beauty of the Eucharist which a fundamental belief. It is the REAL PRESENCE of our Lord... Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. Over the past decades, sadly belief in the real presence has declined to about 30% of Catholics. We need to get back to tradition of reverence. This should include at the very least, receiving on the tongue not in the hand and if really reverent should kneel. We as a Catholic community, can bring back a Eucharistic revival. Receiving on the hand is actually not in Canon Law but was rather in indult given by the Vatican in places where the liturgical abuse was already happening. Receiving in the hand was only granted an indult in a few countries. Let's bring back the true beauty and reverence sung about in these songs and start receiving Communion on the tongue and kneeling in reverence when we receive the Lord. ❤

I am currently living a sinful life and didnt know how to come back to Christ, it was then that a Catholic hymn started singing in my head
'I am the bread of life' so I searched up on youtube for catholic hymns and clicked the first video i see. Apparently it was your video and that was your first song
I found a song by John Micheal Talbot “come back to me” ... so beautiful. He has phenomenal catholic songs. I know you will find your way,. Or If u like accapella / Southern gospel music : the Gaithers “dig a little Deeper” this song and so many others they sing
fun yet blessed way to reconnect to His love for you. Mark Lowry was a Gaither band member..he wrote “Mary Did You Know”, Enjoy this music. Little by little your journey will continue. I’m back, it began again with music for me. Blessings to you.

I feel spiritually healthy and strong in faith to our Almighty God, to Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit as a Catholic. Everytime I go to mass, I am happy, joyful and full of grace after receiving the Holy Eucharist. But I have tried searching for other Christian faith but as if I can't feel the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ so when I played this video, I am full of tears because I wasn't able to attend mass for a longer time because the church is far from us and my husband can't walk because of heart attack. I usually attend mass almost everyday when I was still living in the city. But now I attend mass once a month and I don't even understand the dialect very well. I feel I am lost but I tried to read the Bible and listen to music played in CZcams and listening to preachers. I hope our Almighty God will hear my prayers always. Thank you for sharing the music to us.

Jesus's love is unconditional. I still can't believe He chose me to follow Him. To anyone reading, Jesus is honestly the best thing that happened to me, nothing compares. He died for us sinners so we could choose life. So we could get right with God and enter His Kingdom. It's not by doing good works but by repenting and fully trusting Christ's sacrifice on the cross ❤️
