When product costs more to make and ship, you lose money as a business owner, usually need to layoff people or lose the business (but still have to pay taxes). If you chose to pass the increased costs onto the consumer, you usually lose consumers. It’s not a “win” for anyone...it’s a loss for everyone.
I'm not sure. The foreign oil deals are made so they will purchase US treasuries (debt) and defense weapons. This props up the US economy through government spending and allows us to service previous debt. Otherwise, there is massive unemployment and default. Not much can be done really. US spending is far beyond serviceable in the long run; we will never hit the needed GDP numbers.

I wrote an email to the president stating that how “more green” is it to import oil from another country for the USA when we have our own here that could minimize the financial impact of this country? It is no “more green” to import oil than it is for us to utilize what we have here. There will be no country to save if this continues

We have more oil than the middle east so there's no excuse to be importing oil & paying these exorbitant prices for oil when we have our own! If we aren't going to voluntarily switch to electric cars, he'll force it by making fuel so darn high, we can't afford it and will have to park our cars! I own a trucking company with bunch of trucks and drivers. A lot of companies that I know are already shutting down because of high price of fuel and maintenance. Diesel is $6.95 in Los Angeles.
With the current market rates we have no choice to shutdown too in a month. Trucks are making 10% of what they used to make
When it gets to a certain point, truck drivers will stop doing their job if the price of fuel makes it no longer worthwhile to do the job.
Many entrepreneur truck drivers have already stopped working due to the rising diesel prices. The answer is to turn the spickets back on in NA. The only way you do that is to stop voting in the Democrats and get rid of the chaos that our country and the world is in now.

Investing is a primary decision to be made for the future, If you see this and you don't have an investment, plan to have one, so you don't end up like my main colleague at work.
