Jesu existence as a historical figure doesn't prove god's existence. It just means Jesus existed as one of the hundreds of preachers at that time, just that he was the only long-term successful one. Why? That can't be inferred from this information. Hence, why you can be atheist (i.e. not believing in any gods) while believing in Jesus as some guy that lived 2,000 years ago.
