1973 GMC C2500 CAMPER SPECIAL
This is a 1973 GMC C2500 Camper Special with an extra gas tank in the back and a GearVendor under/over drive transmission. 5th wheel hitch and tailgate. This truck runs and drives good and has an Edelbrock carburetor, Mallory Ignition, a newer 7.4l 454 V8 that was replaced at some point but I am unsure when or how many miles are on it.
It sat for about 15 years in a covered shed so it needs some tlc. I have already flushed the coolant system, replaced fuel filters, changed motor oil & filter, new air filter, installed carburetor re-build kit, brand new tires installed and balanced. It is running very good and drives straight down the road but it can be difficult to start some mornings when it's cold. Difficult or not, it does start everyday i need it and its been my go to vehicle for the past few months and it's been pretty reliable for me except for the occasional fuel filter replacement.
Pro's

-Never smoked in.
-Drives very straight, good alignment.
-New alternator.
Con's
-Needs a paint job, light surface rust & a small heavily rusted spot on the front of the hood and firewall. (see pictures)
-CB doesn't work, no antennas.
-Tank selector valves need to be replaced to be able to use back tank.
-Probably could use a tune-up/timing check.
-Driver mirror cracked.
-Front & back windows have a small leak when it's raining.
-Fuel gauge doesn't work.
-Rusty gas tank, needs replaced or resealed.
-May need a new head gasket, coolant is slowly disappearing and exhaust smells weird.
-Coolant reservoir was cracked so I'm using a Mt. dew bottle. I kept the old reservoir in case someone wants to have
it measured and replaced.

Had a 75 with a three speed column shift and a 292 straight six moved that old bastard it was blue painted it white awesome old rig miss it but those trucks just aren't that practical
Just looked it up on Lmc trucks 20 gal replacement Gas tank was 89 dollars and the sending unit was 45 dollars it’s a little bit of time to R+R but it’s worth it in the long run !!!!
That firewall is NOT just a spot of rust. That will need a lot of work there. (why on the firewall) ? This truck spent the majority of it's life pulling a heavy 70's 5th wheel trailer. That;s what the past owner built it for. She's tired now. Not a 4X4 . But still a square body. Maybe 7K

Look at Meacham auctions this truck with few thousand in repair fetch over 100k to right person, don't let em jew you down on price personally if Ihad it and wanted to sell it I'd ask 12k firm think about it where else could someone buy this truck try to contact car people some rich people who own nice cars would luv this truck as a hauler for the shows,Definitely ain't making any more of em a solid square body.
