- I put a poll on Facebook to see what kind of video people wanted to see about the Basecamp X and full time travel. One of the top choices was the "Daily Life" video. The voters voted so I created.
In this video you see FULL DAY of what it is like living in 96sqft of space on wheels. I show you the regular task of vacuuming bugs, covering the bikes, a haircut, and even some text from my mom. If you watch long enough you can even learn a bit about the shower.
Vehicles Used in This Video
2019 Basecamp X
2020 Jeep Gladiator
RadBike Mini 4

Can't wait to get one someday! God bless!
I’m rooting for you to get yours! Thank you
Thanks for the tip!
Happy the answer. Hope you find the perfect Airstream 🙌🏻
Good video, awesome I would cook corn on cob and chicken breast
Thank you. Your dinner of choice sounds good 🍗 🌽
MOST IMPORTANT PART OF CAMPING, GETTING A RUN IN!!!
That's my thought!
@@DavidWaldrip run, camp, trails...earth
Nice man bun
So happy you find it cute Arthur ; )
It’s always special to see a family blessing their meals. Great video. God bless you both!
Thank you kindly
Great video. Most appreciated the humbleness to take a moment and offer a fitting prayer.

The greatest way to enjoy the pleasure of living is to experience life from, with, and of God. Was inspired by your simple grace.
You are correct. Thank you Mj
Great video! I might be jumping into this lifestyle. I’ve got a home base, paid off so no mortgage, and I’m a photographer. This may just pay for itself over the long term! 🥳 Love that you included the prayer. You guys rock, Jesus rocks! 🤟🏼 SUBSCRIBED!
Me too ! I just paid off my house last year ! I'm a respiratory therapist and my boyfriend is a IR tech . We are going to travel and get an Airstream
Resistance bands are really good if you can't bring weights.
Awesome idea! Do you have a suggestion as to where I can purchase some high quality workout bands?
Best Airstream video. Put into action cause all the videos i saw was just like explaining what the unit can offer but not being used. That kitchen looks loaded. Thanks for sharing 👌
Glad you enjoyed it! I definitely use mine.
You are correct the kitchen in the Basecamp is amazing. But now I must say I am very fond of the Caravel 20FB model : )
So awesome! Made me smile the whole way through - and your Believers: Praise God!!
Thank you so much for watching. Glad you were smiling the whole time 🙂🙏🏼
Stumbled upon this video...I'm so glad I did! God bless!
Jody thank YOU so much for watching! I am glad you found the video.
So fun and simple. You’ve got it dialed and I’m learning through your eyes. New basecamp owner! Many thanks.
Congratulations on your Basecamp purchase! I’m sure you will have great adventures
New sub. Love your videos, keep them coming. God Bless you all.
Thank you! Will do Jack!
I’d like to see some riveted construction but those panoramic windows are WoW!
Yes they are for sure wow. Thanks for watching.
God is good and so are steaks and asparagus!
Amen to that
You use Lowerys season..
I love it..im buying a Basecamp
Great choice my friend! You will love your Basecamp.
Now I'm off to sprinkle some Lowery's on my food : )
You guys are doing it right
Thank you so much Clint. Giving it our best!
Great video! My partner and I are looking at moving into a basecamp, and my partner is 6’3”. I was wondering how tall you are, and if you fit into your basecamp well? (It’s my one worry.)
Hey thank you! I’m just a touch above 6’ 1” 🤠 The Basecamp is a fantastic Airstream model. I would have opted for the 20’ foot model but it had been released when I purchased.
Definitely go to a dealer and check out different models before buying.
Thank you for watching! Best of luck!
Noticed your plate is GA....I live in AL about an hour and a half from ATL. Any dealer recommondations? I have googled the 16x and prices are all over the place. I'd travel across the country to save $$.
I don’t have a dealer recommendation but I do know Airstream Inc is offering rebates right now. It’s on their homepage 👇🏼

Thank you Tom. I appreciate you watching.
Great video, I’ve been looking at airstream to to compare for my travel. It’s definitely top 3.
Thank you! Let us know what you decide on.
Thank you for sharing. I’m really thinking of getting a Base Camp. This really helps. My towing max is 3,500 lbs so I think the base camp 16 x will work.
Happy to share. Thank you for watching.
Congratulations on deciding to get a Basecamp or some kind of travel trailer.
You can probably tow with your current vehicle just consider total weight ( including gear, 22 gallons of on board water, clothes, etc ) because it all adds to.
Also tongue weight. Those big hills in Colorado can present a big challenge when you’re close to max tow capacity.
I have a diesel X5 with tow hitch 3,500 max
Not sure how many pins for electrical but knowing this really helps. I’m planning to rent from outdoorsy a base camp to test it out. Do you need a brake assist wiring to the tow hitch?
Great vid i plan to pull Basecamp 16x with my Taco. Got the Taco now shopping for a lightly used 16x. That's where I want to live. Love your schedule I need a structure day like yours.
Make it happen. I just saw an 18 BC pop up on Facebook last night for 29K. It was in one of the owner groups.
Amen! good vid my guy.
Glad you enjoyed!
God is good, brother. 👍
All day, everyday 🙏🏼
Real life...lived well in the BC 👍👌
Don Keller It’s my life and it is real. Thank you for watching!
👍 Keep’em coming. We looking to get the 2021 20’ 😁
Perfect!!!
How do you secure these in case you want to take the jeep in town?
I place land mines around it ; )
Also a trailer hitch lock and hub lock.
@@DavidWaldrip 👍 are those land mines available on Amazon?😎
Tofu scramble. I’m making tofu scramble in a cast iron skillet on the grill with grilled tortillas and a roasted tomato pico.
Love it! YumE 😋
How tall is the inside, I’m 6’3”, is the 16X tall enough inside?
I am not sure of the exact interior height but you would most likely be fine. My suggestion is to go inside one and spend a little time in their. Make sure to assess the shower. Also consider how "broad" your shoulders are.
@@DavidWaldrip thanks, appreciate it. Stay well.
Steak and veggies all the way 😎 Love these kind of videos bro keep it up
Bull Boss I have more videos in the works. Thank you for watching!
What knife is that in the beginning? Thanks.

Hi David, love your videos. Tell us about the WeBoost on your Gladiator and recommendations for staying connected on the road. Also, are you connecting while inside the trailer and how?
I am delighted to hear you enjoy the videos.
The WeBoost is the OTR model and as the name implies it gives me a boost for my cell phone. I have it on the vehicle because if I ever truly need cell service I figure I’ll be driving or near my vehicle.
I also have WiFi through my vehicle. So that gives me a fairly powerful signal.
In the Airstream I don’t use any boosters as of right now. If I don’t have service where I am parked it’s usually a good thing for me : ) I need to be less connected.
I also have a Verizon Mifi hotspot I use for data where AT&T service might be weak.
Hope this answers your question.
@@DavidWaldrip Yes, it was very helpful. So, you saying that the boosted signal from the WeBoost interacts with and strengthens the built in WiFi in the Gladiator? We have the same Gladiator/Basecamp setup by the way.
Great video. Does the Weber Airstream grill, required any additional adpaters or hoses or anything? I have a basecamp 20x on order, and love the idea of hooking directly in to the basecamps onboard propane.
Thank you kindly. How exciting that you have a Basecamp20X heading your way soon! I purchased the SHINESTAR 12FT Propane Quick Disconnect Conversion Kit for Weber Q Grill, Easy Connects to RV Low Pressure System off of Amazon. I will post the link.

@@DavidWaldrip you d'man! I will order the kit. I thought maybe the airstream edition weber would have everything already, but I will order the kit, and the grill. Yes very excited. i ordered the basecamp in early Sep, they are telling me a chance end of January but likely will be here in Feb.
Liked and subscribed. I have so many questions. I have a 2 door JK and have been looking at the gladiator. How does it tow? What size tires and lift are you running?
Me and the lady also are looking at an airstream basecamp X in the future as well.
Also, the inside of that weber has half of it dedicated to a skillet, that looks perfect.
First THANK YOU for subscribing. Made my day.
The Gladiator tows the 16BCX like it isn’t even back there. In the super steep mountain passes of Colorado it has to work ( think pedal to the floor ) but it still does well. Love the freedom panels and truck bed.
Running 35’s with no lift.
Weber Grill is the airstream edition. Good eye you have there. The right side is a “griddle” that I purchased to be able to do breakfast style foods on. Best cooking setup out there in my opinion!
Cool video, can you give the website for your chef knife?
i agree i keep looking at that knife

hi David. I give thanks everyday and every meal too. God bless. I’m looking for a basecamp x and still debating between 16 vs 20, wondering if you would share your opinion on why you decided on the 16bcx. I’m single and mostly travel by myself but just thinking about future proofing since this will be my “permanent” home. I drive a 4runner limited so total weight is very important. Thanks.
Get yourself a 19 or 20FB Caravel. It is MUCH better for "permanent" living. If the Caravel cost is more than you are looking to spend the Bambi comes in the same size but is a good bit easier on the wallet. Just the ability to always have the bed down is the biggest advantage the Bambi/Caravel has over the Basecamp.
Hi love your setup and videos... curious, what solar panel setup are you using? Looks like you are able to switch charging the basecamp AGM batteries to the Rockpal Lithium battery... having trouble finding a portable solar panel plus controller to accomplish this! Taking delivery of a BSX in a couple of weeks :) Bought a 500W Rockpal unit but trying to find the right portable/sturdy/compact way to use a solar for it and supplementing the Basecamp batteries.
Hey Brett. Thank you for your question.
I have a 180 watt briefcase panel I deploy to charge the 500 Rockpals battery bank. I also use that in addition to my 270 watt panels on top when charging the Basecamp’s two AGM batteries.
I just upgraded my Rockpals to the Goal Zero 500 and purchased their Boulder 100 watt Briefcase solar panel. Haven’t used that setup yet.
You didn't bash the steak to make it tender. Urs looked ok tho. I like mine very well done.
LOL. I didn’t smash it.
Sweet Rig! I've got a JTR and am looking to do the Basecamp 20x...how does the 16x tow?
You will be able to tow fine with the JT. The Basecamp 20X weighs about as much as my Airstream Caravel 20FB. Do you have a lift or oversized tires? If so, you may struggle at high altitudes pulling steep inclines. It will do it but it is a high rpm struggle. I'm not in that situation enough to want to regear though.
@@DavidWaldrip I'm Stock right now, but likely to choose 35s down the Road. I got a bump in MPGs once I crossed 10.5K on the Odometer so I probably will avoid 37s. I live at 5K elevation and the JTR seems pretty happy, but I don't have a heavy foot! 😊
Cool!!! I like the setup 👍🏾 you still riding the BMW GSA?
Thank you my friend. I no longer have the BMW GSA : ( but I plan to be back riding at some point. Hope you are good. Were you planning to attend the rally this year?
@@DavidWaldrip I had plans to go to the rally, but as you know it was canceled. As always I enjoy your Videos my friend. Keep them coming, they are very Motivating and good information...👍🏾
It is a bummer about the rally. Hopefully next year. Thank you for watching. More videos coming soon. Keep riding and living well my friend.
Where's the knife from?

Great rig combo-what’s max tow on your Gladiator?
Thank you. 7,000lb is max tow weight. There is one model/setup that can pull 7,500.
We call it a Navy shower
How many of the places you travel to require off-road capability? Where does on find out where one can travel and boondock offroad?
About 50% of the places I go require offroad. I usually use camping apps such as Campendium or iOverlander to locate sites. Sometimes just asking locals works really well too.
@@DavidWaldrip Thanks David!
How has the Gladiator been pulling the trailer? Are you able to tow it on moderate trails?
I don’t even notice the trailer is back there when towing. Moderate trails are no problem for the BasecampX.
The upgrades that come from the factory make it ready to go off-road from day one.
Oye, dasa beltalowda haircut, beratna. Sasa-ke?
Cool grill! I’m looking into the 16 x and 20x. Why do you prefer 16x ? You are MUCH TALLER than I am 😀 just curious. Thx
Thank you. The 20X wasn’t available at the time so I went we the 16X.
Both good choices. Need more room go for the 20X
How tall are you? I’m asking because I prefer the 16x but the 20x has a higher ceiling and I’m 6’5
I am just a little over 6’1. That’s a tough call. I would walk around in both before buying. I haven’t seen the 20X in person but like you I prefer the 16x.
How tall are you? I'm actually looking at getting one and curious to know how I'd fit in the bathroom (I'm 5'7")
I am 6’1”. I don’t fee cramped. You should be good to go.
Thanks I've been planning to buy a Basecamp but have not seen anyone actually using them much. So thanks! (You two eat like we like to eat btw)
I like to hear you guys are eating good 🥩 Hopefully you get yourself a basecamp soon. You’ll love it!
Hair bun really ? #TheSoyHasWon
Really really : ) Glad you find it sexy William
