Don’t understand why people are upset with her going thru her things,...that’s literally the point of the video. I like this vid very much. There’s something special about their chemistry on camera, you feel like they have known each other forever. Soul mate energy. It has the effect of helping me better absorb and appreciate the information. The down-to-earthiness, and ease of presence is so apparent and leaps off the screen. It’s made this vid really enjoyable, as a result Ive watched like 7 times. Just feels good. Great vid, one of my favs. Good job, well done. Cheers
What a nice comment! Thank you so much for watching. That was actually the first week we met Cass and have since become friends! Cheers!
I thought it was a fantastic video also. At first I thought they had known each other forever.
Agree. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Cass is a real cutie and very knowledgeable. Airstream should hire her as a rep.
I am averaging 20% water usage for a shower using the shower head on and off switch. The problem areas on the 2019 BaseCamp X I have are the roof plastics surround piece can crack and allow water inside the BaseCamp X. I fixed mine with Rust-oleum Leak seal to stop the leak. I also had a front center window where the roof crack allowed water running down the center window inside and during the winter it froze and busted my center window. That was a $2,000.00 repair I paid out of my pocket because I could not figure out at the time why the center window busted and did not file a claim on my insurance. Another area to watch is at the rear door bottom latch water collects at the bottom latch every time it rains and eventually will rust the latch. The Truma heating system works great I like the gas heater/water heater. Overall I am very happy with my purchase of my 2019 Airstream BaseCamp X and yes I would recommend others to buy the RV but learn from my challenges so your RV trips are less hassle. The one improvement I would want to see on future BaseCamp X models would be more solar batteries and more solar panels built into the RV. I added a third Zamp solar panel and it helps keep batteries around 65% charge using the onboard ceiling fan all night in the summertime. I purchased my 2019 Airstream BaseCamp X new last year and I actually had no idea Airstream even made an off-road version but I am glad I found this one model that fits my needs.
Thanks for sharing your experiences with your Basecamp! I'm sure potential buyers will find it helpful!
Thank you VERY MUCH for the excellent advice and warnings.
This is so far the most inspiring RV life video to me. Makes me wanna buy a 2020 Basecamp instead of a used one.
Consider looking at rentals for sale. You will be surprised at just how well maintained and clean they are. Used POS off craigslist and the likes is a waste of time. New models are a crap shoot. Never know if they will start out with defects you will have to deal with. By the time a rental model is up for sale, plenty of repairs and upkeep have already been done so you don't have to. ;)
@@WW-wf8tu Where?
@Trevor Johnson where are you, state?
I find that using 3% Hydrogen Peroxide spray works well on stainless steel to remove spotting.
What I love about her home is it looks like a home lived in , it’s beautiful and homey
Yes, she did a great job with her Basecamp. Perfect for one person and one cat and dog!😃
Love the Airstream Basecamp X. Thanks for sharing.
The Basecamp X is pretty sweet!! We are happy we were able to share our tour of it. Thanks for watching, James! - Chris
I have literally watched hundreds of RV ‘tour’ videos and this is one of the best. Nice, relaxed interview style and very informative on the basecamp. I admire Cass. You both did a great job of interviewing her. Thank you, from the north of England.
Such a nice comment! Thank you and thanks for watching 🙏😊
Thank you for interviewing Cass - she’s smart, adorable and not to mention beautiful inside and out! I literally can watch her change a light bulb 🥰
Thanks for watching! 😀
The issue with RV fridges is one of circulation. Just two things (that I know of) to do. One is arrange the food inside so that there is room for air to pass top to bottom, side to side. Two: a 12V computer fan with a pigtail socket...plug it in, place fan so it moves air, close door on the wire and especially if you follow tip one, relax.
Great tips! 👍😃
That's a cute set-up. I enjoyed the questions they were asking. I would only suggest that next time, ask the owner to open their cabinets and pull out the drawers, etc. They know the quirks of each thing they're going to open, so they can do it faster and smoother than you, and then it doesn't look like you're just pawing through their things. Also, if at all possible, step back or zoom out so you can show the actual storage items she was looking at rather than their faces. We can still hear them talk, but we could then also see what they are showing.
Good constructive suggestions! Thanks for watching!
Yes, great constructive feedback. I agree completely.
This has made me think about living full time in a Basecamp X.
This is the second time I've seen Cass shes lovely :)
👍😀

I think that I'm in love with Cass. Tell her that I'll marry her when I win the lottery. Lol. Great review of her trailer. 👍🏼 🏋️♂️
Thanks for all your input... I work for airstream helping build the nxt gen basecamp.... all these were good points! Keep camping!
Thanks for watching! Sounds like a sweet job!👍👍

I saw Cass before and like fitness too.
Wow, what an amazing setup. Reminds me of my Submarine days while in the Navy.
Sounds like you've had some adventures!⚓ Thanks for watching!
are you talking about being cramped in a tiny space and cant move or what thats what it looks like
Cool video. I've enjoyed my basecamp and tents for about two years. My family just finished a San Diego zoo trip and the basecamp held 6 people! The front and back tent are a must!
Whoa! 6 people, that's awesome. I've seen those tents before and they do look like a nice addition! Thanks for watching.👍
She is awesome.....great video! Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the links! Ordered up a few new things for the shower
Hi Shelley, thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy your shower upgrades :) It's the little joys in life, right? -Chris
Love the tip about the replacement shower head/shut off switch and all her upgrades. Need to try that in my new camper. Cassie really has it planned out for herself. Wish her the best of luck in her adventures.
Thanks for watching! 😃
This was my favorite video you have made. Excellent interview and of course the dog and cat closed out the video hard.
Thank you! It was a fun one to make and of course Cass is Awesome! Thanks for watching!
oh wow, i loved that basecamp!!!!!!....and her pets are adorable!!!!
Great setup Cass has..... and Jasper and Napaleon are living the good life!😺🐶
Thank you so very much for sharing your story!
Thank you for watching!
Fascinating. If I were the Insurance company, I would double Cass’s pay before she took her skills elsewhere.
👍👍
So many great tips!! Thank you so much for this.
Glad it was helpful!
Great info thanks. I bought a Basecamp in Jan and haven’t used it yet... about to test it out with the lockdown before I actually use for real. Definitely going to look into some of the extras talked about.
Nice! They are pretty cool little units, I'm sure you'll love it!👍
You are an amazing organizer and you are very creative! Nice and intelligent person too !
I'll let her know! Thanks for watching!👍
I was here to ask for amazon links but they were already posted. 😉😄 thanks!
👍Thanks for watching! Links also in the description. 😀
Great review ... two charming ladies. Best of luck and continued success!
Thank you so much!😀
Thinking of doing this, thanks for the upload.
👍👍
Thanks for sharing; always good content on this channel.
Appreciate that, thanks! 😊🙏
This makes me want one!!!!!!
I'm looking into this thanks for making this video especially you have pets it can work! :)
Thanks for watching!
I love this one! It looks very nice even though I typically don't get into modern, metallic look. There's one thing I'd one in an RV or a van if I was going it: A super comfortable chair :)
Cass is so cute and what a life! I am so impressed with everything she has created and done.
She is great!😀
There are daily shower sprays that you can spray on and leave it. I use it in my shower and use a squeegee. If I’m lazy I just spray it and leave it.
I like the windows behind the kitchen.
It is a beautiful view from the kitchen. Really makes it feel open!
What an awesome rig!
Her setup is pretty cool! When we saw it.... we said " we have to tour that!" 😃
I admire Cass’s determination and courage to get out there and live life to its fullest. Many talk about doing something like this, She is doing it. This is great to see and I truly wish here all the best!
👍👍
Love your video, nicely done!
Glad you enjoyed it!😃
Great video, great rig. I spend the winters in Quartzsite and the water in the area is nery alkaline and leaves white residue which is especially apparent on some like your shower stall. Don't ever try washing your in Parker. The more you wash the worse it looks.
many many years ago, we're that old, we lived in Germany on the economy. we were fortunate to have a very large bathtub room we shared with the couple up stairs....most of our friends had to heat up water to bathe in the kitchen in a little tub (not much bigger than a plastic bin from Walmart. I digress....everybody had a refrigerator about the same size as yours...fit under the kitchen counter. Since we could only afford to shop about once a month....I developed a system...created an insulated shelf, then put the vegetable bin on it. It was underneath the freezer coils. packaged up meats into meal size packs... Froze solid our meats . in the top (real) freezer area...once solid moved to the bin....which stayed frozen under the coils....then loaded the next more sensitive freezer items like frozen vegs or berries up in the "Real Freezer compartment... used plastic mesh bins in the bottom section ...for fresh vegs like cabbage, carrots ...since the upper freezer area had the insulated shelf the cold slowly drifted down....never lost fresh to freezing or spoilage... Soon other GI families were doing the same. :)
enjoy your youth and enthusiasm
Thank you for sharing that story. It helps to put perspective on life and most of us don't truly realize how "easy" we have it. Thanks for watching!😀
I love y'all's set-up, very nice. I would love to have a set-up like y'all's. So how long have y'all been doing this for.
Airstreams are awesome my uncle and aunt used to have one
Nice!!👍
love the Ouray sticker on the door :) (semi-resident 35 yrs)
👍
Would you talk about total monthly costs and do you have things, like storage somewhere, offsite, or is it everything you own? Thanks.
I honestly can’t wait until I get mine next spring....
NIce! What a cool RV the Basecamp is. Small, yet spacious and built like an Airstream!👍 Thanks for watching! - Aaron
Thats my fantasy - I want to get one of those and travel with a dog solo
Totally awesome!!!!

Nice. Shower wall cleaning-try swiffer w/ short handle. Probably good w/ all that shiny wall space.
Good idea!

You can have any local window glass company cut you any size mirror you want for 15 - 30 bucks.
Thanks for the tip!😃
Nice video guys 👍
Thanks, John! It was a fun video to make since we hadn't seen the inside of a Basecamp before! - Chris
Great Job. Got some helpful info. Please consider filming what they are talking about more accurately. I know space was tight but some of the details they were talking about did not get filmed.
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback.
tip for lettuce: separate the leaves, wash and dry as much as possible; wrap tigh-tish in clean kitchen cloth and put in fridge - it will keep much longer that way and you minimise the risks of freezing frazzled leaves.
Thanks for sharing your tip!
This is so amazing, this made my night I would love to have a set up just like this.when ever you see this comment would you please let me know what a set up like this cost along with the 4Runner please and what a base price on gas’ you spend like month, thank you very much ma’am
I actually loved the way you opened all the cabinets. Brilliant. As long as the owner doesn't mind, it's very informative. I also live full time in a tiny rig, and how we organize our stuff is so very important. I learned a lot. Can't wait to get those rechargeable strip lights and a mirror. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks for watching! Cass does a great job in her little Basecamp. You're right, you gotta stay organized when you live in such a tiny space!
Cool rig! She's cute too!
I love my Basecamp ❤️❤️❤️
Can you please tell me which windows actually open? Can't find this info anywhere :)
That Beautiful woman is from TX! She is awesome
COOL! fun video
Thanks for watching!👍
i might have missed it, ever wish you had the 20x.. i know you have said you loved the panoramic view over kitchen
Wow definitely find a better spot to camp, too many people in one open area.
Lol! I thought Irene had green hair, at first, because of the sun's reflection. 😂😏
😂😅 Greeen hair!💚 That would be something.😃
I herd something about animal hospital and clinics using bamboo charcoal packs you can get them at pet supplies you know for those pet odors.Hope it helps and it won't harm your pets with chemicals, well god bless you and take care 😇😇😇😇😇😇
Thank you for the tip! And thanks for watching and commenting😀
Cass is the reason I am a new Basecamp 20X owner as of September 7, 2021 and I am in love. I am not a full timer but hope to be a lot of timer.
Congrats on the new Airstream! How are you liking it so far?
@@IreneIronTravels Loving it and I a up North so will head south in March or so. They are a Beautiful RV I love it
HI, do you find the 4runner pulls this okay. I have a 4runner and wondered if the Basecamps might be a bit heavy, especially in hill country.
Cass, is surely the total package. A modern day renaissance lady of uncommon erudition, accomplishment, and charming warmth, all wrapped up in McGyver type resourcefulness, and deep empirical RV/Nomad wisdom. Best wishes to her two fur babies. I will sub her channel after this comment, and someday use her affiliate links. Commenter Nancy Asberry's uniformly superb constructive criticisms that were tendered respectfully, were impressive. As a side note for some levity germane to Nancy's comment(and I will endeavor to articulate this as clean as possible;), a lady friend of mine, residing in a prob million dollar "cabin" on Kodiak Island, Alaska's coast, had a visiter's child, if I remember, quickly open a bedroom dresser's drawer unannounced & while she was giving a tour of the cabin and stunning ocean views, Her black male Labrador Retriever in the blink of an eye "retrieved" her cucumber shaped "adult toy" from under a layer of clothing and bolted rapidly like a whirling dervish, out of said cabin, the toy firmly in his mouth, and ran hundreds of yards away, to a fishing ramp by the ocean, occupied by a number of local Alaskan fishermen. My friend chased that dog at top speed and finally caught him at the dock, with the entire crowd laughing their arses off. You can't make this up,lol.
May you all be safe, & Happy Trails, phil🇺🇲🍀❤️👍😄
This has - hands down - been the most inspiring RV-Life video that I have seen to date ... especially because maintaining a fitness routine is a priority for me. So, thank you SO for those notable tips (as well as the “height”, because I am 5’7”). 👍🏾
Only a few negatives… no sink in shower and black/gray tank combination. Although for the money I would of purchased a 16ft airstream Bambi which still have the same negatives as the Basecamp. Nice setup in any case.
My half German Shepard, half Doberman Pincher dog is named Jasper!
It is a great name!
Are you guys meeting up with Cass? Show her your set up. This was a fun episode, especially the pup!
We did get a chance to meet up with her this summer! 😊
so cool
😀👍
Small living - cute trailer
im liking the base camp camper
It is a pretty cool setup!
QUESTION:
Will your Toyota trunk open when it's hitched onto the Basecamp (both straight and turned at an angle?)
I'm about a month away from getting a Basecamp X and just had this thought, not sure if I need an extension. Going to be pulling her with my secondary rig, the Cherokee, but the Cherokee isn't setup to tow yet.
Thanks in advance.
Hey three, thanks for watching our tour video with Cass. She has a CZcams channel here czcams.com/channels/v3DKyWOKMPmwvKpYjdWTyw.html and I'm sure she'd be happy to help!
so how do you cook without the microwave or an oven? Just on top of the stove so fried or boiled?
I wish vanlife was around when I was younger. It was just called homeless back then. I lived in a broken bus for a summer but didnt think it was something to be proud of. It was a lot of fun though. Now I have kids so theres no way its going to happen anytime soon. I wouldve saved so much money.
It is nice to have options for sure. I'm glad this full time thing is becoming more mainstream. So many many options....... and so many beautiful places to see. Life is short and I don't want spend it in the same 50 square miles. Thanks a lot for commenting. Hope you get back out there when your kids are grown. Or just bring them with!😉 - Aaron
cass i love your yeps lol
everytime u say it i say

You can get one of those Chest freezers made for campers.. about the size of a laundry basket in different sizes, Runs off of electric or solar or batteries,,,,
👍⚡
Wow, what a great review for that trailer. I am still considering getting one. Cass did such a great job of making it her own and adding so much to it. I can see why more people are living on the road. Wish Cass had her own YT channel, she's very informative.
Thank you! We really likes the Basecamp and agree Cass should start her own channel!😃😃
Do you unhitch the trailer often … and where do you leave it?
Neat.
Awesome! I am thinking of doing this full-time starting next year so it's nice to see another woman doing this with a FT corporate job. :) I would've personally loved to see your work setup because that's one of my big questions, and also how your bed folds in half and you get the table out? Anyway, great job guys! I'm totally sold on this now, and will copy some of her mods. :)
Thanks for watching! Cass said she primary leaves the bed in place and only needs to flip it in half to get to the underneath bench storage. Her table just slides out and she uses it on top of the bed. Kinda like bigger version of a bed tray table. Hope you get out to try the FT lifestyle next year. Its a blast!
This video and vibe is excellent. I'm RV curious and I've been watching a lot of similar CZcams content. The show & tell rapport between the 3 was easy to watch and process, and the content details were easily understood by me. Cass is awesome. Thanks much-
Awesome, thank you! Really glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching! The "RV curious" stage is fun to dream and research!
Use a magic eraser for the bathroom streaks
Thx for the video. Cass seems to have a great free-living life. Based on your research and experience, what would be your choice of 20' and under travel trailer for full time living?
Being in a van ourselves we don't know a whole ton about TT's. We are partial to Airstreams and see a lot of full timers in them. They just came out with the new Basecamp 20 which is the bigger version of this one in the video. The Caravel and the Bambi also come in under 20 feet. We see a lot of Lance trailers which are known for their large tanks and that's why full timers like them. Outdoor RV's is also another good brand from Oregon and builds a great trailer. Good things to look for are large tank sizes, well built, and a good layout that works for your lifestyle. Solar and batteries are easy to upgrade if needed.
cass! i live near ouray, lake city. come this way and i can show you around. im 3/4 the way into my cargo trailer conversion!
Good video
Thanks!
Wow, she's just opening all this ladies stuff. Kinda weird

Thank you so much!! We had just met her a couple of days before recording that. She is a easy and down to earth person and we meshed well! Thanks for watching!!
I really wanna get a basecamp!
Great video. Great setup. I wonder if you could 3M the shower wall. On a side note that is probably inappropriate. Your guest’s eyes are incredible.
Thank you. 3m is an interesting idea! She's going to try a squeegee to see if that helps. We use one and it works great in our wet bath. -Aaron
Very nice...Airstream set the bar pretty high with that one! Do you notice it much towing? thx
Hello! The 2018 Toyota 4 Runner has a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs and the Basecamp's GVWR is about 3,500 lbs. Cass didn't mention any issues or problems towing the 16 ft trailer. She really likes her set up! Thanks for watching, -Aaron
@@IreneIronTravels I've always heard that auto makers/pickups always lean towards overstating their towing weight capacity & on the flip side the RV industry tends to understate weight. Any thoughts on that???
@@playhooky rv makers understate the GVWR because they know that people are going to overload them not realizing how much every pot, blanket, pair of shoes, food etc add up and then add water, waste water, batteries and boom, over weight. I used to haul new campers and told me they under rate the GVWR but wouldn't tell me how much. I don't know about auto makers.
Hitches are what people need to be concerned about. Get one rated higher than what you will initially tow because more than likely you will upgrade to something bigger. And if you never hooked up before or towed before, don't be afraid or shy to ask LOTS of questions. If the dealer can't or won't take the time to answer them, you are at the wrong dealer. Get out of there. This was meant for anyone reading this answer that got off subject.
I wouldn't pull it with a v6.
The airstream is nice but I’m curious how she lived out of the 4Runner before that. I have a 4Runner and have imagined what it would be like to try that in lieu of a van/RV/trailer.
