Smart young lady. Enjoyed your video. My wife and I sold everything and travelled full time in a 36 foot motorhome for nine years then the last 12 years traveling 1/2 time +/- . “May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
Amazing that you guys have travelled for that long Philip. You must have some amazing stories to tell. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your Airstream Base Camp story. We're ( my wife is) trying to teach her new cat the ins & outs of a harness so we can take the cat in our truck and 27' / 2007 Trailite Travel trailer. Up to the RV park where we store and use our trailer. Not sure if we will take it out on the road part time or full time , we're still deciding. The rona put a big roadblock in our plans. But we do love the Airstream! And we want to go look at a Base Camp! I'm 5 ' 11" , can I get a good shower in a Base Camp? Thank you! We're looking forward to your next Q n A.. . ......hopefully us & our dog & cat can say Hi! On the road!
@@artmurphy4991 Hi Art! You definitely will be able to use the shower comfortably. My boyfriend is 6' and he does come camping with me at times. Safe travels to you!

I always enjoy your videos, the Q and A was a great one. Loved seeing Jasper too.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Love the videos, a lot of great ideas to go on, thank you for sharing! Love Napoleon and Jasper too, keeping you safe☺️
They really are the best companions!
I've only been a subscriber for a few days, but as I mentioned after watching your INTRO video, you have a pleasant and calming tone to your videos. So nice. Really looking forward to catching up on your previous videos and ALL the ones to come. Keep up what you are doing...you are heading in the right direction and it looks like you are having a blast while doing it. All the best in 2021. Stay safe out there.
Wow, thank you! I'm really starting to enjoy creating the videos, so appreciate the feedback.
Thanks for sharing about your story. Continue to enjoy your travels!😊🐕🦺🐈🌄
Thanks Maxine!
Your life seems very interesting and fulfilling. Napoleon and Jasper seems very happy, both are gorgeous,( especially the baby pictures, melted my heart!)
Thank you so much!
Hey Cass! Really enjoyed your Q & A video. Nice to hear about your past and how you got into your current lifestyle. Would love if you did more of these!
Love how polished you and your channel are getting! Take Care...
Thank you very much Drew! Glad to hear the videos are getting better as I go as well.
Jasper is so laid back ... makes living in a small space with an animal way easier.
Absolutely does! Thankfully he’s very adaptable.
Hi Cass. I’m so glad you have a CZcams channel! I’ve seen your interviews from other CZcamsrs and I’m like she’s really cool!
Thank you so much!!
Loved the Q&A & the Basecamp breakdown vs rental apt.
We love Jasper smile, he's a handsome fella.
Lou & Angie
Thanks for watching Lou & Angie!
Thanks for the q&a. Feels like I can relate more. Your analytical mind covers most of your bases. Reassuring to say the least. Your fur babies are doing so well. Stay safe. Blessings
Thanks Vicki, really appreciate that.
Great work Cass!
Your analogy on rent and cost of a trailer made perfect sense to me. I wish u safe & healthy travels in the future 👍👍
Thank you!
Did the full-time thing for a couple of years in a class A. Was great for awhile, did a lot of traveling but missed the home base. Living day to day in an RV can get a bit much believe it or not. Having a nice home base in an area you enjoy AND the RV to vacation/travel/explore in is honestly the best of both worlds if you can swing it.
Really great to hear your perspective James. I may be coming up on that change as well so great to hear you are enjoying the balance.
Awesome video. Would love to hear more about the challenges associated with travelling with a kitty. This is my plan for retirement in a few years. My kitties do well with my current camper but we are seasonal campers who don't travel around. Love Jasper and Napoleon! ❤️❤️🐾🐾
Thanks Christina! I’ll definitely make more videos about Napoleon in the future.
Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you have found what makes you happy. Well done
Absolutely have. Been very lucky that way. Thanks for watching!
Very informative, Cass. Filled in some of the blanks about your life style and why you do what you do. And I like the cooking segments. And I like your dog. Reminds me I need to get a playmate for mine. Keep up the good work.
Thank you David! I had fun filming the cooking segment so looking to do another one again soon.
Thank you for revealing. Most of us don’t like to publish our learning curve like you have. So we think everyone else is so much smarter. But we just need to dive in and accept our errors as the cost of living the dream.
Absolutely! It's very hard to do without some sort of errors along the way. Appreciate you watching the video!
I love how his tongue hangs out! It’s so cute!
Thanks!
Dog is always a good companion for camping
Love your videos!!! My husband and I are thinking about purchasing a base camp and we learned about it through you!
Great to hear! Hope you find the best RV for you!
Absolutely a fascinating lifestyle. Thank you for sharing/posting! Safe travels to the Wanderlust family! (Q&A should be a regular thing...just saying.)
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the Q&A format!
So glad to see you doing more vids!
Thanks Kevin! Wouldn't have started if it wasn't for the one we did together, so appreciate the push to join CZcams!
May you never lose the lust for wandering
I sure hope not! Thanks!
You are an inspiration! Thank you for sharing your story. I absolutely love my Airstream. I have a 2021 Classic, we pulled it from Maryland to Texas and back. It was a great adventure.
That sounds like a great trip Linda! Those Classics are gorgeous.
Very well thought out video full of great info, thank you for sharing! Happy trails, blessings to you
Thank you!
You go girl!
Keep on shining bright and inspiring others 👍⭐️☀️🎶❤️🌹🎉
Thanks Amy!!!
Really enjoyed your video. A lot of good info there. Totally agree with you on finding a RV that did not look like it was designed in 1985. My wife and I have a Intech Sol Eclipse which is very similar to your Airstream in a lot of ways. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
Thanks! I haven’t heard of the Eclipse before I’ll have to look that up.
I really love your episodes. We bought a 27 Airstream Flying Cloud and it has opened up a whole new world to me in terms of remote working.
Your Basecamp isn't all that different than ours! You are awesome because we learn so much.
Thanks Dana, really glad the videos are helpful! So glad you are able to work remotely from the Airstream as well. Enjoy your travels!
Very encouraging to hear how you changed your plans along the way, and learn as you go what you want what works best for you. Very good advice here and very encouraging. Thank you and I look forward to watching more!
Thank you!!
Great video, very interesting and lots of Jasper, he's such a beautiful dog.
Thank you very much!
He is such a handsome pup.
BEAUTIFUL ! !
Yes, Jasper drew me into this video but I stayed for the interesting story
I love Jasper's floppy ear! So cute! :)
Haha yea it gives him a lot of personality! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the Q&A. Good luck whatever you decide. Keep the video coming
Thank you very much Jim!
Your video touched me in two ways. Last August my wife and I purchased a TAG Boondock XL and our 13.5 year old GSD named Jasper (just like yours) got to go on two trips with us before he passed away in September. I'm glad you have such a wonderful dog like Jasper to share your adventures and I hope he has a long and happy life with you just like our Jasper. Cheers and happy travels.
Thank you so much! Love that your Jasper had such a long and happy life. Hope you still get out to enjoy that T@G!
The Base Camp was a very wise choice, Airstream trailers are know for their intelligent design and their ruggedness. For decades people have been passing them on to their loved ones when they pass away. It was a good choice.
Thank you! It's definitely not perfect, but I'm very happy with it overall and hoping it lasts a long time.
I don’t know what i like more, your airstream or Jasper…..
I'd go with Jasper! Thanks for watching.
If you buy a house and decide to move a few years later, you paid interest up front. Plus you were losing money from the fees and all that stuff that goes with buying a property.
The best to me is the Travato 59k because it’s not a big RV at all only like 20 feet long, but yet the layout is beautiful and you can park it anywhere. When you were pulling some thing you can’t go into any spot that you want. Plus the 59K has a battery system that you can run your air conditioner for eight hours on battery and leave your dog inside
Yeah the Indian comment I was looking for!!!
If your in Florida ... you , jasper, and nepolean are welcome to visit my wife and I. No charge. We’re here for the winter months of November through April.
Always informative and interesting. Q & A segments would be a great way to inspire and pass on your helpful tips to those who are considering this lifestyle, as you did here with researching and settling on the Basecamp. As always, be safe and stay well.
Thanks for the feedback Lorrin!
I really like the airstream basecamp, thanks for all the videos of your journey.
Have fun and stay safe in your travels.
Thank you very much! Appreciate you watching!
You go girl wish you ONLY THE BEST in 2021 ! 😀👍
Thank you Stel!!

Loved this Q&A and hearing about your motivations, struggles and ideas to how you got where you are today - I'm curious about the cost of gas/food/maintenance if you'd be comfortable sharing about that some time!
Will do!! I can absolutely work on a video around that. Thanks for watching!
@@TailsofWanderlust thanks so much for making content! It's so fun to watch and really instructive too. 🏞️

So glad i found you! I have a cat, 5 yrs old and I just adopted a puppy for my weekend warrior companion. I kept trying to tell myself i want crazy for having two of as a single woman. We live in Austin and I'm moving to NC with them! 😂
I love it!! You are not at all crazy, they make such great companions. Safe travels!
i lived in my van for 5 months (by choice) and it was one of the most spiritually nurturing times in my life... it really simplified things. Work, eat, climbing gym, find a spot to park and sleep, repeat. I remember one of my favorite quirky memories of van life, was when i met up w/a bunch of friends for a camp trip. at the end of the camping weekend, i asked a friend what her plans were after the trip. she mentioned she was just going to go home and relax. She asked me what my plans were, and i realized, i didn't have a 'home' to go back to... lol my home was wherever i parked the van. there was something kind of 'freeing' about that moment, while at the same time, i felt the desire to be 'home.' The Lord was doing a work in my heart, to lead me to Jesus Christ!
Great to hear you had such good memories living in the van. There is something so freeing about this lifestyle!
Amen !!!!
It’s amazing how God can use any situation to stir our hearts !!!
Blessings
well, you’re as free as a bird
and it just don’t get much better than that...
thanks for sharin’ your adventurous life

Enjoy watching & listening to you, miss camping! We have had quite a few trailers, but we are older, I am 72 hubby is 80. Live in Colorado-snowbirds in Az house at both.Even have partnership in a Ranch in Wy. Yes we have it nice. But still miss that camping experience so now I enjoy seeing you, thank you, like how you are real, tell it like it is.
Enjoy girl while your young!!
Thank you so much! Really try to appreciate every moment that I get to do this. Hope you are staying warm in AZ!
the Q&A session was very interesting and helpful! I am thinking about getting some land as well.. while I am not a full timer, I have had one heckuva time getting campsites this past year.. I know some of the interest in camping will subside after Covid, but percentage of it will not.
Agree with you on that, this summer was quite crazy with the amount of new campers out there.
Great way to live fulfill yours dreams, love videos
Glad you are enjoying. Thanks for watching!
I love the style and design of the Basecamp. Super cool to see one getting so much use! Love it paired with the 4Runner too.
They definitely make a good combo. Thanks for watching Tom!
I just came across this video. Good for you. I used to travel with my dog, Rex. He was a border collie mix. And later adopted Wilson. Rex was 65 pounds and Wilson 90 pounds. I was never worried about problems. My "guys" kept an eye on me, and loved every minute of it. I am so excited to find your channel. It is amazing traveling and exploring. I feel much safer out in the boonies than in town. ........I lost on a Campervan also....LOL I traveled in a 1993 Chevy G-20 Van for several years as a weekend warrior. I purchased an old 2000 Dodge van buidling out currently from scratch. And an old Avion (this will be a later project). Spent last 2 years getting out of debt. (Now I am debt free except my home mortgage). Look forward to travel DEBT FREE in 2021. Looking forward to more on your channel.
Thanks for watching Kim! I wish you amazing travels in 2021!
Ahh kitty is so beautiful and sweet. ❤️
He definitely is a sweet one. Thanks for watching!
I love my Basecamp but think I would need a bigger rig to go full time....but I’m quite a lot older than you. Stay safe and enjoy your travels! 😎
Hope you are enjoying your BC for now! Thanks for watching!
The look on Jasper's face when you said that it's "fun" (17:57)... PRICELESS... LOL!!!
Hahah! Didn't notice that until you pointed it out!

Have an amazing time with your Basecamp Phil!
Great story and I know this isn't an Airstream commercial but I hope they are paying you for the great endorsement
Thanks Mike appreciate that! I’m not at all paid by Airstream.
@@TailsofWanderlust I figured that but if I worked for them I would send you some money for your public support of their product.
this is so inspiring. The "situation" has really kindled the fire for my wunderlust and I just wanna get in my corolla and adventure. LOL on the corolla. This video is great. My question....What has been your most reliable reststop/truck/gas station/ walmart to stay at while on the road?
My most reliable stay is Cracker Barrel’s. I’ve always felt safe. They have always been in nice shopping centers. And I love being able to get food after a long drive.
Thanks for sharing your travels. That was always something I wanted to do… however I’m sorry to say I waited to long. I enjoy your stories & traveling tips. I have moved to Colorado 3 years ago & I’m havinga lot of trouble adjusting to the changes that are here. Is extremely different than what I am use to. I’ve subscribed so I don’t miss any future vids. You take good care of yourself & your fur- kids.❣️

Haha yea it was over an hour of film to edit down 😂. Thanks for watching!
I am a single female and would love to travel and go see things. My concern is taking my dog with me everywhere. She is my side kick.

Great video! And thanks for answering my question 😃👍
You’re welcome!! Appreciate you asking it!
Just saw this I did the RV life for 7 years, I miss it. Oh it loo s like from your photo you need a weight distribution hitch. Front end appears to be way to high for such a light trailer. safe travels.
Amazing that you did it for 7 years. And yes, this photo was prior to installing a new suspension + air bags, so that sag is no longer there. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for sharing ! What wonderful adventures you must have! Do you ever have trouble managing with Jasper and your Kitty while boondocking ? I know during road trips in my car I have worried about keeping them cool if I have to leave the car. Do you run your AC on a generator or are you just in temperate climates ?
Best thing is stay away from old rvs/vans,,, engines get old... buy a Truck, or jeep or suv new and then a camper,,, just like you did,,,
The ease of use of a new RV is a really great benefit of it.
Yeah, buy new one good idea but some of us cant afford a newer one. Guess that is why so many people living in tents now (homeless)- Its different if u just RV for fun VS because u cant afford rent.
@@Rvnmoon111 that’s why?
I was wondering the same thing, I am thinking of buying a vintage C class and renovating it but if it breaks down there goes your home. Lots of things to think about.
Thx for your imput
Definitely keep the Q&A posts, you are so well spoken and your Italian hands add so much, makes me miss my mom. Stay Safe and don’t forget about Arizona.
Will do, thanks Don!
I've been considering this as well. All good information. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Very nice job. From a former TV writer-producer, your narration and presentation is very professional. Okay, pleasantries aside: I have a few questions regarding your solar package. You have two panels on the roof and added the additional ground panels. What wattage do all panels now pull? Do you find the upgraded items excessive, just right or just making it, for your power needs? Based on many of your narratives, I assume your father helped you with the install of upgrades... Did you find it intimidating? Moving on, I really want to know more about the weBoost (sp) system. It's something I want, but know little about. And the apps you mentioned in your travels for a new refrigerator. More attention to the different apps available would be helpful. Maybe it's own video.... And finally, I enjoyed the cooking segment. Making fried rice and mixing it up does make for a weeks worth of great meals. But I kept waiting for you to remove that dogie bag from the smoke detector... Otherwise, good concept and worth more production time.
Thank you very much for that! The deployable are 160W and rooftop are 180W for a total of 340W. For living full time and working full time, I find it just what I need. However, if I didn't have one or the other (not having to run a laptop all day or not living full-time) it may be more than I really need. My father helped me with the 12V install, and it was intimidating until he showed me as I didn't have much experience in electrical. When it came to the full lithium upgrade I did hire someone for that. As for the ideas for future videos, I've added a bunch to my list thank you for the ideas! I do have an internet video out right now which does go over the WeBoost a bit more. Thanks for watching!
I would love to have a home and do this part time
That would be great if you can swing it!
I've always owned property and I've always had a small RV. Doing both part time is the dream.

Oh nice! Glad you are on YT now! I first learned about the Basecamp when I saw you interviewed by 30 and Wake Up! It got me shopping for one but the Airstreams (and all small travel trailers for that matter) are really hard to come by these days!
They sure are! The demand for RVs right now is quite crazy. Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much!
A tale of caution, be careful when towing a single axle trailer as a flat tire at speeds over 30mph can have dire consequences. This applies to all single axle trailers.
Great reminder to be careful with it!
I'm so glad I found you! I purchased a Winnebago Class C 3 months ago to live in full time. I'm disabled and spend days on end in bed in pain, so about 6 months ago I decided that if I'm going to be in bed unable to go anywhere, why not move my bed? On the days when I can drive, I will (post Covid of course), and on the days when I can't, at least the view outside my bedroom window changes😊 So I sold my condo, packed up my cat, and we are on the road, (well, mostly my mother's driveway until Covid let's me visit friends and family outside of my bubble🙄) I think I've already decided to sell my Class C and swap it for either a Class B or a small trailer; the Class C is only 25 feet, but it still feels too big. Anyway, I look forward to following your journey and learning lots! Thank you so much💗
Hi Michelle! It is so good to virtually meet you. I love your perspective and how you are taking a leap to enjoy life. Staying in your mom's driveway is a great way to start and learn the ins and outs of living in a RV before heading out on travels. I wish you amazing journeys in the future, and maybe someday I'll run into you out on the road!

Don't see why you have a boy friend.i traveled alot on camping and seeing and meeting new people for off on on 5 yrs.work awhile save money then take off and having a girl friend was not a option to worry about.had friends to travel with that were female, but no emotion commitment.this was 70s 80 s.lot different then, but enjoy your life while young it passes fast,be careful this world is really dangerous now.no way I do the things now I did then in my van.

Albuquerque is awesome. Glad you liked your stay here.
Love that town. Still one of my favorites.
Hey Cass, clicked on your channel for information on the nomadic lifestyle and your choice of rig and noticed two things. My late dog, a golden, was named Jasper and I lived in Ouray, Colorado for a year. I used to take many trips in a self customized van, but have been stationary for much to long. Time to change that! Thanks for your content, I'll be back for more.
Living in Ouray must have been an amazing experience. Thanks for watching!
