- Join us as we spend the next few days exploring the streets of Amritsar, the Sri Harmandir Sahib Golden Temple, and the Attari/Wagah Border. There is definitely a different feel to Amritsar than Mumbai. Temperature-wise, it was much colder, the food has more spice to it, and the city has an older feel to it. Of course, we love all parts of India because each state is so diverse and has its own unique style. In this video, we will show you where we are staying, give a street food tour, walk past the Golden Temple entrance (where we met so many lovely families), get fitted for turbans, and enjoy delicious Punjab food. Of course, our first meal HAS to be kulcha and chole. We visited Amritsar six years ago when Granite was 4 years old and Cedar was 2 years old. We have been craving Kulcha ever since. We are so excited to bring Forest here for the first time and to make more memories here as a family.

We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in Chennai, India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. We hope our vlogs will inspire you to get out and travel, too!

This shop has the best location. It’s right next to the Golden Temple. The guys were so friendly and patient with our family. The Sikh community is so amazing.
I was actually there last week... Beautiful holiest sight of SIKHISM.. Very nice the surroundings also with it being pedestrianised. It was the highlight of our trip amritsar... Also went Delhi... Mumbai.. Goa 🙏🇬🇧👍

Wow, never been to Amritsar nor have i seen any vlogs about it, this was 1st time for me exploring Amritsar thanks to you guys 😅😅.
Surprising, very very surprising and amazed to say the least. I know about Golden Temple and have seen many videos about it on CZcams. But what is around the temple and hows the city, it was my 1st time. It was way lot more hectic than i thought. Yet the people were very good, especially the shop owner who helped you tie the turben. Humming, talking and explaining, he felt like a jolly person. We could see many people around you who were in very high spirits as well.

Have breakfast at Kesar da dhaba, very very popular, I tried it also when I was in Amritsar sooo yummy, especially their sweet curd and it's nearby Golden temple but remember to reach that dhaba early like 10:30ish am after that, there will be a heavy rush. GL and happy journey ahead.
