- 'The King' of NASCAR - like you've never seen him before. Richard Petty opens up about the loss of his wife and grandson, his Daytona 500 crash, what he wishes he'd done differently as a father as Kyle was coming up in the NASCAR world, and so much more.
After 75 years of Petty Enterprises, 'The King' of NASCAR says the legacy behind the Petty name...won't be racing.

So glad he has continued to be blessed with good health. He's shown generations how to be humble and respectful
That was a great interview. I grow up a Richard fan. We went to fan club meetings in Pocono every for about 8 years straight. He is one of the nice's guys you will every meet. He would sign autographs and take photos with each and everyone of his fans for hours and hours straight. He never left early, he stayed until everyone got the autograph and photo. The interviewer asked him how you wanted to be remember. I will remember him for being an really great guy.
Appreciate the gentleman interviewing Richard. great interview
I agree!
THANK YOU RICHARD PETTY
Ain’t many people as tough as Richard Petty. My Hero
I met Richard in the pits at Daytona about 2005 o 2006…. He was just as polite as he is in this interview. It’s nice when a person doesn’t let success go to their heads.
An absolute gentleman, so nice to see him looking so well.
Hasn’t raced since 1992 and still doing interviews about his career and life. It shows how great he truly is as a man and was as a driver
@patrickbrannon1325, When Dale Sr re-joined RCR, in 1984, Richard Petty stopped winning NASCAR races.
@@sergeantmasson3669nascar changed, he wasn't racing a bunch of strokers anymore 🤣😉
@@joshsmith4512 According to who, you? Your comment reveals your own level of ignorance.
@@sergeantmasson3669 yeah ok if you say so buddy. the pettys had money, eventually had big corporate sponsorship. rubbing against independents and strokers. had little competition, cry all your want facts are facts, your hero beat up on strokers. 🙄 name them? ok you had Jarrett , seldom ran a fun season couldn't afford it. jr Johnson, never ran a full season. Parsons? thats it bro. fireball? maybe if he wouldn't have died. there was weak ass competition, lose ass rules. pettys had the money and the rides. get over it
@@sergeantmasson3669 by the early eighties you had corporate sponsorship, full time pro drivers. and he fades away, let's talk about 83 and his cheating ass🤣 his days were done , the days of the stroker and independents are coming to an end, and so did pretty dominance🙄
A Treasure and a blessing !
A humble child of the Almighty.

Excellent Interview. Thank you.
The King for ever
Only the coolest can wear shades indoors!
Growing up my dad always rooted for Earnhardt but I always rooted for the king!!!!
"If Your Not First You're Last!!!"
That’s cool video I’ve always liked Richard , haven’t had the chance to get to meet with him. Like the hat he wears , have a cousin that went to school with Adam at randelman Hs . His mom my aunt lives down the road from victory junction campground. Glad to see Richard looking good , thanks for lots of excitement in racing.
Aa a lifelong Petty Fan this was an Outstanding program!!! 💙
Made me feel so proud of the racing history of this family … now I would like to meet the King
You can see the step up in the foundations in some of the old black and white clips. Thank you for this!
Great interview! Just ran across this minutes before I'm about to watch the 2024 Daytona 500 and pulling for Eric Jones!
He is the Best that ever been
❤ Love this!!!
Historical account of racing that is the main reason I follow NASCAR. He is a great historian and gives a picture of the what it was really like.
Do you know he has signed his name more time than anyone else? It cant be proven, but who else could it possibly be. Let me know.
Maybe Garth Brooks?
@@nunyabusiness8887 you've got to kidding. Even garth has Richard's autograph. Does he sign everyone in line? Richard does. Also he's been signing since the late 50s before garth boy was born.
Garth once spent 24 hours straight, signing autographs at Fan Fair. He is one of the biggest country stars on the planet and has performed all over the world. He's up there. Calm down.@@saddletramp6935
@@nunyabusiness8887 Garth who?
Do you live under a rock?@@billiverson9014
audio is horrible
Music is too loud and Richard is too quiet.
Fabulous fabulous fabulous.
Would like to see the modern 43 team run in at least top 10???
Kenny BIG FAN! Hey, if you were a “regular guy” and “regular mom” and you had an unlimited gas pump at your house - how often would you stop (or have to) for gas? In general, with EV’s you would only go to a gas station for vacations or road trips, right. (hey I watch every episode - but I would I send you an email?). thx
LonG LIVE dad 🤴 4ever
MopaRRZZ&BO TYE dye zz
Just keep that kid Kyle quiet 🤫 dang he's annoying
This man made all his money from racing Chryslers. As far as I'm concerned switching over to Toyota He's just a traitor he let Toyota pay him off for his name to put two more cars in the Daytona 500 that are Toyota's I hope he never wins another race as long as he lives he's a traitor enjoy all that money that Toyota gave you that's all you're ever going to get.
No mention of how many times that he cheated in NASCAR, though.
