It was a dramatic olympic for the Russian trio. Trusova was crying and pissed off at their coaches, Kamila was crying from the doping scandal pressure & Anna was stunned not knowing what to do despite winning the olympic. They should've not let Kamila participate in the first place, knowing well how the media would scrutinize her. They claimed she was a protected person, yet what they did made the situation worse. Poor Kamila, her coaches & doctors should've taken the blame instead.

It was really helpful to see both performances side by side. That's so much pressure for a kid; even without a doping scandal. I sincerely feel sorry for her; but not as much as most people seem to. I think mainly for two reasons: 1. The "poor" performance still looked very good to me. Anyone could tell she was just distracted. People are acting like this is the most shameful, ruinous, horrible, abusive thing that could happen to a 15-year old girl. I promise, it is very very far from that. She didn't perform well - once. Her career is far from over. 2. What about the little girls who weren't doping? They didn't even get to enjoy their "once in a lifetime" moment because they were all feeling so sad and sorry for her. That's not fair either.

you clearly know nothing about being a skater but it’s ok, she might never get a chance to perform at such important events ever again due to her coaches abusive teaching style. her injuries will start to build up and eventually will have to stop competing at an early age. also for non figure skater both performances will look great! but for us we see every flaw and every under rotated jump and its crucial that we don’t mess that up. it’s truly sad some people can’t see the abuse kamilas coach puts on all her students

It is a terrible injustice to this dedicated and talented skater. The people she trusted did her dirty. Yes, the test results were 6 weeks old. Yes, another non banned drug can leave metabolites similar, so the testing must be very specific to determine the results. IMHO, there is reasonable doubt. However, the ruling went against Russian skating authorities, and that my, friends, is where this blame should rest. She was victimized by the people she was supposed to be able to trust. I wish her well. She did her best and held up with dignity and grace. So now, 2 years later, medals are awarded. There are no winners in this, only sadness for the invalidating of all the hard work and dedication to all the skaters involved.

She fell because of the pressure. I find it interesting that, in 2014, Eteri had another star pupil, Julia Lipnitskaya. Eteri insisted that Julia skate both programs in the team event. Her iconic free skate garnered much media attention--so much that the pressure built on her to win the gold medal in the individual event. Instead, she fell and came in 5th, I think. That was also, basically the end of her career. The Eteri-group skaters are already under so much pressure to perform and also to keep from being replaced by a newer, younger skater. It is no wonder that they often buckle under the pressure.

If the skater is rushed or is behind the music, you cannot tell because anything could be playing in the background and can still be considered artistic. Everything reeks of politics... precisely because of what you pointed out. Valieva was the victim of repeated child abuse by the Russians and the short sightedness of the CAS. And the media? Guilty until proven innocent. The protection of minors should always be the top priority. The CAS failed to exercise discretion in their harsh ruling. Do you throw the book at a previously abused child just because the rule book says you can? My heart goes out to her. All the more the pity because child prodigies are a rarity. Is it fair for her to compete while taking a banned substance? No. Does she skate the way she does because of that substance? Hell no. What a debacle. Eteri Tuberitze rigged this whole competition and set everything up for the other two, particularly Anna. She ruined Kamila and will most likely disregard her like trash when she has aged out.
This beautiful girl took the brunt of her coaches shame . I still believe she was told to fall on the individual event. She was too solid in warm up, practice, and the team event. Her falls don’t even look real on some of the jumps. Just silly.
I pray God gives her a chance to redeem herself professionally. She deserves it and there just won’t be another Kamila. She is pure beauty and grace. I don’t think I will ever forget the pain in her eyes and on her face after each of her individual performances. I couldn’t look anymore. She could be skating to anything. The arm movements and overextensions are so superfluous, it feels likes she trying to cram as many in as possible, rather than putting intention behind them. While the jumps look impressive on paper, there is some weird technique going on that isn't quite exemplary.
