    The same “bones” of the building with a lot of reconfiguration. Also, I think your theory about the connection between The Twilight Zone and Beverly Hillbillies is a big stretch.

    • @ricknineg
      @ricknineg  Před 2 měsíci +19

      Yes! This is exactly right! Same structure and they redress it. This is done in Hollywood all the time to disguise a building or even a car. Plus stretching is good for your health! 😂

    • @PGAprodan
      @PGAprodan Před 2 měsíci +23

      @@ricknineg - Not buying it. The base of the TZ building is noticeably bigger, something that wouldn't likely change in a re-dress. The angle of the roofs are different, something that wouldn't change even in a re-dress. Also, observe the size and count the tiles on the roof, this is where you can easily tell the significant size difference. Imagine taking the door on the BHB shack and moving it around to the side and you can quickly see that the side of the BHB shack is much smaller. The fireplace is different, and coming up at a different location relative to the position for each. Sorry, there are too many things wrong with your speculation and your support of your explanation is too minimal. The steepness of the roof angle was all I needed to see though, nobody is going to change trusses for a re-dress, at that point it is easier to start over.

      Not the same bldg... The siding is completely different, there are no logs being used for the building in Beverly Hillbillies, the buildings are 2 different sizes, and not even the surrounding trees match, so, you're wrong, but you're welcome for being shown there are zero similarities. 🤦‍♀️

    My brother knew Max Bear, Jr. when he lived in Lake Tahoe. Max Bear told him he owns the rights to the title "The Beverly Hillbillies." He told my brother he wants to open a casino using that name, but that there are so many laws and legal hoops for him to jump through, he said, he's not certain now if it will ever happen. He told my brother, "I played an idiot on television for years, but I was only acting! These politicians, though, are real idiots!" lol

      That ship has probably sailed. It was many years ago when Max Baer Jr. planned to open a casino complex in Reno, including a restaurant to be called "Granny's Vittles". Good first-hand info on what Baer considered to be the major problem. I had assumed it was financing.

      Thank you to everyone for enjoying the video and supporting my channel by watching it! Some are commenting how the cabin is not the same. It is. I want to further clarify how in Hollywood it is very easy to remove pieces of a structure. You can easily swap out a chimney or make a wall planks versus logs. They usually use materials that look similar to wood or stone but are not wood or stone. Foam and lightweight material are used instead.
      In I Love Lucy, it was very common to use the same façade and remove and add windows and even at a wall section where there was a door before. This is a similar concept that they expanded upon in the 1960s. This is why you will see that the structure is overall the same but there is a missing chimney and then the porch is a little bit different. Other than that, the structure is the same.

    I had a long interview with Eddie Albert back in the early 1980s and one of the stories he told was about an episode of the Outer Limits where his character planned to give up city life and take his wife to live on a farm in the country. In typical OL form his plan went sideways even faster than it did in Hooterville, but an interesting coincidence had the hapless city couple meeting a stereotypical hayseed farmer played by Mr Hunnicutt. So you perhaps could draw crisscrossing lines between the CBS shows and the Outer Limits (which I believe aired on ABC stations).
    Actually the part of the story that Mr Albert enjoyed the most was following a huge attack by frogs on the soundstage. Enough frogs escaped to render the soundstage useless for several months because of the annoying chirping and croaking.

    Noticed this same actor on Perry Mason last night. Played a similar character, also with a dog involved. So, your theory on the commonality in the universe has a new twist!

    This is my favorite episode of the Twliight Zone. Arthur Hunnicutt was a great character actor and he was famous for a very specific line he used in a movie, Red Badge of Courage.
    His line was;
    "A dog, a woman, an' a walnut tree Th' more yeh beat 'em, th' better they be!"
    Now that is truly Woke!. - Satire

    This is definitely my favorite Twilight zone. It is also on my short list of favorite TV episodes of any TV shows. "A man will walk into hell with both eyes open. But even the devil can't fool the dog! " Ironically I named my first yellow lab Rip, and I didn't have him a year.

    Good video. She does remind you of Granny or Jethro's mom on Beverly Hillbillies. No had not fully known it was the same cabin. Now, Arthur Honeycutt had a dog also on Bonanza. Named, "Walter." In a couple of episodes of Bonanza. FYI. Good actor. Take care. Thanks, Rick.

    Sorry Rick, but those are two different buildings. The Twilight Zone cabin is bigger with a taller roof and has log siding, with a different porch. Just a look at the dimensions, roof and how the logs joints jut out on the sides of the TZ cabin. The smaller cabin from The Beverly Hillbillies has a smaller pitch roof and has hewn siding. At a glance they are very similar, but very different when compared side by side.

      It’s the same cabin. It’s easy to remove windows, beams boards. The blueprint is overall the same. You’ll notice the chimney is removed too. The inside of the cabin is different because that’s not shot outside but created on a sound stage

  • @jtodora
    @jtodora Před 2 měsíci +3

    I can't buy that they are the same cabin. The Beverly Hillbilly cabin has a stone chimney. Also the cabin in the Twilight Zone uses actual logs for the walls, with overlaps on the corners where the Clampet cabin uses boards. The Clampet cabin also looks much smaller and the porch is raised off the ground and shorter than the Twilight Zone one that is ground level and wider. So...I don't buy that they are same cabin. But than...what do I know? 😂😂🤣🤣 Either way, I love this Twilight Zone episode and I love the Beverly Hillbillies. Keep up the great work.

      Chimneys are small type objects can be redressed in a flash. You can also easily swap out a plank wall for a log one

    Yeah, I think your whole “Beverly Hillbillies in the Twilight Zone” premise makes as much sense as Mayberry existing in the Star Trek universe and Stalag 13 being next door to Gomer Pyle’s Camp Henderson.
    It was DesiLu Studios re-using sets, nothing more than that.

    You have such an amazingly awesome mind! Your connection theory at the end of this video truly blew my mind! 🤯 The couple in the TZ episode are almost a carbon copy of the Clampett style. So yeah, I can see what you’re saying. Another Keanu Reeves “whoa” moment!
    What I’m wondering is if behind the scenes the TZ people knew of the BH project and specifically wrote and produced this episode just so the props, costumes, and all could be used again for BH, not just the cabin? Like a collaboration of sorts? Regardless, great video including the insider info on the dog’s name being RIP. You are having a great year of videos so far. Honored to be a supporter of such great work!

    Well if you want to play the "Six Degress of Separation Game", Arthur Hunnicutt plays a rural farmer type who dies and is re-animated in the 1964 Outer Limits episode "Cry of Silence". This episode starred Eddie Albert who later starred in the series "Green Acres" (1965-1971). So the Outer Limits and Green Acres could be in the Twilight Zone as well.

    The cabin is a Tardis to/from the Twilight Zone, doh!
    Actually all these "same location/studio/set, different show" examples point to just how thrifty producers are and how talented the writers, actors, and studio technicians were to have us not notice what was right in front of us, in the same year or season.

    I've been a huge fan of The Twilight Zone since I was a kid. One of my proudest moments was getting to meet and shake the hand of Rod Serling when he gave a speech at my college in 1971 or1972. The Beverly Hillbillies was a bit too corny for me, but I know a lot of people loved it.

    I'd bet you would see that same cabin prop used in the Davy Crockett films, Daniel Boone series and many others whenever they needed an old rustic prop. I remember when Agnes Moorhead played in a Twilight Zone episode where an old woman living by herself in the country was attacked by aliens who had landed a saucer shaped craft on her roof. The invaders kept shooting her with their guns, but she finally destroyed them in the end. The Saucer had a USAF painted on it as the plot twist at the end. It was interesting in that it was first performed live and there is not a single word spoken by the actress the entire time!

    This episode of TZ is one of my favorites. Both for the lesson/moral and because of Arthur Hunnicutt... The man was great in everything he acted in. One of his best roles was as the deputy Bull in the John Wayne film El Dorado.
    I believe The Beverly Hillbillies and TZ were both CBS productions... So reuse of the cabin would make sense.

    Paramount did a great injustice to Quinton Reviews after the 38 hour review came out about Beverly Hillbillies. They claimed copyright on most of it and made it clear they would continue to strike any form of it while it's basically giving their content free advertisement and had no capability 'to replace the original' or 'cause loss of income' to the copyright holder.

    Arthur Hunnicutt was also a favorite actor; I never pick up on the "RIP" correlation, till you mentioned it..
