    Likely not news to you but thought I'd throw this out there for others that may not be aware... A short length of fishing line (adjust length to your preference) running from the center front edge of your ESC tray, down to the center rear of the servo mount, will stop the front from unloading on steep climbs as shown in this video. BUT, because it's located at the center pivot point of the front axle will have little to no negative effect on articulation. Much more useful than running limit straps or rubber bands at the shock locations, IMO, as that DOES inhibit front axle articulation. Very simple to do, and essentially free. Just a drill a small hole in the center at each location, run a short piece of fishing line through them and start experimenting with length until you get what you like. Once you have it the way you like it, place a little spot of hot glue (or Shoe Goo) at each point to set the length, and trim away the excess to tidy things up. Wham bam, thank you mam! Keeps the front planted and no more hyper extension of the front shocks on climbs.

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah I talked about that a bit in my Injora shock vid. I just don’t care for any style of limit strap. It still lets the body roll side to side a lot on side hill situations. I just prefer to run a forced droop setup in the front that holds tight but still allows the flex when needed. Whatever works works though! I just hate limit straps and I’m not really sure why 😆

    • @michaelc3416
      @michaelc3416 Před 2 lety +1

      @@2fmrc Yeah, I get it. Do you have a video where you describe your preferred forced droop setup in detail? Currently planning my next build and always looking for new ideas. And some of your rigs do really really well! I did stumble upon a video recently where the builder used a secondary servo to suck the chassis down tight when the situation demanded, and then free everything up for full articulation when desired. Not sure how well it would work in practice, but it did look very interesting in the video. I may have to give that a try at some point just to play with something new...

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  Před 2 lety +1

      @@michaelc3416 yeah I’ve seen a few people do that with the servos. Kinda like dig on these rigs though. I just don’t really want that extra weight of a servo mounted anywhere but the axle lol. I talk about the setup I’m running on most of my trucks in this vid. I’ve had great results with it so far. My latest build with the portals in the rear has this setup and is probably the most capable 1/24 I’ve seen in person lol. I’m sure someone has em more capable but it’s a beast for sure! Especially to be a fairly simple rig running a body.

      @@2fmrc Thanks for the link. Great info! And yeah, the weight of a high mounted servo was my consideration as well with the servo suck down thing. You have a lot more experience with these little things obviously, and I've only seen it done once. Just thought it was pretty cool for certain applications. You know how it is when you first see something new to you and think, "Wow, never thought of that before...". But yeah, that's why I keep watching your videos, and keep learning... Peace.

    I was really interested in these after I saw west desert wheelers video about them on 10th scale. But non were available for 24s at the time so I took the foams out of my Chyrax. And I’ve actually been so happy with them foamless. The 24th scales actually doesn’t have enough weight to roll over the tires as it is unless you’re in a really awkward bind. The only time I’ve seen my sidewalls give so far was a side hill I was already falling off of

    So that's what you where talking about when sticking with the 3D printer you bought unless the resin printer. Those are bad A$$ to say the least. I love how they hold up on the side hill. I have been combating that with tuning discs in the foam and then fighting to get the bead lock set. Thanks for the great video and bringing the latest and greatest to us and thank you for keeping my bank about empty.......LOL. If you where really interesting in increasing your climb angle you need to raise the rear upper links higher at the skid plate. The rule of thumb for the distance of link separation at the axle is equal to 1/4 the diameter of the tire. IE: 2 inch diameter tire = 1/2 inch separation. Keep up the great work!!!

      Have you ran scramblers? Definitely need these! Most of the others I agree though. Not a huge deal. I’ve had them smash like that plenty of times though when you’re at a slight side hill but wedged between rocks. I’ve basically ripped tires because they’ve folded completely over in those situations. Not completely necessary but needed at times no doubt.
