Ingredients and Measurements:
2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
2 cups of grated coconut
3/4 stick of butter (or coconut oil or vegan butter)
1/2 tbsp. baking powder
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup custard powder
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
a pinch of salt (1/8 tsp)
2 tsp. mixed essence
1 tsp. almond extract
about 1 cup of milk- evaporated or whole milk (you can substitute with any vegan option!)
1/2 cup currants (or raisins)
10 maraschino cherries cut up (to garnish the buns)

The custard powder is not on your list of ingredients. If someone does not have it or familiar with it c, where can it be purchased or do you make your own? Can it be substituted or omitted? Thanks for sharing. Do you have a hot cross buns recioe or doing one soon?
I have a hot cross buns recipe on my channel. I have 2 of them. I’ll update the custard powder. If you don’t have you can omit it. You can add in an egg, you can add vanilla pudding mix too. The possibilities are endless because some people put egg in the buns too.
