1:25 If it's the biggest slot but just single lane then you say that it's x1 lane in a full width slot.

I am wondering what would be GPU temperatures if you would take out fans out from the GPUs and do the cooling only woth case fans. You know like in ASICs :) (just for the sake of saving gpu fan usage)

Ya it may have been the 6000 series that needed the bios update.
My only concern with a board for all 12 GPUs to plug into is single point failure vulnerability. The case fans are going to use about 30w each which over all will cost the same as running another GPU. Lastly.. what type of rack is this made for? This is massive compared to the standard 1u-4u rack mount server cases I'm used to seeing.
Not sure yet am looking around for racks that can support this currently.
Its not built to rack mount on server racks.
19 inch is server width.
I'd just use sturdy shelving.
Fans are only 2.1a (and that's startup draw rating), so definitely not 30w a piece
@@ryandugan DC motors don't have inrush current like ac motors.. 2.1a is 2.1a.. and at 12v that's 25w.. close enough and the point is still valid.

can I use a C19 adapter to plug the miner into a 120v? if so is there any downside?
you can yes but make sure the PSUs you use support 120v the 1200w do but only at a rating of 900w per PSU
How loud are the fans? how can I qualify pretty loud as you mention during the video?
as a whole at 90% louder then a Antminer L3+
You can adjust the speed. I have mine running in my room and sleep just fine. Door open of course … lol

@@RabidMining I come from a server background and it amazes me how little redundancy these systems have. Our gpu servers have dual fans per row, each on a different controller and hot swappable with ipmi reporting on fan failure. But at very high costs of course. I think both sides can learn from each other and its why I watch mining videos. Thanks for making these!
