    00:00 Why did I go with Octominer X8 Ultra's instead of the X12 Ultra's?
02:01 I like to match the same brand and model's in the same mining rig
03:46 IMO it has been easier to maintain 8 GPU or less mining rigs
04:27 Octominer X12 Ultra is an amazing server mining rig case
05:36 The X8 Ultra Plus has a little bigger GPU spacing between the PCIE slots
08:24 The X12 Ultra is very heavy when GPU's are filled in it
09:28 X8 Ultra Plus is the perfect medium for me personally
10:40 What do the X8 Ultra Plus and X12 Ultra have in common?
11:13 My biggest reason why I got these Octominer cases
11:26 Most important reason to buy these server cases for GPU mining
12:08 PSU configuration is different between the x8 and x12 Ultra

    I’ve got both X12 and X8’s and it’s my recommendation that if you have large high power Gpu’s (3090,3080ti) put 6 in X12, medium Gpu’s (3070ti,6800xt) put 8 in X8, and smaller Gpu’s (6600xt, rx5700xt, A2000,a4000,3070) put 12 in X12

Great channel and content RPM! Your vids that compare and contrast subjects like this one are by far the best of all your videos. WELL DONE! I understand the size weight issues between the 8X & X12. I see using the 8X as a better option based on your comparison, for your needs. The 8X looks like they would fit horizontally stacked in a standard data center server rack with the slide drawer optional rail, for both open and sealed racks. I'd have to check the Octm dimension to be certain. But, now that you have the 12X Octm set in place. . . wouldn't your A2000 GPU fit nicely without jamming up the case by alternating every other card them and fully fill the case? I'd think that be a good place for A2000's to be installed and have plenty of power to run them. BTW, I'd opt for the 8X over racks and the larger 12X units too. . . TIA~ HODL~

Thanks for the comparison! What was the width difference between the old and new x8 cases? The website kept the same 70cm measurement but that plus looks more like 80cm plus 10cm tabs on each side

I can relate with everything you said about the first reason why you like to match all of them yeah I like to match of them no matter if it’s a model or brand or card I kinda have OCD too also the eight allows me to fill it up with more higher cards and still be running on the Stocks 750W X 4 power supplies and I can plug into a regular wall

I have two x12’s. Bought from MinerDude. They have been fantastic and make things much easier to manage in HiveOS. Before this, I had 5 rigs, running windows and it was a major PITA. I will pick up a few of these on the 30th and give them a test drive. Thanks for the videos! Makes out lives as home miners a little easier

      @courtlandoriginal9324 Před 2 lety

It does. I did some testing (on a different brand case) before I had all the slot full. I was about to get Temps about 5 degree c cooler by blocking off the open slots and keeping the gpu fan speeds the same.

Ive been running 12x 3090 FTW3's on a AAAWave open-air frame, and airflow is definitely an issue. Are there any plans for updating the x12 Ultra to a PLUS version? I would like to see the X12 with 140mm fans and slightly wider PCIe spacing as you mention.

Nice comparison though one thing that wasn't mentioned - there are a *total* of 24 pcie power connectors in either an X8 or an X12. So, if people were thinking of running 12 cards in an X12, and with some GPUs having 3 pcie power connectors...you'll be using splitters. The X8 and X12 are both great choices, but for me I went with the X8 mostly because of the extra 4mm space between GPUs.

X12 ultra better FOR ME in this MOMENT, in the future we will see
    1. Cost/ GPU slot is better in x12 ultra
    2. X8ultra 3000w - for the moment i don’t need so much power for 8 GPU (max consumption witch i have per GPU is 160w..so 2250w ps it will be enough for me

Don't use a Physical Mining Machine. Use an online service. I will tell you why. Tech host farm has changed the crypto mining game. I started using the platform on my youtube name above last year, and it has been more reliable and cheaper to use. You don't have to worry about having physical mining machine noise and no more electric fees. I find it more enjoyable because the miners are programmed to give you larges profit rewards, and it shows you a way to reduce expenses when mining, which is beneficial to all crypto miners.
