    As for the store trusting us at the self checkout, they don't. There are store employees who monitor the self checkout as well as cameras everywhere.

    • @ltsallwood
      @ltsallwood Před 8 měsíci

      As someone who has worked at walmart for almost 4 years, I can tell you the paranoia of theft at the self-checkouts is so stupid. All someone has to do is go down one of the aisles in grocery or just any aisle that doesn't have a camera, break open the package, steal the item, and throw the packaging on a shelf somewhere. If I didn't have morals, I would of stolen so much stuff lol

      I was gonna say there's literally a person whose job it is to help when the self checkout is being fucky AND to make sure you're not stealing. 😂❤

    The gun department is still in certain stores. The one in our area no longer has its Gun department. The whole hunting department became more of a sports and leisure section. But the US has a ton of open land and rural areas where police may take 30 - 40 minutes to reach you in an emergency. So, firearms in these areas are sometimes your only real protection against wildlife or intruders.
    He mentions it costs 200 - 300 dollars for a firearm. Then says that's a week's worth of groceries. I have never lived in an area where it costs that much for groceries for a week. That for my household would be like 2 - 3 weeks worth of food.
    then as for sizes of thing...a lot of us don't shop every day. Most households outside of the big cities in the US I feel shop maybe once a week if that. For rural places its an hours or two drive to the nearest big grocery store. So when we buy stuff we have to have enough to last us. So yeah we would buy the 10 pack of soap bars so we don't have to go buy soap for the next 10 months.

    Walmart usually has everything except the one specific thing you needed. The last time I went looking for a certain cleaner that was supposed to be in stock, they didn't have it and I ended up buying Willy Wonka socks instead.

    White Castle is a chain of hamburger restaurants founded in 1921. They are wildly popular, however they don't have restaurants in every state. Their burgers are a delicacy and have a huge cult following.

    • @tahliasgoddaddy
      @tahliasgoddaddy Před 8 měsíci

      In the deep south they were Royal Castle. Same exact products but, all the burger names started with the Royal. The Royal burger. The Royal Big Burger, etc. The one here in Fort Myers Florida closed down many years ago, but I think they're still open in north Florida under the White Castle name now.

    They were pretty novel to us when they first hit the scene. Walmart used to just be a regular department store. For us, the supercenter opened in 1994. I was in 1st grade, and it was so novel. Nowadays, they're everywhere. I don't even hear anyone say "Walmart Supercenter" anynore. Not even sure if it's even officially in the name anymore. We just call them Walmart because the old style ones are rare now.

    I'm a little shocked they didn't go into the automobile section. You can actually get milk and new tires at the same stop. I don't like WalMart myself and won't shop there. I worked in a distribution center for them in University and they don't give a crap about their employees. It got my degrees and rent taken care of, with very hard work there, so maybe I shouldn't be complaining. I just won't shop there based on their ethics.

      heard the same from every single person I've ever known directly or by a sister/brother of a close friend. and not only recently--repeatedly over the past 30 years. I also worked for a spice company that sold several product lines at Sam's and Walmart, so I saw a lot of their operations practices in person at the headquarters in Bentonville. the inventory and fulfillment buyers and managers all kept their mouths shut--those who'd put in a chunk of time in their position and had any financial reason to ride it out, anyway. everyday employees couldn't STOP running their mouths about what they dealt with. even to me, and I was just the woman at a supplier company who designed the packaging.
      I haven't shopped there in almost 15 years, with one or two exceptions for one-off single items I needed TODAY and couldn't get anywhere else. to them, "customer service" is just the words on the wall above a return desk in the store. not my place to tell anyone else what to do, especially those in rural areas when it's not practical to drive an hour to shops every other day. but it astounds me that they're still in business, apart from the fact that they're merely lucky enough to be in the position they are where they don't have to take many of the usual business practices as seriously. who's going to stop them? store-label manufacturers, huge contracts and decades of positioning have basically made it easier for them to get away with a lot. the execs and investors don't feel much of any potential loss in revenue, they can shoulder it. the employees lose.

    The Walmart supercenters are the ones that have basically everything but there are smaller Walmarts that are not supercenters. The Walmart I go to is not a supercenter so it’s not as massive as the one in this video

    We pretty much depend on everything we need being available at our Walmart, in our part of Wyoming…👍🏻
    We need firearms where we live… A rabid badger was threatening to people and their domesticated animals… That badger is no longer a threat.
    Several pit bulls escaped from their property and endangered my daughter-in-law and my granddaughters… That threat was erased… The Sheriff’s Dept. recognized the deceased dogs…because those dogs had caused problems previously…
    If you own potentially dangerous animals, please, be a responsible owner…❤️

    Y'all should have watched "Your New Zealand Family first time at Walmart." It's a much better example of the store. This didn't really give an idea of how huge the stores really are. Also, it showed more of the varieties of different products available. I've seen a few of this guy's videos and don't like them nearly as much as other foreigners vids. He's way too critical of everything. He personafies the stereotypes of Germans and I don't think most German people are like that. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know. I've only known 2 German people personally as friends. 1 was stereotypical. The other was not.

    This guy is very annoying. He started out the video in the parking lot mentioning his interest in fights that broke out in Walmart. It seems he just wants to find fault in everything and complain about the sizes and prices. The prices are not “crooked.” They start out manufacturers price and then they are discounted so they have what “he” believes is an unconventional price. Who cares??? He even put on a ridiculous combination of clothes and insultingly tried to do an accent that he referred to as “red neck.” Does he even know how obnoxious that was? Certainly not a fan of this guy. I hope he treats her better than his obvious disdain for America. He was excited to go to Walmart and then all he did was bash it with rude comments. When you’re a guest anywhere, there’s a thing called etiquette. I would much rather see you two come here and try whatever you wanted. Your personalities and excitement would only make us love you more.

    • @happycactus
      @happycactus Před 8 měsíci

      I prefer to know the price without tax, that way I know how much government theft I have been a victim of. I general sale tax can range from 7% to 10%. If I am buying groceries I don’t care. The only time I calculate the sales tax is for a large $$ purchase like a TV or a computer. However, general just do 10% or find out what the sales tax is in the local community as it varies for town to town and calculate.

    This guy...complain complain complain. complaining about having to do math. "it's 150 calories per serving, there's one thing that annoys me: it's always states per serving, now I have to look at how much is a serving...." what, you'd rather know the total for the entire giant container? still have to do math then too. oh wow, that's just reprehensible, isn't it. *smh* I swear, the latest sense of entitlement seems to be widespread offense at actually having to use critical thought for yourself rather than have answers listed for you everywhere you go. I'm not saying he should be pulling punches on his opinions, but maybe don't go around being snide about everything if you're gonna film and publish it. not great for viewership. she's sweet though, I'd watch a channel of just her.
