I like Costco because they treat their employees well. I don’t even mind paying a bit more knowing the workers are properly compensated, they have lives and families too. I have had friends who are employees. I know one guy, he decidedly to join the Air Force. Costco told when he is done in the military he always has a job with them. After 2 years I think, he was done with the Air Force and now he is back there.
Costco is also now international and not just the U.S.
As of February 2023, Costco has 855 warehouses worldwide: 587 in the United States, 107 in Canada, 40 in Mexico, 32 in Japan, 29 in the United Kingdom, 18 in Korea, 15 in Australia, 14 in Taiwan, four in Spain, four in China, two in France, and one each in Iceland, New Zealand, and Sweden
Thanks for researching it!
Thanks for researching it!
@@RFredrickPhotography you are welcome! Sometimes wikipedia gets it right and definitely makes it easier. 😁 I also found out all the overseas stores have the exact same floor plan as the U.S. and the Kirkland brand is almost always the most popular.
This is amazing!!! And i love to see what other countries have in their food court. And China wants to build more, they just opened the first one a few years ago and now they have 14, wow!!!
One of the things that I love about Costco is that you can eat a good meal by hitting up all the free sample tables a couple of times!
it opens up in Kirkland Wash which is Seattle and i was a member there when it opened but i only got in at that time because of the Labor Union i worked at with Boeing, decades later it opened up to everyone
My dad and stepmom are Costco members. My dad always gets his gas there (both for his pickup truck and his RV) and my stepmom used to shop there but I don’t think she does much now. She keeps promising to take me there as a guest so I can check it out. While I’m curious just to see it, I know it wouldn’t work for me. It seems like a okay or even good deal if you’re shopping for a big family, but if you’re single and shopping for only yourself then buying in bulk doesn’t make sense as what you buy would spoil before you can use it.
I'm a single guy who buys my gas at Costco and it is always cheaper than my local gas stations. Also, I buy in bulk, butter (freeze it), toilet paper (so much cheaper than my grocery store), olive oil, meats, ice cream products, cleaning products, bottled water and I could go on and on.
The memberships is actually where their profits come from, not from the merchandise. The merchandise is for the most part sold at cost. That’s why the employees don’t pay for a membership; however they do not get a discount because everything is already sold at cost. Hence the Cooperative in Costco or Cost Cooperative.
This is a myth passed around the internet, but it's not true and it's easy to prove it wrong, just listen to one of their earning calls with their CEO or read their public filings, roughly 50% is from memberships and 50% from product sales.
So, yes Costco did survive, and so did Walmart, but not many more. Our small business here in the US is almost gone, it’s very sad to see. When my parents grew up, there were 50 retail stores within your state. Now it’s just Walmart, and Amazon for the most part
I've shipped Costco in the US and Canada and both places they're top notch. And the membership cost is per year.
I used to be a Team Lead/Manager (more abilities than a team lead was supposed to have - like alarm codes to everything so I could close and lock up at night) at Sam's Club which is exactly like a Costco and is Costco's main competitor and I was over all the guys that stock everything out from 3-11pm everyday (there's another shift that works mornings but my team did most of the work at least at the one I was at when it was my department) and the whole efficiency thing is right on point. I also used to be a department manager over the Garden Center at a Home Depot and I can tell you Sam's is way more efficient in the way they stock overall. The majority of products at Home Depot have to be stocked by hand but at Sam's you usually just swap out entire pallets of product when one gets low and then just hand stack the leftovers of the old pallet on top which also makes stocking, rotating stock, and doing audits much easier. There's more to it than that but if y'all have any questions feel free to ask
You can get everything you can buy cars also you can book trips you can get furniture tires oil changes it’s all store in one meds and eye exams. The only thing they don’t have is hair dressers and spa. But other company’s and store build close by. You can walk in and get one but if you spend you get money to pay for your memeber ship. So member ship can be 100 dollars but if you get back 60 dollars then you only spending 30. But for me I hate shopping so it’s a one stop shop
Costco brand items, under the name of Kirkland, actually have some decent quality items. But things were a lot better before a certain little thing that started in 2020…
The membership here is only like $50 a year, and I always end up paying much less than I do at a regular store. Although you have to buy in bulk for a lot of items, so yo pay more at once, but it saves you in the long run. At least over here.
Anyone can walk into a Costco and buy a membership card. And immediately start to shop.
In my state, Maryland, they can’t sell liquor or beer in grocery stores or ‘big box’ stores like Costco or Sam’s.
True story: first time I went in Sam’s I was going to get juice boxes & toilet paper. Came out with $117 worth of stuff, NO juice boxes or toilet paper. Put everything in the car & went back to get the juice boxes & toilet paper.
Costco ( or Sam’s ) isn’t a department store, it’s a ‘big box’ store. You do your shopping and the only time you see/interact with staff is at checkout - but we don’t do that, either as we use the Sam’s app; scan things as we load up our cart, then just show the total to the lady at the door who checks everybody’s receipt.
I do love Costco but it's very easy to spend more than you meant to spend. They say never grocery shop while hungry but that goes double for Costco.
I do not live close to one. But I have been there a few times with friends. They do not have a good selection and the per serving size price in not really as good as walmart
The memberships are yearly, and it's easy to become member
sadly, Costco is too far from where i live - it is a 3 hour drive(done way) so going there is like going to work - and also the idea of a membership is not for me
Watch,, could US military conquer UK if it wanted to
If you are true Indian then
i spend 400 Doller Costco last week
But what is the difference between Costco and Sam's? I've only been to Sam's and looks like they do all the same things.
buy a Costco membership card Costco wholesale store
It would be nice if you guys would pause the videos when you're giving your reaction to the video. Sometimes it difficult to hear what you're saying bcuz the sound of the video can be loud at times.

I'm an Amazon shopper I'd rather have things delivered to my house than to go to a store like Cosco and spend more than I need and with Amazon I don't having to put up with people and waite in long lines.
i had a membership for a year but it was pointless. the store was across town and i never
came to that side of town. plus you have to pay to be a member on top of the groceries.
pay to be a member????? f that.
