Man, how did Clint Malarchuk survive that?!

Quick thinking by the athletic trainer (Jim Pizzutelli) who rushed on the ice and reached inside Malarchuk's neck and pinching his jugular vein closed to stop the bleeding! He never let go until doctors stabilized the cut! If he didn't do that Malarchuk would have 100% died Pizzutelli was a former US army combat medic who served in Vietnam

Years later he attempted suicide and shot himself in the head.
Luckily he didn't hit anything that killed him immediately, and his wife found him.
Dude just wasn't meant to go yet..
