Those little things that few people notice about the Mavic 3 yet those things make such a huge difference in terms of our flight experience with the Mavic 3
so that requires a line of sight? Is it possible to fly say 5 km away and then land it somewhere? Or the signal will be instantly lost if you try to go down at that distance?

great to know whet the range is. Thanks for testing. I agree, the battery life is amazing. I went from the Pro 1 to the 3 and I feel like I can go forever. I would love to know your views on the wide angle lens. I find myself breaking ceiling limits to get more scenery, and I think the wide angle lens could fix that. what's your view though?

I've gotten over 9000m and could've gone for more here in Colorado with my M3 but using the new smart remote, crazy cool drones. You said under 20 minutes (are you flying in S mode?) I'm getting well over 33 minutes.

Just ordered the Mavic 3. First drone I bought was back in 2015 and it was a 3D Robotics. Bulky huge drone that I flew 3 times and crashed it into a tree haha. Its sat in the carry bag ever since that time. So I am very excited for these newer drones and all the safety sensors and all that. And this video is reasurring on dji drones range abilities.

I don't own the mavic 3 but typically it's better to do range tests in S mode. Lower flight time but higher speed gets you further and back
You did it right, as long as you have line of sight it is crazy how far you can fly these especially the Mavic 3. Just ordered mine can't wait, the latest firmware update that fixed last few issues finally (7 zoom camera, GPS locking on, etc.) got my attention now. I knew this drone would be amazing, but like a lot of electronic manufactures they released it before fixing most of the bugs. Having a 4/3 sensor and 7x zoom camera in an affordable drone so you don't have plunk down money for say Inspire 2 w/X5S gimbal & lens for $3000 more is crazy good. I know lot of people complained about price when first came out but I think it is bargain for what you get.
Line of sight? The FAA say something? Huh? What you say FAA? I don't know but I think the FAA is screaming something about 5 miles away! VLOS? Who? I never met her!! Buwahaha!
I do believe VLOS is broken with every flight I make! LOL Hell the Mini1 will easily break VLOS! It's ancient!

I noticed that you didn’t use your compass to help you keep your controller position pointed towards the drone. It really helps increase range the blue/ green dot with the arrow pointing towards the arrow on the compass and hold your controller horizontal so that the signal is pointing straight towards the drone. I’ve gotten 6 miles with my mavic air 2
@Verbal Ninja Are you using your compass to make sure you are pointing your controller towards the drone? If not then that’s probably why. Hold your controller horizontally the signal coming from the top of the controller is pointing directly towards the drone. Because if you are facing the east and the drone is flying south or any other direction you won’t get the best range results.
do u mean the Air2s? because the air 2 has occusync 2.0 technology and it cant go that far, contrary to the air2s which has Occusync 3
I have a question and if you can answer it for me I would appreciate it how were you able to fly your drone so far out of line of sight when the regulations are you have to fly line of sight how would you able to do that legally or was it illegal if you could answer from me I would appreciate it

I got my dji mavic 3 for Christmas and it has a battery charger included with three extra batteries and a spare part for everything.
Pretty amazing.
It's one guy has you beat though. Along the beach he was over 30k feet! At ground level too I believe he launched from. But height is king! Raise the drone or raise the controller!

Fun fact, not sure when they started using the boosted occusync (either with the mavic pro or the mavic 2) but the drones before the mavic 3 were capable of boosting to 3 watts transmission. The mavic 3 doesn't even boost to 3 watts - im assuming for cooling reasons vs battery life and weight. If you test the control link of all the mavic series (not sure the original mavic) they all boost to nearly 3 watts when powered up. What does this mean? Well - the occusync system has overhead - meaning if cooled and allowed to use its full watts - it could go further.

The distance test is good, but the scenery is so nice.
I took my mavic Pro Platinum over 4 MI, so I'm surprised that this only went 5 miles, especially when DJI claims 9 miles!

Don’t question why a drone can go that far. It’s better to have than to have not. Better to go with than to go without. I live in a place where there are plenty of hills, and I have never seen them all. A drone like this and the ability to fly to these remote spots, instead of walking, riding, or driving, just opens up a whole new world for me to explore. We need the range to explore. Which is why I wish DJI didn’t bring out every drone with the best camera for cinematography. I’d like, for once, options with the cameras. I’d like just one with a x30 zoom.

I can't get more than 5k on my drone in a rural area...is it because you were on your roof?
I would think an American would use imperial units. Do most people fly from their roof. To me, the test should be run from the ground. I just tested mine two days ago, and I didn't get anywhere near that distance. Nice video.

Insane!! My mini 2 went 5020metres and came back with 8% too! My Heart really dropped when i saw only 23% left with 1700metres to go

This drone transmission is silly less from what expected!!! Reached 7000 meters and the conn went poor!! I flew the mavic air 2 for 7200 meters!!!

To answer your question, that range is excellent for using it in civilian and military reconnaissance.
The mavic 3 has has 46 minutes flight time on it spec's by DJI on paper not 36 minutes.

Mavic 3 range suppose to be 15 kilometers in fcc mode and 9 kilometers in CE mode euro version! But all videos of range test i see maximum it hits 7 kilometers !!! It should go much more further before the signal go weak!! I dont understand dji advertising, even with the battery thing it says 46 mins and i can understand its up to 46 meters and in real flight wont give full minutes but all flight test videos shows its not flying more than 33 mins !!! The mavic air 2 half the price and its real flight time 29 mins and i reached range 5 kilometers . I dont think mavic 3 good as much as the marketing for it .

Range is even better if you have a DJI RC Pro controller don't ask me why but it is at least that's my experience. Also the price point for the Mavic 3 Cine is not worth the extra dollars $$$ that it cost just to have an extra zoom camera owning both the Cine and the Classic I see really no big difference other than the classic only having one camera.

This is fake Range test 6km this is not true. Like example for my Dji Mini 2 range in Europe City and radio control signal for me is only 700 meters what is not enough for my needs. Dji should improve the RC signal strength it is not 6km but only 700 meters.

wtf? even with a mini 2 did 7km+ the other day using same remote, tech and protocol. Plus from the roof is waaaay easier lol. climb that mountain and with less interference you'll reach 8km or 9km. but 30km?!? my ass you'll ever get that without better tech.
