they dident invent the seatbelt but saab had the first standard seatbelt meaning no extra option then vattenfall a state vaterpower and nuclear energy did research about what their employees where killed by and they concluded it was mostly car crashes so two of their engeners made the seatbelt better and then volvo implemented it with a little more changes and that was the 3 point belt
it takes time and lots of tests to come out with new cars. Plus, they're expanding their target market and making new vehicles....like trucks and buses and other equipment. It's better to expand into other areas, then keep sticking to one product.
Aaron JC everything other than cars is a completely different company under different ownership. and they still make stuff that's supposed to last. market for consumer goods, on the other hand, mandates programmed deterioration, and volvo isn't a stronghold for reliable stuff anymore. I love what this brand used to be and hope they can do better.
I love Volvo So MUCH! My parents have a 2007 XC90 with over 390,000km and it’s still running strong! It never broke down! Our Volvo never needed any major repairs! We just do regular maintenance! Thanks to Volvo we were able to drive to our vacations! We have driven from Toronto to Florida 12 Times! and we’ve also driven to over 20 states multiple times! We’ve driven it to the East coast of Canada! A Volvo is a Car I can trust! Thanks Volvo! Sometimes my dad and I will bring our car in for service in Florida while we are on vacation because I love Volvo’s so MUCH! I’ve been a Volvo fan since I was 7, when my parents bought the XC90! Now I’m 17 and I really want to become a Volvo Mechanic! Volvo For Life!

I was driving Volvo S40, 2006 model for ten years, counting 300000km, without any issue and uncompromising quality. Now I am a proud owner of the new Volvo S60, from December 2016. I'm so happy to see the Volvo S80 in the history timeline. Volvo will be in my heart forever. My compliments to the team that make it happen ! Congrats Volvo !!!

I got myself a C30 ten years ago as my first car. And i still drive it today. I already know the next one will also be a Volvo..... But since my C30 will probably never break down (still rolls like on the first day with just 2 "bigger" repairs yet)) i´ll have to wait at least another 5-10 years :D Back then my friends all laughed at my Volvo ... yet mine is the only one which asnt been switched out by now :D

Its unique. One of the best Volvo's, especially with T5 or Polestar edition. Its so nice to see BMW 1 and Audi A3 in back mirrors. Plus massive safety car, just compare doors in these cars - massive difference. :)

Looks like they wanted to show the "true" Volvo evolution in 90 years and the special models not fitting in the range (1800, 480, C30), not the ordinary models with DAF, Renault, Mitsubishi and Ford underpinnings like the 300- and 400-series and the S/V40 made in Born and the S40/V50/C70 made in Gent.
Volvo is ahead of it's time. Always building Futuristic and Luxurious cars. The new XC60 is one of my dream cars. Job well done! You will continue to be a loved car maker by many.
Volvo story has ended in the 90' the last rear drive 940 , 90 V , 90 S and the famous previous 240 740 models , 740 saved my life so i still drive another one and dream of mint condition 240 and 940 both estate , so I am done with car industry for good .Thank you Sweden for the BEST CARS EVER BUILT -with love from Poland
I absolutely love that the music went from ‘suiting the eras’ to absolutely breathtakingly majestic orchestral, as the peak for Volvo was reached at the 850T5R. (Not that the quality has declined, but nor has it risen. Although many safety aspects have been improved/optimalized on the newer models.) To this day, by my own meaning, this is the best vehicle ever created. It suits all of your needs, and even your mother-in-laws, and that at a great speed, comfort, agility, and most importantly; safely.
