I have seen a lot of people do it this way. I've even seen it done with a dremel with a milling bit. I have a Hakko FR-301 and just desolder the antenna pins. I don't think there's any wrong way to do it, but in my opinion it's just faster to remove the board if you have the equipment to do it efficiently.

Makes friends with your local dealers, folks! While you won't be successful with all of them, establishing a relationship with the parts department can go a long way. I have a contact at my local Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler dealer and with a 2 minute phone call I've got my pin/key code. Great video. Very informative.

Are you possibly showing 2 different ways of accessing the Data from the Chip? (Maybe method 1 is removing the Chip and using the Socket Adaptor, and possibly Soldering the Original Chip back in to use the Clamp for method 2?) The way the short Video plays out, seems like you pulled the Original out and added another. I ask because I am a (Close to 30 year Mechanic) that actually went to a Technical College learning Computer Repair on a Component Level before they became Microscopic. I am Fluent with Automotive Repair and Advanced Diagnostics. I have multiple Versions of Diagnostic Scanners, and a couple versions of O-Scopes i use quite a bit. I am tired of turning away work that has to do with Keys. I have an Autel IM508 coming, and am trying to research and learn while waiting.

A question about this procedure,,, why would you go thru all that if the dealer can provide the pin-code for free or sometimes dealer will charge $20 for a pin-code... seems like too much work,,,,, unless the vehicle is not available and you are doing the job on the bench.... I think it's always better to try to avoid eeprom reading, and try to do the job the way oem/factory does it.... unless you're limited on tools, and you only have an eeprom reader,,,, TRY TO MAKE THE JOB AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE,,,

It is much easier to just remove the whole pcp out of case I never cut into them it's to messy and doesn't demolish the case.

Bro you don’t need to eeprom the caravan! You could have just read the pin via obd! I really hope you knew that and the customers obd was broken! You lied in the beginning the autel will pull the pin on a caravan. No eeprom is needed. You can 10000000% obd that!

But what options do I have? I have xp400 im508. Can I program module with original vin and pin? I ended up buying the pin from original pin- the original dkreem module antenna is danaged
